I was really interested in this opportunity to dog walk and pet sit. I even sent MTM Pet Care a nice email saying i was grateful to have been accepted. They asked me to fill out a form which led to paying £199… this states for uniform and a course. I thought something wasn't right as most employers pay for your education.
I looked up the reviews for MTM Pet Care and saw it was a scam and people have been scammed. I emailed expressing my concerns about the reviews i had found online to MTM Pet Care. In a polite manner may i add. To which they replied ‘we have decided to withdraw your application. We wish you all the best in the future’.
Says it all, doesnt it?!

I asked them to answer a couple of questions before I went on with my application due to reviews and past employers before I paid the £200 pound fee
I raised my concerns to them about reviews and scams
My emails back was they have withdrew my application and that I should pay a fee before any of my questions are answered (I have all the emails screen shotted so more than happy to send anyone them over before deciding to carry on with this company) but as you can see for your self’s with the reply’s to all there bad reviews😂proper professional honestly never seen anything like it
Absolutely disgusting. You’ve also proved my point with that response that’s my enquiries should be answered before going further with the application… WELL REPLY TO THE ENQUIRY INSTEAD OF WITHDRAWING APPLICATION COS POTENTIAL EMPLOYEES HAVE A QUESTION 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ oh and that “emails u sent to me” is only half of the response…WHY? Guilt 💀

I’m a Pet Care Professional working with MTM Pet Care, and I wanted to leave an honest review based on my real experience. I’ve seen a lot of reviews online calling them scammers, and I can confidently say that hasn’t been true in my case.
The support team is one of the best parts of MTM. Every time I’ve contacted them, they’ve replied quickly (usually within 30 minutes) and have been genuinely helpful. The registration fee is fair in my view, especially when you understand that you’re paying into a service and running your own pet care business. MTM does a lot of work behind the scenes to find clients, support PCPs and much more.
I’ve already made back the registration fee from clients MTM referred to me, and some of those clients have since become regulars, which makes a big difference long term.
This isn’t something you can judge properly unless you’ve actually worked under MTM. You do need to invest into it and treat it like a mini business, but that doesn’t make it a scam. From my experience, MTM is legitimate, professional, and supportive if you put the effort in.
Known scammers please avoid at all costs, report their website, report their indeed post and move on with your day
BE AWARE. It seems they only decide to reply to some parts of negative reviews and choose not to acknowledge other parts. The reason you decided to withdraw my application was because I was asking too many questions and I clearly seemed hesitant with handing over £199 to you. So you then thought I was too much hassle to continue emailing and gave up.. which is what all scammers do! You also seem to reply to all reviews in a really passive aggressive manner! I haven’t seen a reply that’s sincere or polite in any way! But seem to not be happy with us talking in the same way. Most businesses keep professional and polite but not this ‘business’. AND to have hardly any trust pilot reviews for a business that’s been going for a while is very strange… AND to not have a business page on any social media in 2025?! Dodgy.

I applied on Indeed and the next day I received a text message with a link to they're website where you have to download a pdf with details. As I read the pdf found out that I have to pay 200£ as a registration fee - BIG RED FLAG. Then I go back on Indeed to check the job and the company again, and it is gone from my applied jobs - BIG RED FLAG AGAIN. Then I google them, find them on trustpilot, and you can read the reviews for yourself.
Great business model for mtm pet care, but absolutely horrible for you once you understand how they operate. You pay 200£ at first, plus 7.5£ for their "referrals" . Understand that this "referrals" don't guarantee a job, you then have to call whoever and see if they actually need you.
I think they just take advantage of people 's love for animals. If they were honest they would only charge you a fee from what you actually earn.
Just post an add on Facebook that you do dog walking, it is freee.
This is a scam! Avoid at all costs. They take a ‘registration fee’ and it sounds good upfront but it’s a scam. They have sent some people a £10 course you can buy online yourselves! They don’t send any pet services or have a network of clients. Please buy the course yourself so you know it’s legit, then use Rover and other apps that you’re guaranteed to get work from. Everyone is posting about this on Facebook and here, don’t fall for it. Do not pay them the fee! SCAM! AVOID!!!
Ignore any positive reviews, they are fake by their relatives/associates!

I’m not normally one to write reviews, but I feel it’s important to share my experience so others can make an informed decision. Before joining MTM Pet Care, I read some of the negative Trustpilot reviews. When I raised my concerns about these with the sales associate, I was reassured that they represented only a “tiny minority” of dissatisfied people, and that the company maintained an excellent reputation within the industry.
On the strength of those assurances I decided (perhaps naively) to proceed and paid the £199 application fee. I was told the referrals I would receive were not just leads, but genuine customers who had been validated and were ready to book services. Referrals were said to be checked for viability, that it was “quite rare” for a customer not to proceed, and that I could expect around 2 new customers per day to quickly fill my diary.
The reality was very different. I received only 1, occasionally 2, referrals a week and none became paying customers - all I have to show for these is the £52.50 less in my bank account in referral fees (on top of the £199 application fee I paid prior to starting). Between 11th August and 3rd October I received only seven referrals. Six of these ignored all my attempts at contact (emails, phone calls, texts), and the one person who did respond said they had already found another dog walker.
To be clear: I have no issue with MTM charging referral fees. They are transparent about this on their website, and it is normal practice in a business model like theirs. My disappointment lies in the fact that the referrals did not lead anywhere. Had it been one or two unresponsive clients, I would have understood - that happens in any business. But with every referral leading to a dead end, I feel misled by the assurances I was given at the start.
I’m grateful that I didn’t rely on MTM referrals as my sole source of income, as my business is otherwise doing well. I had only joined in the hope of topping up my client base - but even so, the experience has been extremely disappointing and feels like a huge waste of money. On top of this, I was told I would be sent a uniform, which never arrived.
Overall, I feel misled and let down. I invested money and time chasing “referrals” that were not what was promised. I cannot recommend MTM Pet Care based on my experience and would strongly advise others to be cautious before joining. That said, I can see from Trustpilot that some Pet Care Professionals with MTM Pet Care have had great success, and maybe in other areas there are higher success rates - but unfortunately it did not work out for me.
Absolutely disgusting "company"
AVOID AT ALL COSTS
I paid my ridiculous £199 fee for a £25 course, but after a day or so I changed my mind because the reviews and everything about it seemed sketchy.
Low and behold, now I want my money back they are proving that every single bad review about them is true.
"No grounds to refund or partially refund"
Even though I have taken zero steps with their so called company.
Absolutely disgraceful.
Awful. Stay well clear of this company - it’s a complete scam!
Probably one of the worst company’s I’ve ever come across. Applied to become an MTM Pet Care Professional and went through with the start up process. However they promise you clients which are not a guarantee at all and charge you £7.50 a referral when you don’t always even get work. After paying their so called £199 registration fee which a company is usually supposed to pay for anyway. I started to realise that this isn’t legit and seems like a fair few other people have the same thoughts here on trustpilot. Didn’t give them any information to start and they didn’t even send me any training to get started then when I appealed it with them they refused to reimburse me with the £199. This is how they make their money. Would strongly advise against anyone starting with this so called company. Haven’t experienced something like this before. Terrible

I seem, like the majority of people, to have had a negative experience. I fully expect an over complex legal sounding reply from MTM Pet care in a desperate attempt to look professional.
I paid all the fees, and received a £25 course. That was it. They refused to send me branded workwear and I never got on their insurance. It didn't really matter as I already run a successful canine care business , dogsdays.co.uk , and this was merely an experiment on expansion. I already have insurance, and workwear but it would have been nice to get what I had paid for delivery
The referrals I got never generated any business for me. None of the customers were interested in booking a service. Throughout this time my own website ( and bark were generating business )
I found the customer service almost threatening ,with it's obsession with speaking in legalese . I formally discussed my disability with them and asked if they could speak to me in a human manner.
I asked for a refund , they started recruiting for someone else In my area. In the end I simply gave in communicating with them and they got to keep my money.
I wouldn't recommend dealing with this company. Being already established and successful it shows that my business plan is solid , yet via MTM I failed to convert one lead into business.
I am in breach of contract , as I didn't pay for the last lead as I simply gave in attempting to communicate with them. They told me before I could even discuss my refund I had to formally cancel my contractual agreements with them. I still haven't done that.
I'm sure the reply that follows will be some attempt at sounding like a solicitor. Oh well.
Very pleased to say that I've had an excellent experience working with mtm. Easy on-boarding. Simple training. Took a few days to start getting clients but once they started coming through they've been pretty consistent ever since.
Could be easier to get through to on the phone but to be fair always quick to reply to emails.
would 100% recommend.
I wouldn’t trust this unprofessional so called company as far as I could throw them and Indeed need to be ashamed to be associated with this scam!!! Please don’t give them any money. Their words and actions do not match. My first alleged customer hung up on me. It’s all very odd. No one puts a name to any emails and no one will ring you back. If you want to be a dog walker do it on your own, Choose your own destiny on your terms because MTM are not who they say they are
Applied for the job through indeed, got it. Was then sent a bunch of emails and a request of £199 I was told would cover my training fee & uniform. I was not told about the reoccurring costs per client until after the money was sent over.
It was sadly only after I payed this money that I looked up the company and read the reviews. I applied through indeed like I mentioned above and truly believed that indeed only had verified companies on there, but clearly this is wrong as the job application disappeared as soon as I sent the money over.
After reading these reviews quoting the company a scam, I sent an email requesting the money back and explained I no longer want the job role. They said I’d hear back within 14 days from the escalations team, and what do you know.. they get back to me on the 14th day.
Within there reply, they basically stated that due to my reasoning for wanting my money back being “different” based on two separate emails I sent, they won’t grant it as “act of kindness on their side” which is just ridiculous. I’m now having to dispute the matter through my bank, as MTM claim before sending the money I signed a contract which explained all of this and the money side of things ( it did not ).
I don’t have an update yet as to if I get my money back through my banks dispute, but DO NOT apply for this job.

Having read some of these negative reviews I think people just don't really get how this works. You have to treat it like your own business. not a job.
I signed up 2 years ago having been a Dog Walker for 10 years and MTM are by far the best client referrer of all those I've signed up with. Yes, you will get clients that end up not going forward but that's the same with any company.
The difference with MTM is that they only charge £7.50 for the client and they don't charge you every time you do a walk. So when they send me a client and I walk their fur baby 2 or 3 times per week for the next couple of years, and I do still have clients now who I got right back when I first joined MTM, I've only ever paid one £7.50 for that client back when it was sent to me. The rest is mine to keep. Its a no brainer. The odd one not going through is frustrating but in the grander scheme is just the cost of doing business. The alternative is places like Rover and paying them a fee every time you provide a service. I much prefer this way.
As for the reg fee, I'll tell you now, decent insurance alone will cost you more than that and MTM include it for free along with all the training and everything else.
If you want a 9 till 5 job, this isn't for your. If you want to run your own dog walking business it's great.
It’s a scam of a company. Read the previous reviews for more details. I fell for the whole starter package deal with the course, and my second supposedly interested client told me she hadn’t even got a dog yet and probably wouldn’t be getting one. And they still tried to charge me £7.50 for providing the client!! Complete waste of money. Avoid!
I looked into MTM Pet Care with the genuine intention of joining as a dog walker — but after extensive research and direct contact, I believe this company is making hundreds of thousands a year from misleading hopeful workers.
They charge an upfront “training” fee of around £200, then hit you with recurring charges (~£7.50 per lead), even though the leads are not guaranteed to respond, book, or even exist. I checked their official records on Companies House — this business earns over £350,000 a year, yet does not provide any clear statistics on how many clients they generate per region, conversion rates, or average earnings.
When asked for these figures, they offered vague, evasive responses like “it depends on your availability,” with no proof or accountability.
There is also no social media presence, no verified community, and no real transparency into how they operate or support their so-called Pet Care Professionals.
Their Trustpilot profile itself is a red flag: there are either glowing 5-star reviews with vague praise, or brutally honest 1-star reviews describing the exact concerns I found. Ask yourself: why are there no balanced reviews? Why is no one saying “it’s okay” or “mixed”? It’s either “amazing” or “a scam” — and that speaks volumes.
In my opinion, the 5-star reviews appear to be manufactured or incentivised, as they offer no detail, no verified success, and repeat the same buzzwords. Meanwhile, all the detailed experiences come from people who’ve lost money.
MTM isn’t a platform built to support pet carers — it’s a business built to profit before you ever get a client. If you’re considering joining: don’t. Look into platforms like Rover or Tailster where you only pay when you earn, not for empty promises.
I want to warn everyone not to get deceived by this company. I feel so disappointed. They make people paying 199 for a course which with New Skills Academy costs 25 pounds. After that they send you referrals and when you try to contact clients no one never replies and then they charge 7,50 for a referral no matter if the service was provided or not. I am just wondering if the referrals are real or fabricated. IF they charge money for referral they should organize contact with a client. I haven't earn even one pound and lost so much. I requested to sign me off of them immediately.
I started this job on the 10th of march 2025, it started off okay. i didnt hear anything till the 13th of march and i was so happy i contacted right away, nothing. no reply, i told mtm but got ignored and then got sent a charge of 7.50 for referral fee even tho i got no business so i thought okay, ill let it slide, then another one comes along, on the 19th of march, never used my services and then got charged another 7.50 and i payed it. so far i have gained a £99 qualification and lost £116. after that i have since had no contact from mtm petcare and ive started my own business away from it as it seems they dont care🤷♀️dont waste your money please. it will only end in nothing.
