I approached Chris twice for help with selling my tenanted property. Both times he was amazing and went out of his way to tailor his offering to my specific needs. Wanted more information on how the process worked for selling my property. I spoke to Chris who was brilliant- super helpful and explained everything clearly.

I had to sell our tenanted property (with tenant in situ) fast as I needed to raise funds quickly. After completing an online form I was contacted by Chris, who initially advised what I could expect to receive if we sold the house to Open Property. I was happy with what he advised and decided to proceed.

I was a little disappointed when Chris contacted me to advise that because of the state of the house the initial offer had been lowered. Admittedly, the house wasn't in a brilliant state for sale on the open market as it required refurbishment, so we eventually agreed on a reduction that was acceptable to both parties.

Apart from this disappointing setback I have been more than happy with the speed - from initial contact to completion an impressive 6 weeks. Communication with both Chris and Jason throughout the process has been excellent. They were both very responsive and answered all of my queries and responded to my concerns quickly. The company paid all conveyancing and solicitors' fees. They also allocated me a liaison manager, Nina, who kept me updated throughput the process. In all I am more than happy with the company, and would recommend them if you need to sell your property quickly and haven't the time to go through conventional channels. I found Chris and Jason to be very straightforward and open with me at all times.

I just wanted to write a small message of thanks to Chris for assisting me with the sale of my property and the buying of my new one in Portsmouth.

Terrible, dragged it out for months and then pulled out at the last minute for a reason they couldn’t justify. Ignore the response they put to this review, I have the correct company, open property group, you have little to no communication after the point of signing a contract, as the seller you can ask for proof of funds….they won’t give it…what does that say? they will string you along. Go anywhere but here!! If 0 stars was available that’s what I’d give. Look at the good reviews…….questionable.

Jason you are trying to do some serious covering here. Our sale was agreed with you back in May. We made you aware THE SAME DAY about the EWS1 form for the cladding and we were told it was fine because B1 means no remedy works need to be carried out. It is a brand new building built in 2020 from the ground up. After providing the EWS1 form to you up front, we were told by you that’s fine we can go ahead so reason number one for pulling out is rubbish. Reason number two-service charges- so are you telling me that in MAY we didn’t provide you with the service charge information?? Which on the back of knowing what they were you still went ahead?? You can’t use that as an excuse Jason when you knew what they were from the outset! Give me a reason for pulling out that isn’t related to anything that you knew about 12 weeks ago. (Other than in my opinion you not being able to get the money together) You’re just trying to make this sound better to anyone that might read it. Did you think I wasn’t going to respond with the truth?? We then called on a weekly basis with no response from you just a lazy text back saying ‘I’ll call you later’ later never came. We went to great efforts to get all paper work to the solicitors quickly and efficiently. Still no call back from you in August. By the end of the first week of August after hearing nothing, I put the pressure on to find out what’s going on. We were informed by someone that you don’t have the money just sat in the bank, you have to get funding. The market changed and you were no longer interested in our properties or just couldn’t get the cash together. You didn’t even pick the phone up to tell us, you sent a blanket cold email with no real excuse on it. Your communication is shocking, why don’t you check with your receptionist how many messages were left for just anyone to call me back with some information on what’s going on??the climate we are in has been here since January Jason, so when we contacted you to buy our properties, you already had knowledge of the fact that the market is tough. Surely that’s your business model isn’t it? Offer low in conditions of market distress in order to make money on a market up turn??People come to you expecting to get a lower offer in order for the sale to go through, my point in this entire situation Jason is that throughout this process, your business has had multiple opportunities to tell us what was going on, and it was always us doing the chasing with nothing back. If a person is reading this thinking of using this business, just think how it would effect you if you needed this sale, couldn’t get in touch with OPG and 12 weeks later after doing all that’s asked of you….you get an email saying sorry, we aren’t going ahead. That’s why I’ve rated you one star. The way we were treated is awful. I hope you never experience this kind of treatment because honestly, it’s just awful.

Chris Lockwood has been fab selling my property amd getting the ball rolling. Hes been consistent with communication and updates throughout and always there to answer any questions / get things done along the way. The speed at which they worked was amazing and I was very impressed
I didn’t end up doing the deal in the end because I had a redemption on my mortgage I was inaware of and pulled out the deal
They were very understanding and said they would get in touch when my redemption is cleared

Open Property Group do what they say they will do. Personal contact from Jason and Nina helps to reassure vendors about the process of selling to Open Property Group.

Once the price was agreed there was no attempt to reduce price due to survey or legal findings.

The revised completion date was achieved. I suspect the need to revise the date was due to Solicitors acting as Solicitors can do, rather than any delay from within Open Property.

By the time vendors consider selling to a Property buying company they may have had some negative experiences connected with the property sale. Jason and the team understand this and treat vendors in a courteous and professional manner.
