Newham council is an absolute disgrace. Incorrect council tax demands sent, no email address to contact them, constant mismanagement and poor communication.

After selling my flat in Newham two months ago I was delighted at the prospect of never having to deal with them again... And yet, despite filling in the online 'moving out' form and alerting them over the phone that I no longer owned a property in the area, I have just received another council tax demand from them! Which means I will have to spend two hours on hold to explain ONCE AGAIN over the phone that I no longer own a property there. Shockingly inept

Run by people with no clue about the Law. Legal services got their degrees on cereal box's. Social Services,Housing,Repairs,ASB, all run by idiots who have no training or understanding of UK Law.

They do however move criminals look after criminals and cover up fraud. The only thing Newham love is Money and stole thousands under two decent home upgrade schemes when they never did the upgrades. This council needs to be in Government Control and all heads of departments need to be sacked and then prosecuted much like their Mayor. They hate disabled people and vulnerable adults and think they are immune to the laws we all abide by. They cover up for each other and lie all time.

This review is specifically for the the Newhsm dog warden. Although not in her jurisdiction she provided valuable help in getting through to the barking dog warden, without her help I would not of been able to report a stray dog in barking park.

You guys are the best. Upgrade on bathroon which took a few days to do. Big promotion and more pay. This is a very important reviews for NEWHAM COUNCIL that please remember how did HILLINGDON COUNCIL harrassement us for funding looted robbed theft Government funding. If this bad practices not again repeated. I guess near about more two hundreds of thousands pounds scammed by the Govt funding reported my name lies. 400 pages complaints which was A to Z full lies. Then last Court hearing date Court ran off folded their wings rang off even though wasn't continued until evening. Totally false couldn't be believe any other Countries could be this much dishonesty scams fraud. I wasn't capable to looked after my only one Child this was the Case. So who looked after my Child Children's Social services or Adults. Forced to bought so many furniture's begged to family members for nothing our rented Council house furniture's so ashamed lower quality of streets Slamdogs works they did. Proper complaints by the MP CITIZENS ADVICE BUREAU NHS DR SALMAN GAUHER given more polished lessons who looked after my child and why not I wasn't able to looked after my Child also his father. So this times I guess CAR Crimes new methods policies so any harrassement to fraud cheats to LEGAL AID funding falsely would be given again polished actions also no legal aid for harrassement. Govt funding no more will be left for acting Criminalism. Culprits Criminals gangs are very active but shows doesn't known anything about my Council house Currupted grabbed looted robbed theft our all belongings and this was their planned. So excuse me please be proud that myself I do not have any interest to get anything nothing under the NEWHAM COUNCIL this is enough how much I received twice huge Fines theft my both Car. Still now my Car is inside the CAR POUND and I am happy to go Court for getting my vehicle back even though just one tyre. It is impossible to reach to the council to explain a situation regarding council tax. if you call, the queue is over 200!!!. can you even believe that.. if there is no one works there, why should we pay for council tax. there is no channel of communication at all. This is getting worse as it used to be someone you can talk to via phone or someone replies via email. Now it just seems hopeless.

I was visiting a sick relative at night in February and turned into Bective Road as I had done in past and in a week got a fine as they made it part of that LTN scheme, Good for Dulwich residents stopping the Council there. I live 80 miles away and this was introduced without any blocks installed and I gather fining a lot of people unfamiliar with the LTN scheme.

Can you believe what Newham say on their website?
"If you have to live in a second property for your job, your main home is elsewhere and you pay council tax on your main home, you can claim a 50% discount on the second property."
No because if you claim the discount you are told: only if the "dwelling provided by a person's employer for the purposes of performing their work".
1. Why does the website not say that?
2. Why does it not apply to people who own property where they stay during the working week?
3. I wonder who can claim that discount because it's quite niche .... would it apply to MP's for example?

Newham has definitely deteriorated with this last mayor. Rubbish everywhere and when you report it, they make excuses. Every staff member I've spoken to seem ignorant and it's too much bother to help.
As for the regeneration, it's an outrage! In my opinion it's social cleansing. For families who have lived here their whole lives, being pushed out!
My friend and I visited the housing department in Forty Acre Lane, to enquire about regeneration updates, as we receive absolutely no updates (which was agreed in the initial charter), to be told by a housing officer 'What actually is the regeneration, I've never heard of it!' Honestly, it sounds far fetched but true, I've even complained to Sarah Ruiz about this.
I wouldn't even give Newham council one star, if it gave the option!

I have lived my whole life here it’s never been paradise but life was much better before the new mayor arrived on the scene.
The vibe I get from this woman is that she is narcissistic and power hungry and racist to true patriotic hard working British people and is hell bent on turning newham in to a dystopian nightmare which she has achieved and got a OBE for it.

Literally does anybody actually work here? I have been calling about my council tax and trying to get it fixed for SEVEN MONTHS and I cannot get anybody to pick up the phone. You can’t do anything useful in your online account and nobody picks up the phone. So frustrating. They’ve taken 6 months of council, not registered they’ve taken it and have now started charging me again! I need a refund and to close the 24/25 year but totally impossible to contact!!!

One of the worst councils ever, they are trying to charge me a council tax from a house that I was not living, trued to contact them but the staff were very rude and even with proofs they carried on with the process and hired an enforcement agent.

Also another person is Aled Richards involved in the department of the council. To Abi Abago, in your both private and personal capacity as person appointed as the Chief Executive. I bring to your attention the wrong and unacceptable practices of Newham Animal Welfare. I’m extremely disappointed with Newham Animal Welfare Services. I dropped off a lost female French Bulldog at their facility yesterday morning around 9:30 and was told to call for updates. Since 9am today, I’ve made multiple calls, been put on hold with no response, and left four voice messages — but I’ve heard nothing back.

Their opening hours are 8am–4pm, so there’s no excuse for this level of unresponsiveness, especially when the wellbeing of an animal is involved. I expected better from a public service responsible for animal care. This lack of communication is unacceptable.

They wont help me. The social worker Trish i spoke to she refused why cause I am not a council resident snd i should pay over 3 thousand pounds for the damages in my flat. Those damages were caused by the flat above me. My leak is going through eletricity they did not care. Flat 10 storey street e16 2lt has massive leakage. It damaged my celling. Why should I suffer and pay for the cost that the flat 10 caused . Cause they are council and I pay high rent unacceptable this is a biased .Because I am a tenant who pays high expensive rent and my flat got damaged by the flat sbove me. Flat 10 are in council. I pay rent . I am mot important and my issue wont be helped that was what ghe social worker said. This is unacceptable. Not satisfied at all
