Charged almost 10k for a contract cancelled within cooling off period
Took a Black Friday data deal with MTN. 1TB for R699. Was assured the contract allowed data share but after testing it out, found out there's no data share on fixed LTE.
Fine, phoned MTN to cancel the contract within the cooling off period. Returned the router+UPS that came with the contract, Dealt with a company called 'Mondo' which apparently handles MTN cancellations?
I confirmed the contract was cancelled. Still got debited R924 by MTN on January 3rd, prorata for December + January cycle. Phoned Mondo and they assured me i would be refunded this amount and will not get debited again.
Here's the kicker: Got this SMS today:
"Y'ello! Just a friendly reminder that your MTN debit order of R 8450.41 will go off on 01-Feb-2023. Have a good month!"
What? What's going on? phoned MTN and they said the contract is still active and they cannot do anything from their side. I will have to deal with Mondo. How is this allowed? My contract is with MTN, how can they not have any power over this?

They first sell you lies(Gaveme a Wi-Fi deal saying I’ll get 300mb Download speed while they only give 10mb). After that they debit my account twice after cancelling on 7 days of their grace period. Guess what? Since September I’ve been call wasting over and over airtime and my credit is still not out. I think they hired even experienced scam stars because even their call centre will promise lies every time you call.

Mondo call center manager was misleading. She offered me a new contract for a lap top and saying that I have a 75% discount on the other contracts. I took the deal only for MTN to tell me that there is no such deal. I called the next day and cancelled. I am also waiting for my credit since September. The call center is no help.

I was scammed by Mondo and neither Mondo nor MTN assisted. I was called by Mondo who initially came across as MTN to upgrade, which I was due for. I was promised 8gb if anytime data and a R500 takealot voucher. The 8gb turned into 4GB anytime days, 2GB streaming and 2GB Facebook and the Takealot voucher never materialized. I was informed that the consultants were given the incorrect information which is now the clients problem. Upon rejecting this I was shouted down by the Mondo consultant. To add insult to injury, this ‘upgrade’ was added to my existing device (a laptop which didn’t even last a year before the hard drive crashed-no support was offered by MTN or HP), which I’m paying for on my previous upgrade. In the past, one upgrade has superseded by the next, they never ran concurrently. This is dubious business practice at the least. I was caught once but will not be caught again.

Can you please cancel my iphone contract before it becomes delivered because I ordered an iPhone 11 and we agreed that they will debit R461 on the 31st of every month.Now FNB sends me the agreement on my app but the monthly amount is written R1,035 monthly installment for the phone and we did not agree on that I can not accept it
On top of that I'm now given a life boost policy that I don't know anything about and so I will have to cancel the order if they do not change this installment cause I am not going to pay R 1,035 every month for an iPhone 11.
Mondo and it's non-service
I signed up for an MTN contract through Mondo, and somehow, between them and DSV, they are keeping my phone hostage and are unable to cancel the order. I've been trying to get someone to assist me for the past 2 weeks, but it's the blame-shifting game - been speaking to one consultant after the other.
Today I was placed on hold for 30mins.
I then called back, and was placed on hold AGIN, for about 20mins, and then got through to Chanté - a supposed "supervisor" who basically just wanted to speak over me, and make her own point - which was basically not wanting to take responsibility.

Went to a mtn store to find out what's going on they say they can see I was approved and the amount. If I just went to them first I would of gotten my phone the same day.

I’ve just been scammed by Mondo/MTN
I’ve just been scammed by Mondo. Someone by the name of Mathew renewed my contract without my permission. I phoned MTN and they assured me that there was no changes done. I then went to an MTN store and they told me that my contract had just been renewed by Mondo. So who’s fooling who? I was defrauded in March this year also by MTN. So I got hold of mondo and the lady said I must phone 135 to reverse the contract. When I phoned 135 they say that they cannot change it because mondo needs to change it. So here I am with no service and a contract that I didn’t want renewed. Although they have the recordings of the conversation I had with mondo not to proceed with the renewal they then shield one another and now I’m waiting as I only have 10 days to reverse this but nobody to reverse it for me. Clearly no training has been done in this sector so my best is to switch networks. Be aware of mondo and MTN fraudsters. They sit inside the company. Now they don’t even need your pin to scam you. My heart goes out to the older people who has and will fall victims to these scamsters!!!

Bloody Mondo sold me the 60GB MTN monthly Sim only deal and I approved a Debi check of R47 however they've been debiting odd amounts, the first debit was R397
Second one was R780
Third one was R1000
Whenever I try to fix this issue with them they say they will investigate
Poor Service
Stay away as far as possible from Mondo. First they sold me wireless internet from MTN, without mentioning that it is a 3 year contract. Then when there is loadshedding, their router doesn't work. I cancelled the contract in May 2022 already. 21 June they collected their router. Still they are debitting my account for a cancelled contract. I send many mails and their response is " we are investigating the matter" Poor Poor service.

Only if I new that their a scam. I was approved for a sumsung a03 core on the 24 March 2022 nd even today still waiting. I want to cancell they r not reachable. I dnt no what to do. When u try to track ur delivery it says no application was made .yet I get a message that says my order is out of stock. But still when I phone them on their phones they are unreachable. I want to cancell the darn thing. And another thing u can't apply for another contract phone cause it says already I have a contract phone with MTN. How did MTN sign with this people. My question is. MTN using mondo to scam people or Mondo is using MTN. Which one is which. I think MTN is also aware of this. Why did they keep quiet. They must SUE mondo. Blady thiefs
