Hello. My name is Tim Spencer, The Later Life Lending Expert and the Managing Director of Optimus Mortgages. I help people live a better retirement through bespoke later-life lending, and I believe that financial solutions should be made simple for everyone. I started working in the financial services industry in the 1990s but soon fell out of love with the corporate world. I set up Optimus Mortgages Ltd in 2016 as I am passionate about helping people, just like you, understand what lending options are available, but without all of the high pressure sales techniques and targets. When I turn up to see clients, I won't be wearing a sharp suit, or using a flash laptop. I use a pen and paper, and look at having a relaxed chat. I like to build up long-term working relationships with my clients, and most of my clients have been referred to me by their friends, family or colleagues who I have previously helped. At Optimus Mortgages, we have decades of experience in financial services, and as specialists in the later-life lending market, we have access to a panel of carefully selected leading providers. We can also access the whole market, allowing us to make sure we find a suitable solution for clients. We are based in County Durham, but serve the entire UK. We deliver bespoke guidance and advice to our clients, and make use of the latest technology to deliver a premium level of service, whilst keeping things simple and straightforward. You can be safe in the knowledge that you will always be dealt with by fully qualified specialists who make sure that everything is clear and free from jargon. At Optimus Mortgages, financial solutions are made simple.

I can only add to the plethora of superb review's of Tim's service. Beyond his expertise and sheer tenacity in securing the best deal for his clients, Tim's wisdom and insight into the whole buying process proved invaluable in securing me a retirement mortgage that has led to to deliver this review from my own home. It was a tough journey getting here (working with Tim was the easy bit), but Tim's patience and persistence never wavered. Professional, huge integrity and an all-round decent chap.

First class service
Hi not one to normally leave reviews but felt like i should to help guide other people in the right direction for finding the right mortgage advisor .
Tim has now arranged a buy to let mortgage on three separate occasions for me now ,each time i have been guided through with kid gloves very professionally at each stage without exception , the deals he has sourced for me have on each occasion have been exceptional . In particular i am extremely grateful for the initial deal he arranged which enabled me to retain my property which at the time i was convinced i was going to lose due to my personal circumstances .Tim has always been on the end of the phone for any queries no matter how trivial plus i may add extremely patient with all matters .

Remortgage
Having used Tim when we bought our house he offered to help us remortgage at the end of our fixed term. I had already compared various mortgages but Tim was able to find us a better deal within 30 minutes and at a better rate than we could get ourselves! He sorted the whole process and kept us informed at all times. I have recommended Tim and Optimus to other friends and wouldn't hesitate to do so again.
