I have been a member of this app for years. I have considered terminating my account countless times. I live in Bakersfield, CA, and for safety reasons, I have maintained my profile on there, in spite of their relentless efforts to silence you.

If you are a Christian, stay away from this app. They WILL silence you. When scrolling through their news feeds, you encounter a great number of people who hate religion, and they are very comfortable letting you know where they stand, while the mediators pop up on comment threads supporting the anti-religion remarks and attacks. If you dare to try to have a healthy debate with these “neighbors” on this app, they resort to “reporting” you to the moderators who treat community members like toddlers, threatening with reporting, suspension and banning.

I encountered two moderators named Pamela and Joy who go through comment threads inserting their own opinions on sensitive topics, while discouraging Christians to even mention the word “religion”, even when the topic is encouraged and supported.

They treat you as if you can’t think for yourself, as if you are someone who needs to be “educated” on how to handle discussions on this app. If you happen to wanting to bring a different perspective, you are threatened, reported and suspended. They truly hate religion. And the very few who claim to be “Christians” do not stand up for one another, while encouraging censorship as a means to silence different theological beliefs. So, as a Christian, you are on your own, without a voice, being excluded from interaction by a “community guideline” that is severely abused.

Besides the tyrannical and condescending way with which “neighbors” are treated on this app, all you really see is people constantly asking for free things, people who use this app to rant about religion, people who come to this app to blame society for their problems, while having an attitude of entitlement and expecting strangers to fix their lives for them. It is a DEPRESSING platform and I would most definitely discourage anyone to waste their time on it!

Next door is the absolute WORST. They allow MAGAts to constantly voice their lies and conspiracies. They allow conspiracists in general to spread their lies---like the one today who is telling people how wonderful lunatic RFK Jr.'s food pyramid is; and also that they should drink RAW MILK--even after all the warnings by doctors and scientists of it's dangers! This woman formerly owned a health food store (and obviously a wingnut) and well known in her town so many people may listen to her. I submitted a complaint and also commented on the falsehood in her statement on the forum and NextDoor took my comment down and left hers up! They ALLOW conspiracists to post their lies and REFUSE TO MODERATE this forum to protect consumers! This is part of her comment that is still on the website: "Health Matters has recommended Whole Milk (I prefer natural milk from Calder's or my favorite RAW MILK) over 20 years." Doctors and scientists tell people NEVER to drink raw unpasteurized milk because of bacteria and viruses and foodborne outbreaks which can cause serious illness and even death! This woman's commentary is untrue and harmful and should be removed from the site! SHAME on NEXTDOOR for refusing to remove it but when someone counters it with the facts--that is what gets removed!

I couldn’t be more pleased with the work done installing my home battery backup system. The project was complex, but James, owner of Electech Lighting and Electric, in Lincoln City, OR, handled it with a high level of professionalism and expertise. He was extremely thorough, took the time to consider my concerns, and clearly explained each step of the process. His communication was excellent, and he patiently answered all of my questions, which gave me complete confidence in the installation. I highly recommend his services.

I wrote a political post and posted it to three different political groups I'm in, as required by the site. I unchecked the option of sending my posts to everyone. While 2 of my posts went to the groups I specified, the third went to the general feed. I contacted the site to let them know this was a mistake. I received no response from them whatsoever--this after being a faithful member of the site for years, and also serving as a REVIEWER. I contacted them a couple of days ago to ask how long my account will be disabled--they disabled it because of the one post that went to the general feed. I just received a response from them saying I can ask for my account to be reactivated ONE YEAR after it was disabled. So I can't even ask to be reactivated until December 2, 2026. This is over-the-top ridiculous, especially considering my long history with them. They don't need to worry, I won't be requesting reactivation. I have far more important issues to worry about than one site that goes completely OVER THE TOP over such a minor issue. I've never been treated so shabbily in my life, after a long history with a site--not just as a member, but also as a REVIEWER. I'll not go back for more of such abuse. And experience with their site has proven that communicating with their admin staff is as good as talking to a brick wall. They are anything but helpful.

I was, at first, very pleased with this platform. It was helpful in assisting me to locate various contractors for household projects I needed done. However, after posting supportive comments regarding Renee Good and dispelling misinformation about immigration, my account was indefinitely suspended over the way my name is listed in my profile. I used my first name and the first initials of my middle and last names. I do so for safety and privacy reasons. If my user name was such an issue, dropping me an email to request that I verify myself would have been an easy fix. Suspending it was an unnecessary step.
I've had this account for well over 2 years and other than being cussed at, I never had an issue. Until now. Too coincidental I'd say.
In any event, as far as I'm concerned NextDoor can keep my account suspended.
I prefer not to be associated with a platform that has racist, stereotyping, and biased neighbors as its members. I was fine before NextDoor and I'll be just fine afterwards.

I've finally caught on to how Nextdoor.com operates. Only far-left liberals are allowed to speak their mind and they do in the most disgusting, name-calling ways. The moderators just look the other way about that. And if you comment back to the rude insults as politely as possible; your comment gets hidden. It is seriously unbelievable. Clearly if you state easily verified facts that contradicts one of the name-calling liberals; YOU will be silenced. I wish I could give them ZERO stars. I like discourse with area neighbors, but under the absurd moderators, I can't stand another day of that site.

Used to be a great app now they’re more worried about making money from advertisements then being a neighborhood app
Also, they let these stupid liberals block content because it hurts their feelings when the content was not breaking the guidelines

Censorship and Anti Conservative Bias!

The politics threads are pathetic. There’s a “Lead” aka Monitor named Alex who is a mentally unstable Trump hater there, she targets anyone who is not a fellow Trump hater, reports them and gets them kicked off the site. If you dare challenge the lies and defamation she posts about the president, she will never respond with facts (because she’s incapable) and you’ll soon find yourself getting messages saying you’ve been reported for “violating the rules.” Yet Alex is permitted to bully, name call and violate the rules because she’s a liberal.

From the very beginning I encountered many right wing MAGA posts polluting threads, some of which were entirely MAGA trolls (echo chamber). When bored, I'd take them apart with factual arguments, calling them out for their lies.
An entire thread would consist of this BS and when I'd post, I was notified of not following guidelines and not being abusive, and click on "publish as is" while the entire thread was political and abusive. As a result of doing so, more and more sane people would enter the conversation and then the thread would be shut down. Sometimes it would continue but 'reply' would be greyed out (for me) while MAGA trolls would be able to reply to me. To comment further was not available yet MAGA comments kept coming in, telling me the mods were actively involved.
Toss in the many scam ads that now litter the site, suckering in the low IQ crowd and that's how Nextdoor is making some of its money.
After one long and slightly contentious thread on an ICE agent killing a neighbor, I woke up to a suspended account. Will Nextdoor go the way of X and allow nazis and child porn? I hope not but one thing for sure is I'm glad I won't be there to see it if it does.

Terrible excuse for an online platform to share info with neighbors. Their decisions what to post and what to remove are vague, discriminatory and biased.

To say they are left leaning doesn’t describe their behavior. I tried to identify vandals that vandalized my property during the week of Christmas. I was suspended twice for showing videos of the vandals. They protect criminals at the detriment of law abiding homeowners. They are worse than useless!

Moderator’s are biased and have no interest in any explanation of what your intent is. Won’t waste my time any longer on this garbage site.

Garbage platform. Lists things that are not allowed to be posted in public view yet allows people to post all sorts of cherry-picked Bible quotes, which is listed.

Suspended for saying illegals knew that what they were doing was illegal and now the law is catching up to them. Telling the truth is evidently not accepted on nextdoor. LMAO. Welcome to the new year! Same as the old year.

This site is only good for lost pets and giving free items to the community.

The site is absolutely FAR LEFT. They have no respect for RIGHT opinions. The moderators are 99% butt wipes and have no tolerance for freedom of speech. I hope the app gets shutdown like the Craigslist personals.
