Go elsewhere for your travel insurance. Nationwide are now using Aviva as their insurer/underwriter. I have found Aviva impossible to deal with.

Appalling Travel Insurance with Flex Plus account
I had to make a claim in July as my son ended up in hospital in Greece. Although the insurance would have covered medical expenses I went on line and managed to save them the money by using the Global Heath Card. So that left other expenses. The cover is limited so all I could claim for was accommodation and additional travel expenses together with £25 per day in hospital. I have just been informed that a minimal payment should be received within 5-7 days after over 2 months going back and forth. They have not included my taxi fares to and from the hospital each day even though the policy should cover it. I now have to spend more time trying to get this resolved. The policy covers very little so probably best to get a proper insurance cover rather than rely on the bundled insurance with a Flex Plus account.
Abysmal home insurance
Abysmal home insurance. Had top cover with nationwide for years, paid a fortune never claimed once. Had a water leak, had valuer out priced up damage about £2500, went to agree it then they have now sent it to the investigations team to have a video interview to see whether my claim is genuine. My 2 yr old bathroom had a drainer damage getting out the bath which was accidental , and leaked right into my 2 yrs old lovely living room, last thing I needed to deal with , without them accusing me of actually doing it on purpose. Absolutely disgusting trying to get out of paying! Still to see whether they will pay up not a stress you need when claiming to rectify your house. Paid today myself to fix broken bath as need it working for kids and dangerous issues left by the leak so not to cut little feet as I don’t feel by reading the reviews it’ll be resolved anytime soon.Disappointed, upset, stressed is an understatement. Formal complaint made to nationwide, RSA and whoever this investigation team is. Stay very clear, even considering closing all my accounts and investments with nationwide as I feel so let down.
I was really let down my Nationwide…
I was really let down my Nationwide Travel Insurance. My hotel room was robbed and in all 3500ish worth of stuff taken. They gave me 638 back. They were not supportive. Hard to get through too. It’s probably in the small print somewhere that I’d only get this so if you have Flex plus be warned read deep. Better still get another provider as I am.
Worst insurance ever
If I could give zero!!! Nationwide is the worstest insurance ever, they have bunches of customers service agents that have no knowledge or interested in your issues, their adjuster omg never available and nobody know nothing when it becomes making claims. Nationwide is the only insurance that unable to obtain police report to verify incident, they claim to not knowing when to get it after 30days wow, I drop off 2022 highlander insurance can only pay car rental to give me 2021 hunda Elantra car dirty so small can fit car seat pls the fact that I have paid rental car on my insurance for over years without claim. This insurance is Terib leeeee runnn plus insure home and can’t give a decent car to fix coalition. Can wait
Ordered a replacement card on the 13th…
Ordered a replacement card on the 13th July, its now the 11th August and I still don't have my card. 4 phone calls later and despite confirming my address and account details I'm still no further forward. I have no access to my money, my banking app for this card has been disabled. The first 2 phone calls did not result in a card being sent out as it wasn't until the 3rd phone call that they informed me that they held duplicate accounts for me. By the 3rd phone call I was reassured that this had all been sorted out and that my card would be with me within 5 working days. Its now the 11th August and I still have no card! I've been told that a replacement is now on its way, I've been told this 4 times now, so I have no faith that this is going to appear. I am receiving post as normal, so no issue there.

Nationwide providing poor service... Have an open claim for townhome kitchen fire that occurred in July of 2022. Renovation ongoing in August of 2023, using Nationwide associated project management company, renovation ongoing for 12+ months.
Renovation has been slow. It has been 12+ months since the claim in July of 2022. It's now August of 2023 and the renovation is ongoing. The estimated timeline for completion was the end of April 2023(?) May, June, and July of 2023 have come and gone
and we're now in August. The renovation continues at a slow pace with delays. The current delay is the new cabinetry in the kitchen. Not all of the cabinets came in and some of the parts are missing and are wrong... More delay.
The project management team for the renovation is the one Nationwide recommended and who Nationwide has a relationship with(mistake: pick your own project management company. They will work for you and not the insurance company).
Nationwide has been paying a rent loss payment for the property every month. They haven't paid the rent loss for July.
Contacted the adjuster in July and requested the rent loss payment. Contacted customer service last week and have not heard back. Contacted the manager of the adjuster 2 days ago and left a voice mail message. The adjuster hasn't responded. The manager hasn't responded. Customer service hasn't responded. They haven't called. They haven't emailed.
Communications with the adjuster have been poor. The adjuster has talked on the phone once in last 4 or 5 months. And it was only because he was answering my phone call. I've communicated 3 or 4 times a month for the past 8 months.
The renovation project is behind schedule by 3 or 4 months. The renovation has been going on for 12+ months. Nationwide is hard to work with. Nationwide has poor communications.

If I could give it a 0 I would and I NEVER leave bad reviews. But, after months of filing a claim, 3 different doctors notes, and all of the forms they asked for and then some they still denied our claim. You essentially need a life threatening emergency to happen prior to your trip is what I gathered from the responses we received. My wife became pregnant a few months after we booked a trip to Mexico for a family wedding. We fully intended on going but as the trip came closer my wife was told by her doctors not to go for multiple reasons.
1. The pregnancy overall and being 6 months pregnant.
2. Zika concerns.
3. She was diagnosed with a protein s deficiency which when pregnant can cause life threatening blood clots. This is exacerbated by altitude and long flights.
Nationwide told us that because she didn’t have Zika it wasn’t a reason for reimbursement. You get Zika by traveling to a place with Zika, like Mexico!
Nationwide also told us that since she didn’t have a blood clot that wasn’t a reason for reimbursement too. Again, our doctor wrote a note that clearly stated she could not travel because the flight increased the risk for life threatening blood clots. We are not going to travel or put my wife and unborn daughter at risk for death when the doctors tell us not to.
Nationwide doesn’t care.
But all of these risks and doctors notes and medical visits weren’t enough for nationwide and for that reason it’s a very poor decision for anyone to purchase travel insurance through them and we never will again.

The fire can be seen from the hotel and as we all know with Greece atm the fires are spreading
My party is 19weeks pregnant
It’s not safe nor enjoyable
But as our hotel itself isn’t effected at the time of departure
We are not covered!

I am so greatfull to Nationwide for their excellent anti scam awareness. I stupidly got scammed on Facebook one evening and by the next morning at 8am I get a text message to contact them due to potential scam alert in my account. The Scammers had attempted to debit my account of hundreds of pounds but were not successful as nothing showed in the pending section of my account. When I told nationwide about the transaction that I had made the evening before they said they would try their best but to not get my hopes up and if they were successful, then money would be returned within 20 to 30 days
With this the money was back in my account 24 hours later and for that I am so very greatfull - Thank you nationwide for being so vigilant and also helping me with a stupid mistake that I hope I will not make again.
Loyal customer, 7 years, Mortgage port refused, now lost new home
I have been a Nationwide customer since 2017, I have sine re-mortgaged twice with them and had a good experience. However, I fell into some financial difficulties back in 2019 but have always paid my mortgage, I have never missed a payment. We are now looking to move to a new property but unfortunately Nationwide are refusing to port our mortgage because of a default on another account in 2019, we appealed the decline and explained that the debt would be paid off from the sale of our current property and we aren't actually looking to borrow much more money for the new property but it was still brushed off. For Graham at Nationwide this is just an answer of yes and no but for us this is us trying to build a new future with our children and pay off our debt to start fresh. With the way thing's are in the world nowadays with finances and mental health you would think that a big company like Nationwide would help their loyal customers but this experience just proves that we are just another number to them, loyalty means nothing.

Zero star. Follow up on my attempt to reach customer service for help with the pay matrix yesterday (nearly an hour of holding, when I was told about 10 minute wait time. Nobody came to the phone). I tried calling again today, first thing, 9:05 am. I was told I have a 3 minute wait time. I am still on hold as I am typing this, and it is 9:29am on my watch.

I paid $119. for an oil change at jiffy lube on april 24. On May 17 my engine seized up. I was told by the Buick dealership that the oil Filter was not put on properly. There was oil all over my undercarriage, as noted by the picture taken.Jiffy lubes insurance company is NATIONWIDE. jIFFY LUBE sent their manager to look at my car and told him to take the oil filter off, and take it with him. Why ,I do not know. Chris Barrett, the adjustor told me he has 30 days to complete an UNBIAS inspection of my car.He denied the claim, saying I drove 1500miles after the oil change. Synthetic Oil life span is 6000 miles, if the employee at Jiffy lube ,did their job right.Why did the oil come out?I did not have a leak before the oil change. Chris Barrett and Joseph Goonan,are not telling the whole story. If the job was done correctly there would have been no leak. I contacted my Insurance company USAA, and they said they have never heard of such a thing as this. I hope Chris and Joe enjoy their bonus, and I can only wonder ,how many people that they have screwed in their lives. They will get theirs.I may not get even with Nationwide, But I will get even with Jiffy Lube.All they are doing is hiding the truths. BEWARE OF NATIONWIDE AND JIFFY LUBE. they will sell their souls to the devil ,and they did?

Well working with PETER KELLY has been the worst experience ever and his side kick ROBERT EDWARD, my mom is 85 years old so I've been helping her with the insurance and I cannot get a call back. they have raised her insurance almost to the point she can't afford to live there. this started 10/25/2022 and continues to this 11th day of July 2023. read reviews...Update as of 8/1/23 I spoke with Mark then Peter called me and apologized he took care of everything, sent me and e mail with revised proposal everything looks like it will be taken care of. Although it took a while it will finally be finished. So for what it is worth, I wanted to update the review. And changed it to 4 stars, he explained about all the flooding claims coming in. Said things have been crazy.

I think it really depends who you get on the phone with this company, I think some of the workers are lazy. Luckily enough I got a very nice woman who phoned me back & raised payout.

Brent the investigator interviewed me, my witness, got pictures of the car that was bought on 6/10/23 from Audi of Northlake.
Hail reports and so on.
He sided with Kirk the Adjuster “saying hail hit my car in two places!! What??
That doesn’t make sense to a stupid person!
I spoke to Kirk, the Adjuster today, they still have not fixed my policy from it defaulting my coverage when you add a car and delete one! FYI beware! I told Kirk I would be leaving Nationwide he said “good deal”..
These people are why Nationwide is a horrible company and has the rating it does!
I will pick up my car if I ever hear from the repair shop!!

AVOID this nationwide home emergency insurance.
Tried to claim on home emergency for blocked outside drain , was told will send drain specialist and after waiting whole day they sent a plumber with a plunger . He said they’ll send a drain specialist with camera and jet to clear the blockage. Next day a rude intimidating staff of Nationalwide bank called and said camera and jetting not covered under home emergency and have to pay almost double the cost if I call my own drain specialist. It says on their home emergency they will help with plumbing and drainage if any emergency arises to make good again and I can’t find any reason on their terms and conditions why they would decline to clear the blockage. Avoid this insurance if you can find a better one out there . I’m worried if I need to claim on my home insurance if they will ever help me . CET were helpful but the 2 rude claiming to be from nationwide bank were sounding high handed to a customer. I hope when they approach for help similar to what I needed they get that results back so they know how it feels to be a customer.

My first insurance claim
This was the first time that I'd ever had to claim through insurance, and I found the process a smooth and efficient one. The person who dealt with my case was calm, sympathetic and efficient, guiding me and helping me to value and quantify the damage done by a fire to my bedroom.
I received the payout just over three weeks after the fire, and I can now start to get back to normal
Worst customer service associates in…
Worst customer service associates in the industry. I purchased the policy straight from them online so I got assigned a random agent when I initiated a hail damage claim and the guy didn't even know how to talk to a customer. He told me straight face that he won't get it approved whatever I do. I spoke to his manager and had the same experience. The whole company is full of people who don't care for their customers.
Customer service Sucks
Customer service Sucks! Trying to get my money out of them and they always have another excuse. I call in and the people that answer no nothing and tell you a processor will call you back, well that never happens. Stay away from Nationwide they are not on your side!
