Timmy was amazing the cultural insight and knowledge he shared with the group was amazing. His guidance and support throughout the week was greatly appreciated. He is also a very good photographer!

i’ve had an amazing time volunteering with this program! the staff are knowledgeable, kind, and friendly while keeping just the right level of professionalism. the accommodations were cozy and comfortable. i snorkeled in the most beautiful waters i have ever seen and met some amazing people.

The programme provides such amazing opportunities to everyone involved. The leaders are very supportive and interactive with everyone. It brings together people from lots of different backgrounds which is also fun. And the sea life is always great which is a bonus. Would 100% recommend to anyone able to partake in the volunteering :))

Personal service, flexibility thank you

It was such an amazing experience! It's definitely a great way to learn how research in the Great Barrier Reef is conducted and to explore the GBR and be more than just a tourist. It's also great to gain more marine research experience if you're already in the marine field.

My only complaint is not having a choice for meals everyday and also being stuck on the island until 4:30 when the ferry arrives but you still get a decent amount of free time aside from volunteering. Very glad I was able to volunteer!

This was my first ever travel volunteer experience and it was very worthwhile! I wish I was staying for the second week!

I don't study or work in the area of wildlife or environmental conservation (I'm a project manager on governmental infrastructure projects). Yet I found this program very educational and enjoyable. O2E were transparent about their fee structure and I knew I was contributing to marine and environmental conservation, despite only doing a week of the program. I thought there was a good balance between volunteering in the morning and having free time in the afternoon.

All the hosts were fantastic - Helen was an excellent coordinator and conservation guru, Tim beautifully weaved Indigenous culture elements into the program, and Amy was knowledgeable, fun and helpful.

A few notes:
- To those thinking of doing the SCUBA certification the week prior - this is for fun and is not required for volunteering.
- It wasn't completely clear that you didn't have to buy a GoPro and fins. I did end up buying all my snorkel gear in Cairns anyway, but others may prefer to just hire fins on the islands.
- As a plan-ahead person, I would've liked the weekly program a bit earlier (Friday or Saturday) instead of Sunday. However, in the end, it didn't matter too much.
- Maybe make clear that although the afternoons are free, you're on the Island until 4:30pm.

Having completed this program, I'm keen to be more sustainable, do more volunteering generally and more snorkelling (I was new to snorkelling). Thank you O2E team! :)

Very good, I really liked the overall experience and the staff

The one week program was perfect for my first time taking part in a volunteering project. They taught us how to complete two different coral surveys and a lot more about the ocean. I loved meeting same minded people and feeling like we are making a difference while having lots of fun!

I had a great time meeting all the instructors and dancing with Timmy is something I’ll never forget Helen also teched me so much about wildlife and the ocean is recommend anyone who like outside and animals to do it and I’d do it all over again in a heart beat

The experience was amazing. We were exposed to many different things, including various snorkeling assignments, two islands to explore, a beach clean-up, and multiple cultural demonstrations. All the activities are not only fun but eye-opening. We learned the importance of both aboriginal culture and marine conservation.

Helen, Timmy, and Amy did their best to keep things fresh by making sure each day was a new experience. In our down-time, we were able to explore all that the beautiful islands had to offer.

Just wrapped up an epic adventure with Oceans to Earth. The coral conservation and turtle monitoring were not just tasks, but a journey into the heart of nature. Helen, our leader, was nothing short of amazing, guiding us with wisdom and grace. Timmy, our cultural guru, opened our eyes to the rich indigenous culture of Cairns, sharing stories that were as illuminating as they were fascinating. And Amy, always there with a helping hand and a kind word, made the trip feel like a journey with friends. This wasn't just a trip, it was a life-changing experience. So here's to living my best life and embracing these wanderlust vibes. Can't wait for the next adventure!

Oceans 2 Earth is a great organization that organized a fun and rewarding volunteer program. The staff reached out ahead of time and provided all the program information and logistical details making the trip very streamlined to plan. Upon arrival I was placed in housing with other members of the group which made making acquaintances easy. The coordinator Helen did an absolutely amazing job teaching the group about coral and marine life as well as how to contribute to the volunteer marine conservation initiatives. The program included cultural education, snorkeling in beautiful reef areas, and various other land based activities. I had a fun and impactful experience here and am so glad I had the opportunity to participate. I would recommend this program to anyone looking to have an amazing marine experience with like minded individuals. Helen, Tim, and Amy made this experience special for the group.

Working with Oceans to earth has been incredible. Hellen, Amy and Timmy were amazing instructors. They were so informative and made my experience here truly unforgettable. I loved how much of the culture was explained and shown. That was one of my favorite things about this program. Also all of the wild life we were able to witness and survey!

This programme is amazing! Got to know more about cairns, the culture and marine life! Enrollment is easy, staff are very responsive.

The people are so amazing and we got to see and experience so many cool things swimming in the great barrier reef!!

I have had one of the best weeks of my life. Not only Australia, but the team here has been wonderful! We learned so many interesting things about the indigenous culture. And I had never seen so many beautiful marine creatures. I’ll never forget this adventure. Thank you!!

I loved the people I met so much and the staff was amazing!! The overall feel of the entire group is so much fun and I felt like we were doing important work! The instructions were clear and easy to follow and Helen was always ready to answer any question kindly. The work we did was meaningful but the friendships I made in just one week were priceless. I am so thankful to Helen and all of Oceans to Earth for making this week as amazing as it could be!! I had a wonderful week!
