More than a Backpack Anmeldelser 101

My daughter asked for a Windsor backpack from More than a Backpack. They charged my card $59.99 on 12/8/23. As of today, 12/31/23, my item has not been received. I sent numerous emails trying to inquire, no response. There's no customer service telephone number. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY. They are not creditable. My bank is refunding my money and sending me a new card. The shipping information is in Chinese for a week, and then it has the package in Elk Village, Los Angeles then Indianapolis. No movement since 12/25/23. Lesson learned.

Nine days after our shipping tracking shows that our backpack cleared customs, it is still stuck somewhere in Los Angeles. Their customer service is nonexistent – when you ask what is going on, you get a template response with a non-functioning, phone number, or a recording that sends you back to the same system that didn’t provide an answer in the first place. This is not a trustworthy company.

It's such a beautiful bag, incredible amounts of pockets, comfortable to wear, great material and I am very happy I didn't have to pay a corporation.

I ordered the thing I wanted. It was delivered when they said it would be delivered. That's all you need.

The backpack has agreat quality and the color is also correct. It is Water proof and comfortable.

The bag came quickly and without fuss. The quality itself is excellent, very water resistant for my commute in Melbourne. I love the colour; super bright and obvious, you can always pick me out from the crowd. And it holds at least a week's worth of groceries at a time which is brilliant.

I bought 2 of the “leather” travel bags. They are NOT leather! Only the tags are leather. I’m so disgusted to be ripped off. This is false advertising, pretty sure it’s not legal.

This backpack has been durable and great in all weather so far. Finally found a backpack that will last for my kiddo.

My son LOVES the colour orange so to find a backpack in only that colour. There is so much room in the bag which makes it feel lighter while carrying it on his back. We're glad we came across your company!!!!!

My backpack turned up, it was rolled up, with brown dust all over it. Disgusting and unusable. No clear returns method. Evri don't know who they are. Hoping to get my money back. Smart website, poor merchandise.

The 2 stars is because they handled my refund very swiftly (probably learning from previous reviews on here). If it was just for the bag it would be 1 star.

Like previous reviews said, these bags can be found on aliexpress for 30-40% of the price. I can see they deny just drop shipping from aliexpress but I highly suspect they do. I think they take an order and then put your details in an order on aliexpress. The pictures on the listings are the exact same.

My bag arrived, rolled up and crammed inside am absolutely tiny plastic bag with no protection, from a Chinese courier. It was so small I thought it must be something else as it looked like a bag wouldn't fit in it. There was nothing in the package to suggest it was from morethanabackpack at all.

I get that that's how business works, you buy something and sell it for more than you paid. My main problem is that I feel deceived. The website comes across as a UK company with UK produced QUALITY bags. The canvas is "ok", it's the stitching, insides and straps that let them down.

The "leather" straps look so cheap and ruins the whole look of the bag. It makes the whole thing look cheap and tacky. The inside feels really cheap and "plasticy".

The website and concept looks great, but the bag doesn't live up to it at all.

Also not happy I had to pay for the return...

I found this site through my employer, spend £52 on a bag from them, and while it is a decent bag once it arrived, upon looking up the brand out of curiosity I found the exact same product on AliExpress for £30 (delivery included). These people literally ordered the item from AliExpress to my house and pocketed 22 pounds. Avoid at all costs.

EDIT: I received an e-mail asking me to provide further information or have my review taken down. I imagine they will do the same as for some other reviews on here and respond with something about these not actually being the same product as on "competitor websites". But if you look the brand of the product I received "Muchuan" you will find that the AliExpress listing is their official store using the exact same images listed on this website. In addition, the pictures posted in the reviews section on AliExpress are 1:1 the bag I purchased. The item's origin is not disclosed anywhere on the page, and the brand is also not mentioned in the listing. No matter how you spin it, this is not okay.

I bought this rucksack for £32 for my son after learning about it from another parent. The "about" section of the website says this is a family business with some charitable angle, and the images make the rucksack look like a high quality product, however it is taking ages to arrive (10 days and counting...).

Imagine my surprise, then, when I used the tracking link to discover it is being shipped direct from some factory in China and not from the company's "primary warehouse" as they claim on their website.

Given that - and the many terrible reviews here - I lost faith in this rucksack and began looking for a replacement, before it even arrived. So imagine my additional surprise when I quickly found the identical rucksack, illustrated with the identical marketing photos, for £24 on Etsy UK. Trustpilot won't let me post a link but you're more than welcome to visit the site and search on "waterproof rucksack." The seller is Uche Designs, who also imply they're a small, local business that sell locally-designed products.

This is clearly a cheap, crappy product, white labeled by a Chinese manufacturer which in turn slaps on each company's logo. Then More than a Backpack et al generate a back story about their beloved [product name goes here], et voila! In short, a cynical operation not to mention a rip off.

UPDATE 29/08/23: coincidentally, this backpack arrived today, the same day I posted my review. As I suspected it came jammed into a clear plastic bag with no tags or proper label, which was in turn jammed into a generic grey plastic bag and messily wrapped with packing tape. Avoid.

I took a chance with this online purchase, but I could not be more pleased with this backpack. It's not leather, but!.... Not only does it look and feel like genuine leather, it also smells like leather. Do they use a special spray or something? lol. Even friends are stunned when they handle it, then learn it’s not leather.

It’s elegant, spacious, and can handle a heavy load. So I'm extremely happy with my purchase. And, in comparison to other backpacks I’ve seen, this one represents tremendous value-for-money. Thank you!
