Kind customer support but unhelpful
Kind customer support but I’ve always been told they can’t help. I have had my medication be late multiple times, ran out multiple times, and am now not able to amend an accidental mistake I made on my previous prescription which is going to mean I don’t have enough medication to cover the month.
Medical cannabis is a medicine I need to go about my day-to-day life but Montu is not reliable enough for this to be possible. I take it for chronic pain and anxiety yet the Montu customer service experience causes me more stress and anxiety.
All I wanted was for my prescription to be amended as I had accidentally ordered less than my allowance but I was told that can’t happen as it’s already gone to the pharmacy. I haven’t paid for the meds yet and I don’t need them changing, I just needed it adjusting to the right dosage. I don’t understand why that’s not possible.
If this was my Pregabalin I would be severely ill from missing doses. It’s unacceptable.

Long term patient review
Just had one of my quarterly reviews and wish to say a big thank you to the pharmacist who again made my appointment feel relaxed and not judgemental when asking for an increase or alternatives.
Pharmacist was very knowledgeable and helped me navigate all options available to me.
Having been with Alternaleaf/Montu for quite a while now I can honestly say that I have never been mistreated or left feeling lack of care and have always been seen promptly and courteous.
To this date I have not had any issue with no stock availability or missed deliveries or missing items all of which are of the highest standard when they arrive and are well packaged.
The most I have had to wait for a payment link is over a weekend which is understandable and have been kept in the loop the whole way.
Also I can honestly say that the only time I have actually ran out of meds was when I took too long to book an appointment as I waited way past the date they said I could request a repeat. It helps if you plan ahead and account for that time.
As for delivery I live in a rural area and yet I still receive my prescription delivery the next day from postage. Again the only time this has taken longer was an extra day because they post office made an error.
Having had several quarterly appointments and repeats already I can safely say the ordering process is very easy and manageable for someone who isn't tech minded so don't worry about that part as they have a webchat function for you to contact them straight away with any issue and they are in my experience always willing to help resolve your issue and guide you.
Lastly my main reason for this review is to say a massive thank you for the webchat advisor I spoke to recently who went again above and beyond to make it a smooth a process as possible for me when I had several querries that I had bombarded her with :)
If anyone reads this and are still wondering if this could be for you then I suggest strongly that you just go ahead and speak to them on the phone or webchat and ask the questions your concerned about and see how you go.

Money Hungry/ Poor Service
They provided a decent service when their customer numbers were smaller and more manageable. However, as their customer base has grown, the quality of their service has deteriorated significantly. Many patients are now being left waiting far too long for their medication, with delivery times regularly exceeding their stated service level agreements.
On top of this, the quality of the flower has been consistently poor. When these concerns are raised, they are often ignored or dismissed, which is extremely frustrating for patients who rely on this medication.
Overall, the company’s standards and ethics appear to have declined. Patients deserve timely access to their prescriptions and a level of care that reflects the seriousness of their needs. Unfortunately, that is no longer the experience many people are having.
Superintendent: Nabila Chaudhri should be behind bars for making money on the vulnerable and not providing even a mediocre service anymore.

Don't use this company at all been with them 12 months and had a problem nearly everymonth and been called a liar ,laughed at and had medicine withheld because I dared to complain ,how they got there license is a mystery to me and countless others ,mediocre product and some of the vilest staff I've ever delt with infact I'd go as far as saying they make the nhs look good and that really is saying something .DONT GIVE THEM YOUR BUISNESS AS YOU WILL COME TO REGRET IT QUIET QUICKLY and if you really need your medicine I'd get used to waiting over 10 days to get anything after prescription is written and yes expect to get fobbed off repeatedly even after spending over £6000 over a year with them an to be told go somewhere else if you don't like it

Spoke to Amelia at the Pharmacy today what a kind and patient person who took the time to explain everything to me that I needed to understand as sometimes I get frustrated and overwhelmed when I don’t understand things but she honestly helped me a lot and she’s still trying to help me really appreciated. That makes a difference when staff actually listen and try to help instead of rushing you off the phone like my last company, great service much appreciation to Amelia and Montu Pharmacy

Honest review
I'd love to give a positive review, I really had high hopes. This has been my experience from purchasing my very first prescription to trying it for the first time. (I self medicated with black market cannabis daily for years). I managed to order 2 out of 3 of my 30g limit. (I had the money for all 3 but 1 was out of stock) So 20g. From paying for my order Friday, (27/02/2026) it arrived Monday.
I emailed Montu to ask what would happen with the 10g I cannot order because it is sold out they assured me it would be in stock today (Monday). And gave me a free delivery code to use once. So far it is 3pm and not in stock yet.
Now that I have seen the cannabis in person as this is my first prescription from them, I can say there seems to be something very different in look, smell, quality and potency to the stuff I am used to. (Black market cannabis, beautiful buds, smells amazing, well trimmed compact 23%-31% THC roughly, and actually helps with my medical issues)
I would say this stuff from Montu, looks like really cheap, smells pretty foul, cannabis.. It smells foisty. Seems weaker than the stated THC. Very harsh. The smell is off putting, like sweat.
Stalks, some leaves included too.
Honestly, it is the cannabis I expect to receive in the rough backstreets..
Really disappointed.
(The 2 out of the 3 I could order were Upstate gorilla glue and Upstate kush cookies).
Update: I managed to order number 3 out of 3 at 5pm Monday. Will be here by Wednesday.. Sundaze candy store cannabis.. Let's hope maybe a different company than the Upstate, is better.
A positive which is why I have gave 2 stars for my review, is my first appointment was able to be scheduled quickly and the pharmacist was a really nice, informed, respecful medical professional.

Month,alteranleaf have been great with me been since July 2025 was on morphine etc the I'm on the 100% oil or chronic pain its better than all the tablets from the doctor don't get me wrong maybe not as strong as rso etc but does the job and can function well on it ,most the flower is nice just wish it said what strains where good for pain ,insomnia etc but apart from that all good and service is great alway happy to help

Please do your best to avoid this place at all costs. I spent the months attending Alternaleaf appointments and paying the fees only to end with an appointment with a neurologist who couldn't hear me because he didn't run tests on his side as I had done prior so I couldn't hear him or he couldn't hear me. He would have heard me when I said I have a high tolerance of THC and CBD cannabis but he/they have have prescribed me only 1 choice which is 11% THC and so high in CBD that if I use it during the day during day to day living I would have been asleep in no time I suspect. I am fuming with the neurologist. Thanks for the stress right there Alternaleaf. I avoid stress at all costs usually and trusted you. If I was your companys directer I would get rid of that Neurologist ASAP.

This clinic is like Gaster, all kinds of tricks, abusers.I ordered medication on my prescription for £69 and when I went to pay I noticed that each package was £79. This happens when you least expect it, you have to be careful. This is one of many examples of the poor practices of this pharmacy and clinic.
