No one answers calls
I have been trying for weeks to lower my overdraft limit and nobody can help me. Every time i phone into the call center i get transferred and NOBODY answers the call. It absolutely baffles me how a bank can operate like this. Its the worst customer experience i have ever had. There is no way on earth i would recommend Nedbank to anyone.

A brief background: On the 21st of October 2025 the transferring attorneys requested Nedbank to close the investment account number of ######## with the request that the funds plus interest accrued be available on their trust account on the 25th of October 2025 as they expected registration of the transfer. To date, the payment does not, according to my attorneys, appears in their trust account. On the 6th of November 2025 (last week Thursday), the transfer registered at the Deeds Office. My attorney presented the guarantee to Nedbank to pay the cancellation amount in respect of my bond. My attorney advised me that no debit amount reflects in his trust account. Due to the above, my attorney is unable to make their final calculations in respect of the balance due to me. I needed to escalate this matter that became extremely frustrating and remains unresolved despite multiple follow-ups and assurances. The issue concerns the transfer of property and the associated fund distribution. Despite engaging with your team Nigel Pypers and Ettienne Victor, there has been no noticeable progress. Both of them are making empty promises and I can’t understand where or what is the hold up. Nigel is hopeless. Ettienne is hopeless. I then finally reached out to Ashrinee, which is the regional manager Ettiene reports to. But oh my gosh, more hopeless. I thought Ashiree could do something, but the situation went from bad to worse. Three grown men work in an industry with experience and none of them can help. And I bet no one is going to take accountability. They are going to blame "the system", "confidentiality", "processes needs to be follow" and and and and. The higher I go in seeking help within Nedbank, the more dysfunctional it gets. Don't let me even start with Nigel, because he is the root cause of this mess. Nigel Pypers and Ettiene Victor made so many empty promises (I have evidence of this). I'm not even sure they knew they were lying. It's never their fault. I suppose it's "the system" again. To date: The funds have been reflected in the trust account, but the attorneys are unable to make any payment due to the lack of an updated statement from Nigel Pypers. After weeks of waiting, this matter is still not resolved. This is sickening to the core! Nedbank you are really the worst bank ever! I'm disgusted at your services!!!!

Worst Banking Services - Nedbank
One of the worst banks out there, Booked a car , holding deposit was taken then released 2 days later and then retaken 3 weeks later. Phoned card authorisation and they say it was an issue with Nedbank. But take a guess, The dumb ass at Nedbank says I must call the vehicle hire company to resolve, let me get this straight , Nedbank stuffs up I must resolve? Does Nedbank not understand accountability? Should close shop if that is how you treat your customers. Over and above the actual charge for the vehicle also went off my account.

I wish I could give them 0 stars! My mother passed away 7 years ago! Going on 8 years and we still haven’t completed her estate! This took years and years of agonising, begging and pleading to close up the estate. So much money wasted on lawyers fees! We finally closed the estate last year May, but still waiting on tax. It’s never ending. A whole year and a half for them to sort the tax assessment. Utter bull! Never let a bank run your estate. Pay for a private lawyer, will cost you less.
Nedbank used to be an excellent bank
Nedbank used to be an excellent bank, and I was proud to be associated with them. Sadly, this is not the case anymore. I tried to cancel insurance policies by calling the number provided on their website. They could not find the policies on the system, and I got transferred to somebody else. The process of explaining, proving identity etc were repeated just to be transferred again. Same story and transferred again till the call was cut of. I tried again but the whole thing then started from scratch. Goodbye Nedbank.
Your investment is not safe with Nedbank!
⚠️ Extremely disappointed with Nedbank. Fraudsters stole my father’s R1 million investment after opening a fake account in his name. Ten weeks later, no feedback, no accountability, no resolution. How can anyone trust a bank that ignores its clients?
On 07 October 2025 my Nedbank account…
On 07 October 2025 my Nedbank account was debited 8 times at R 35.00 for what is called a "PHONEBANK AA PAYMENT FEE"
Nedbank confirmed it was processed in their error and it would be reversed, It is now 11 October 2025 - 5 days later and still nothing has been done.
Needless to say there was no curtisy sms or email stating the problem let alone resolving the issue.
It took me having to see this error on the nedbank app and called 3 times each with a different answer and reason.....LIKE REALLY
Change your banking provider people, Nedbank is slowly going down the drain, way to many problems with the app, shit customer service and no clear answers, this tells me how are they managing my money.

Activation has been pending for two months. Had to go to the branch about 8 times and called them more than 10. Everytime another problem. They are not connected. Cash Withdrawal from Nedbank
Trying to withdraw cash from Nedbank is a nightmare and the fees to withdraw cash is absolutely insane. After banking with this bank for so many years, definitely moving, what a total scam. Unbelievable that you cannot withdraw your own money, for each R1000 rand you want to with with they want to charge you R100. totally unbelievable
Bad service
I opened a 2nd bank account as I bought a car from MFC and was informed there will be a kickback, I was assisted by MFC to have the account opened, when on collecting the card it was sent to the wrong branch, I visited Nedbank Rosebank to collect my card, I was treated like rubbish, I walked out.
2nd time went to Nedbank Northgate and the service was excellent, I was issued a new card on the spot. It happened that my card was declined and went to Nedbank Rosebank, reception was great but the gentleman assisted me had a grumpy attitude, when I managed to sort out the issue he turned around mumbling and when I said pardon he rudely said, you used the wrong pin that's why and walked away. I will definitely move my investment and debit account to where my business will be appreciated.
My husband has legal power of attorney
My husband has legal power of attorney, done by a lawyer and notary, because his mother is very ill and fragile and Nedbank would not help him just with a simple statement and discussion - they said the POA doesn't count and his Mom (who is not mobile) must either come into the bank or my husband must apply for curatorship!

I'm going to change banking with them -I've had multiple times that money is fraudulently taken from my account and their customer service is absolutely useless and of no help.

Went to Jabulani mall Nedbank to fica our account. This is the bank I served for years and it used to pride itself with service. What I experienced was shocking. 1stly it was a Thursday, everyone was wearing some khakhi pants and takkies as if they are going to work at a farm. Takkies automatically changes the way you move it was like we are served by tsotsis and the service was takkie standard. Banks used to be a corporate world.
The waiting time was close to two hours while the screen in front of us kept fluctuating. I asked one of the consultant if the time showing was our approx time, she said she does not know. I asked her if she has an idea of how long will we wait she answered with a very serious face, we will be served once they are done with people they helping she does not know when.
Eventually it was our turn, another non smiling agent sitted on a small table right in front of everyone walking in and out with a smallanyana tablet started the process. She struggled with what seemed as slowness of the system. 35 minutes later she needed to go sign on inside a cubicle, 15 minutes later she called one of us. Another 20 minutes became clear the transaction cannot be cocluded because the system is down this is Thursday the 24 Jul 2025. We asked if we should use the account in the interim she said no tomorrow she will call me once the system is back if there is a need to come back or she will complete whatever is remaining.
Later that day she calls to say the system is still down and we cannot come back tomorrow but only on Saturday because she is on leave on Friday. To which I asked is there nobody that can do that in your absence. The answer was NO because other agents also have their work so there is no other way but wait for her, or pray nothing happens to her. she did call Saturday to confirm it was done.
1. Since when does the bank close shop because of a person?
2. Since when has the bank stopped being corporate?
3. Since when banks have cold consultants who can hardly smile and be warm?
4. Why do we no longer have a safe space to discuss than served as if we are buying at street vendors?
5. Since when has the bank felt so comfortable with such a long waiting time?
I verbalized that even the image of that bank looked like a cheap shebeen, multiple colors of chairs and the pallets sitting that one cannot even lean on considering that the time is so long.
Nedbank must up its socks and claim its respect back by professional customer service of warm staff that are dressed as if they respect our money. My level of disappointment is on another level.

Its satisfactory with room for improvement
I have never had any major issues with the bank, most of the things I needed were handled very well except for a minor inconvenience that i experience in May. My card was expiring at the end of may, i went to the Mandeni branch where i was residing at the time but the card machine there was out of service for more than 2 weeks.
