Very Responsive.

I was emailed about their catalog and had a specific question about something unrelated. They responded very quickly with the information which I thought was awesome!

Amazing Songs, Sound effects meh...

Honestly, they have the best selection of music I have found. The songs are all super high quality and genuinely evoke emotions which is what I am searching for as a filmmaker. The only negative is their sound effects library which is lacking and difficult to search.

Great platform, poor remediation experience

I've had a mixed experience with Musicbed. The platform itself is great - easy to use, easy to navigate, and the copyright validation system through YouTube is super fast and efficient.

I have also had a really great experience with Musicbed's support team! They're lovely, helpful, and respond to queries quickly.

However, I've had a terrible experience with Musicbed's remediation person. Despite answering all the prompts accurately when setting up our account, it turns out we were on the wrong subscription level. That's totally fine and I'm happy to be corrected. But the way the remediation person handled the situation leaves a lot to be desired:

- They emailed me a couple of times to address the issue (unfortunately, their emails ended up in my junk folder and I didn't see them - not their fault!)

- But then they simply suspended my account, locking me out of it (I got stuck in a loop where I thought the account had been hacked and/or something else had gone terribly wrong). I reached out to Musicbed support to get this resolved.

- I was informed that not only was my account suspended, but that I was technically in copyright breach (!!!!) until/unless I paid more money to upgrade my account.

- Again, I was happy to upgrade the account...but the rationale I was given was dodgy. Musicbed offered me vague and shifting reasons as to why I needed to upgrade. It was only after some argument back-and-forth that they pointed me to a specific ToS rationale, which I accepted.

- All the way along, the remediation person was unhelpful, rude, and demanding.

The TL;DR is that, while I completely accept the need for the account level change...I felt like I went through the wringer to get there. It was an awful, jarring, stressful experience.

I think Musicbed is a great platform. But I strongly urge the company to sort out its remediation approach, as it does not at all align with the rest of the experience and risks turning customers away. I am unlikely to extend my subscription after the first year, and I'm spreading the word to other creators about the experience I had, advising them to avoid Musicbed for this reason. I believe this is a net negative for Musicbed, which is very unfortunate.

To address your immediate concern, your interaction has already been flagged and coaching delivered appropriately. The conversation you had is not the norm by any means and we want to do everything we can to avoid repeats of similar situations. I know this does not make your poor experience better, but I hope it gives you confidence knowing that we take those interactions (and your experience) seriously!

Protecting our artists' work (and protecting you from any accidental infringement) is of the utmost importance to use, which is why these conversations may feel fraught at times, but I agree that strict adherence to copyright law should not necessarily create a negative experience for you.

I’ve been using Musicbed for the past…

I’ve been using Musicbed for the past five years, and it has consistently elevated the quality of my work. The music library is exceptional—cinematic, emotional, and well-curated—but the recent addition of sound effects to the membership has been a game changer. Having both music and sound in one place has streamlined my workflow and added a whole new layer of polish to my projects. Musicbed continues to feel thoughtfully built for professional storytellers, and I couldn’t be happier with the value it provides.

Impossible to cancel subscription

While the service is okay, Music bed will trap you into an inescapable subscription. They make it impossibly difficult to cancel your subscription and charge you $114 in order to cancel. So if you are considering MB as a temporary or trial solution then look elsewhere.

- Since they replied, ask yourself, "Why would I be limited to being able to cancel my subscription to 30 days prior to the renewal period?" The only answer is that they intentionally try to make it as difficult as possible while being able to say, "technically we give you a small window to cancel your subscription!" This is a DIGITAL service, it should not require a cancelation window or cancelation fee to cancel the service. It's just shady business practice that I hope to bring to light so less people get scammed like me.

All subscriptions are set up to renew automatically unless the renewal is turned off (which can be done at any point starting 30 days before the renewal date). We make sure to send a notice of the upcoming renewal as soon as that window opens. I'd love to hear if you had trouble receiving that notice of renewal or managing the automatic renewal?

Any payment required upon cancellation would simply be the remaining balance owed on your annual term- we do not charge any additional fees on top of the existing balance. In your case, this amount was discounted from the actual balance owed.

Musicbed took me seriously as an artist right from the beginning!

Musicbed gave me a quick and sincere response to my inquiry about how I can best share my music with them. It made me feel they were taking me seriously right from the beginning. No condescending vibe at all and that says a lot about a company that works in such an insanely competitive space. I can't recommend their services highly enough.

Horrible subscription trap

They will trick you to a yearly subscription (with 12 installments being the fine print) to a music subscription service that doesn't match their -many- competitors in either quality or value.

Hi Musaab, really sorry to hear you were not satisfied with how we communicated the annual term! We try to underline the annual nature at multiple points of the checkout flow, and have a separate checkbox to acknowledge the annual agreement before you're able to make a purchase.
