Steer clear of Nexamp!
It's a scam. You get a small electricity discount. They claim 15%. But you can never break free of them. We cancelled in February but they continue to charge and insist we received some benefit from them, even though we've been producing our own power since March. My next steps are the Attorney General and the Public Utility Commission.

When you joined Nexamp, we reviewed your historical electricity usage to assign a share of one of our solar farms, sized to offset about 90% of your annual needs. Your share produces clean energy monthly, and your utility applies the corresponding solar energy credits to your electric bill. Nexamp then invoices you for those credits separately at a 15% discount, which is how you receive savings.
In Maine, community solar credits are based on solar production, not your specific usage. This means during summer months you may generate more credits than needed, and those excess credits are stored in a credit bank for future use. Our program is best suited for customers who don’t already generate their own electricity, and we always encourage customers to let us know about major usage changes so we can adjust or guide accordingly.
Please note that we processed your request in February, but per the Early Termination section of your agreement, cancellation through the utility can take up to 90 days. This means you may continue to receive solar credits — and corresponding invoices — through May. Additionally, Nexamp bills in arrears, after receiving confirmation from CMP that credits were applied. As a result, some invoices may arrive after your cancellation request, but they reflect credits already used to reduce your bill.
That said, we are committed to resolving your concerns and will be reaching out to review your account in detail. They seriously lack transparency
They seriously lack transparency! Their billing is deplorable if you chose to pay by check. They actually lost one of our checks.
And there customer service is less than adequate with foreign speaking personnel that are next to impossible to understand.
When we had enough and started the cancelation process, we were told it would take up to 3 months to complete. Now we are 3 or 4 months beyond the original 3 months, still being charged, though clearly we are paying in full to our electric provider CMP.
Everytime we have contacted them about this issue we are told something different than before and we still would be receiving one more bill before we would be canceled.
It is an absolute rip off!!!!! And the savings was minimal.
We will never recommend them to anyone!!!!

Our community solar savings balance out over the year given that higher production in sunny months offsets winter lows. Because Nexamp invoices only after CMP confirms the credits on your electric bill, a brief delay between credits and our invoice is normal and ensures you pay only for verified credits at your guaranteed discount. If you cancel, CMP may take up to 90 days to remove the subscription, so credits—and matching Nexamp invoices—can continue during that window, as noted in the agreement and cancellation notice. You can review statements, set up autopay, or pay by phone or check through our customer portal, though mailed checks naturally take longer to post. We also want to note that every representative receives the same training, and we remain committed to clear, respectful service.

When l received the proposal to join this Solar farm program I was a little skeptical but then l read the entire information about it & I'm thrilled about it. My bill has already cone down $23. / mo.
