Booked a trip to cancun with modern vacations and had an amazing experience. Thank you Sheba, and thank you modern vacations.

Sheba is fantastic! She did a superb job planning our family vacation! Sheba is very easy to work with and extremely knowledgeable in making recommendations for our trip to suit everyone’s needs.

Sheba was helpful when my family and I wanted to travel. She answered all the questions we needed clarity on. She walked us through every step we needed to follow before going and what needed to be done when it was time to return. She was very detailed about everything, making our trip process so smooth. I will go through Sheba when I want to plan my next trip. My family and I appreciate every she did for us when we traveled.

We were guests for a destination wedding all booked through sam @ modern.travel Everything was great leading up to the exciting long weekend with family. Once we arrived that quickly changed. We were a part of a room block at the @hardrock hotel Cancun, and paid for an ocean view. Not only did we not get an ocean room, but our view was completely blocked. Staff at the hotel confirmed we were not in an ocean room, but there was nothing we can do because we booked everything through sam @ modern.travel. We alerted Sam @ modern travel, and he asked for time to work with the hotel and get us a refund. It has been almost 40 days since Sam has responded back to us. We now cannot get any kind of response. Upon our arrival we were supposed to have a ride from the airport to the hotel, there was no one there for us, and we waited for 40 minutes. Would not recommend using this group to book any kind of group travel.

Sheba was an absolute pleasure to work with. She took time out to find the absolute best destinations and options for our honeymoon and while stay within our budget as well. She was very professional, prompt and a delight throughout the entire process. I’ll definitely be recommending her to my family and friends!

This is not my first time booking a nice fun filled relaxing weekend and it will definitely not be my last. I enjoyed the experience of booking with Sheba as she took care of all my travel needs ensuring everything was set properly and ready to go. She took all the worries out of my mind and I would recommend her to any one and group of folks look for a fun filled getaway. She has the best recommendations and makes the most accommodations to make sure our entire group was happy.

I have called the cellphone number and the landline altogether 9 times today. sent a whatsapp and an email also but no response. The WORST client service ever!!!
I even called the resort but they don't even have a record of my booking. It is starting to feel like scam!!!

Horrible experience. I was supposed to receive a refund on a wedding that never took place in 2020 due to COVID19. I was told the refund would take 90 days but it has now been almost 5 months. The travel agent, Anna, has been extremely unresponsive and I won't be using/ promoting Modern Vacations to anyone.

Will never book with the company again. Our first vacation we booked a trip to Jamaica and everything was supposed to be confirmed before our arrival. When we get to the resort my friend and I had to share one bed. We were supposed to have two separate beds in our room. The only other option that was given to us was to split up from the other people in our group and go to a different resort or both move and be split up. We booked side by side rooms because that’s what we wanted; we didn’t go on a trip to be split up. So after spending our money we didn’t get what we paid for. AND no other accommodation was given to us for the mix up.

But after that vacation mishap we still decided to give the company one more chance. We booked a trip and since covid is an issue we talked with them to discuss our options and they only wanted to give us 100.00 refund. There was no compromising with the company. It’s not our fault that we don’t want to go to a country and still be limited on what we can do due to covid. Bars, some of the excursions we wanted to do, and majority of the resort would be closed. Who in their right mind would spend money to go on a trip to not enjoy it. Also, with the city closing back down due to rise in cases it’s not safe to go and we had no control of pandemic. There should have been some kind of compromise. Bad customer service on the company part. There are plenty of people who have been reviving credits or refunds from other companies and even the airlines, but they refuse to make any kind of compromise. WE WILL BOOK WITH THEM AGAIN.

Sheba is the best!!! Ibooked one trip and I’m getting ready to book another one. Couldn’t be happier with her excellent service. 5 star service all the way!

I recently booked my third vacation through Modern Vacations and they exceeded my expectations once again! We had a group of friends book as well and Sheba went above and beyond to accommodate all of us with all of our different needs. She was so friendly and helpful and was an absolute pleasure to work with. I will continue to use MV services for my future vacations. Thanks again.

Sheba was PHENOMENAL! I’ve never used a travel agent before so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Working with her took the hassle away from planning my sister’s birthday trip to Puerto Vallarta. She gave us multiple travel quotes for several nice resorts.
The hotel we selected was well within our budget with great flight options. Any questions I had she was able answer in a timely manner.
Needless to say, I would definitely contact her again for future travel.

I was trying to plan a family vacation on my own & felt overwhelmed by all the resorts in Jamaica. I was so relieved to have worked with Sheba. She was extremely knowledgeable about Jamaica and all it had to offer. She made everything so easy and seamless. I look forward to working with her again.

My experience with Modern Destinations Weddings was awesome! I had a great Rep, by the name of Sheba Matthews, and she was wonderful. She wasn't pushy, at all, when I was unsure about what I wanted to do. She listened to my concerns, answered all of my questions, responded to all of my emails/phone calls in a timely manner and was ALWAYS pleasant...even though I know that I made her crazy! :)

Working with Modern Vacations made planning our vacations so much more stressful, which I'm pretty sure is the opposite idea of a travel agent. We attended a destination wedding one of my best friends was having in Mexico and they encouraged us to book through Modern Vacations. I will admit I never work with travel agents - after one bad experience, I realized hotels + airline companies are much easier to work with when you book directly through them. I expressed this to our travel agent, Anna, when we were first put in contact and she told me I needed to book through her if I wanted to be involved in the wedding + any related activities (this was a total lie) and said my friend wouldn't get the same benefits of us attending if we booked separately. So I reluctantly booked with her.

We weren't just booking with a travel agent. She was booking through a third party, FunJet. I asked her to confirm our reservation directly with the hotel because I've had bad experiences booking through third parties. When selecting our room type, I told her it is very important to me that our room have a King bed. My husband + I were traveling without our children and there's nothing less romantic than 2 double beds. She told me in the room type we wanted there was a 99% chance that we would be given a room with a King. It seemed like it would be no problem.

I followed up with her as the trip got closer and was told she had not confirmed our reservation with the hotel as she had promised to do. So I did it myself. When I did, I was told NONE of the rooms we had reserved had King beds. So that 99% chance was actually a 0% chance. Luckily I had taken the time to confirm and was able to research other options.

When I contacted Anna, she told me they must have changed their rooms because she was sure there were rooms of our type that had King beds. She also said there weren't other options available. I sent her the information I had found doing my own research and suddenly she was able to find them too. So we changed our reservation.

We were told we had to pay in full in May (our trip was in July) so we did. Then our card wasn't charged for a full month. I received a random receipt a month later. When I replied asking why I was just now being charged, I never heard back.

I then emailed again with our flight information (we booked our own - thank goodness) so she could give it to our hotel transfer. My email also included several questions about the transfer. I never heard back. I emailed again and then finally called. She told me she never received my emails, but I later confirmed she did get my flight information. So she clearly got the email.

When I called, I confirmed our hotel transfer was not going to be some huge bus that took 100 people to different resorts. She assured me it was a 6-passenger van and we wouldn't have to wait at the airport for longer than 10-15 minutes. When we arrived we found out this was false information as well. AmStar told us we were booked on a shuttle and it could take up to 30 minutes to fill. Luckily the guy we were talking to "upgraded" us to a shared van. I contacted Anna about this discrepancy and she said she would look in to it, but never followed through. Again. We ended up upgrading our return transportation through AmStar to a direct transfer on our own. Spending time during our vacation to fix something that I had specifically asked to avoid in the first place.

I learned from the bride not booking with an agent wouldn't have caused any issues. There were no "lists" for wedding events. The rooms for wedding guests weren't even close to each other. We could have saved ourselves so much time, frustration, and probably money doing it on our own.

I will admit, I did not want to work with a travel agent and I was upfront with Anna about that from the beginning. My hope was she would take that as a challenge to prove to me why working with her was so great, but all she did was confirm my fears. I will NEVER book with a travel agent again, especially not Modern Vacations. It was the biggest regret of my vacation - I should have listened to my instincts.

Our trip was exceptional, loved the island, friendly people, beautiful beaches, wonderful food. Hats off to Heather for arranging a vacation of a lifetime. It was perfect

I'm used to using online booking programs like Expedia. After a couple bad travel experiences followed by horrible customer service(involving a canceled flight the night before travel forcing us to buy a $2,000 one way ticket), my wife and I chose to go with a travel agent on our next trip. After doing some research, we ended up working with Heather at Modern Vacations for a trip to Punta Cana. She was great to work with from the start. She was friendly, organized and extremely knowledgeable about our options. More importantly, I had one person I could call if I needed anything and she was accessible! I didn't have to sit through a bunch of automated prompts on hold for 30 min waiting to speak to an actual person. Long story short, we had an awesome trip, stayed at an amazing place(the Hard Rock) and I'll definitely use this company again.

Itzel Rodriguez made everything so simple and care free. The best service I have ever received when using a travel agency. I will definitely use this company again for my travel needs.
