Ah, what a delightful experience at MyCar! I booked a simple maintenance service two weeks in advance, because, you know, I like to plan my life like a responsible adult. Dropped my car off at 8 AM sharp, assuming—like a fool—that 'routine maintenance' means I’d get it back around lunchtime.
At 11:59 AM—yes, precisely one minute before they morph into pumpkins and shut down for the weekend—I get a lovely SMS: ‘Your car is ready for collection.’ What perfect timing! Naturally, I ditched everything and bolted over, because who doesn’t love a midday sprint on a Saturday? Eh?
I arrived at 12:27 PM to the glorious sight of the “Closed” sign beaming at me like a middle finger. Wait…what kind of diabolical mastermind sends a “your car’s ready” text ONE MINUTE before closing? That’s next-level evil I can’t even wrap my head around.
Oh, but it gets better. Calling the 1300 number—because surely someone can help, right?—and I’m greeted with a cheerful ‘WELCOME TO MY CAR… call us back during business hours.’ I could practically hear them laughing through the automated message. Tried calling the SMS number? Nope, “number not in service.” Texting it back? Big, fat, red exclamation mark.
Fine, I thought, maybe they left the keys at the fuel station which is in the same building. Logical, right? Of course not.
Now, after repeatedly stressing how critical it was for me to have the car over the weekend (beside weekend chores, I had a 7 AM Monday business appointment—ever heard of 'important responsibilities'?), they just locked it up without so much as an apology or even an excuse. When I finally came to collect the car, I was told I must have given the wrong phone number. Oh really? Then how, pray tell, did I receive their magical 11:59 SMS? Telepathy? Smoke signals?
To top it off, they claimed they “called me at 12:27 PM” and showed 1300 number on my phone, but it was my outgoing call! Sure. Sounds legit. Apparently, I’m at fault for everything. Thanks for the gaslighting, MyCar!
By the end of it, I felt less like a customer and more like a contestant on some twisted hidden-camera prank show. Disgusting. Assaulting. Infuriating. Pick your adjective—none of them do this circus justice.
So here’s my advice: unless you own TWO cars and enjoy the thrill of having one locked away for sport, avoid this location. Same franchise, wildly different planets. Good luck—you’ll need it!

We have been having both our cars serviced with mycar Chapel Hill over many years now and always feel that this company genuinely tries to get us the best price and offer honest advice. Work is always completed to a high standard. We would highly recommend to anyone living in the area.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Booked my car in for a service, and organised a day of leave from work and an extra day of daycare for my little one as I had no one to pick me up once I’d dropped my car off. When I arrived, I was told I wasn’t booked in. Checked my phone log and verified I had called and made a booking 10 days prior. I offered to reschedule, but they said they could fit my car in. When I called them almost four hours later to see how much longer it would take, I was told they hadn’t yet started on my car. Had to pick up my children from school, so had to leave having wasted the whole day waiting around, plus didn’t even have my car serviced in the end! Would not recommend and will never go back.

When things are working well, it is easy to give a store 5 stars. What I care about is how a store will treat you when there are problems. I don't mean always "caving" to a customers demands (they have to run a business), I mean knowing they will be fair and have understanding about a situation, and try and find a solution. I recently had a faulty part installed, but it only caused issues occasionally (crucially not when MyCar looked at it). As they could not see anything wrong with it, they would not replace it under warranty. However RACQ had seen the part when not working (and once previously when working again after failing). MyCar and RACQ were both willing to exchange information (car person to car person), and MyCar accepted that RACQ had seen the fault and performed the warranty replacement. Before RACQ involvement, we were also given information about what MyCar would need to see next time it happened to be able to agree it was faulty (given that by the time we brought the car to them it may/would be working again).

I am not sure how much others will gain trust from this review, but I personally now have a good level of trust in MyCar Chapel Hill (after having been through a few mechanics that are fine in the good times, but quick/happy to let you go if there are problems).

Called in today just before closing time with a flat tyre on my Hilux. Spoke to Steve and Max and they were only too happy to help. Great service and I totally recommend these guys for their immediate assistance and quality workmanship. Keep up the great work and customer service, which is hard to find these days.
