Refused help!

Requested some information. A written a guide, as to how to change the batteries. I made it clear that I'm an engineer but they refused to oblige saying that if they provide such info they could be held liable if something went wrong. They clearly have no confidence in their own work.

Brand new TGA Breeze S4 GT Mobility Scooter.n

Last September l ordered a £5,000 + VAT TGA Breeze S4 GT scooter from main dealer Kardinal Independent Living initially via on line. Delivery was set for two weeks but it ended up 2 months, not the dealers fault. It arrived on a snowy 19th Nov. 2024 morning so l put it into my tool shed l had had prepared for it. At 80 years of age with some serious medical problems l didn’t see it again for about a month. This top of the range scooter has an electro magnetic type brake which self engages as you throttle back. It also has a ‘red brake lever’ that operated single ‘brake-shoes and drum’ emergency brake on the left rear wheel only, should additional braking assistance be required, or in the unlikely event the electric brake fails. And there is a third ‘panic’ brake that will instantly sieze the main automatic brake by wrenching the accelerator wide open. The handbook warns to familiarise the owner with this panic brake as it stops the scooter so rapidly it can cause panic, hence its name. After checking the scooter over for myself it was obvious the red lever hand brake, such as on a motorcycle, did not work at all. I emailed the dealer who knew l had been a motor mechanic before retiring and was asked if l would adjust the cable so the brake would work, to save them the inconvenience of sending a mechanic out to it, and l agreed. The weather still wasn’t that good for scooter use but some time later on a cold but sunny day l decided to make the adjustment. Due to little shortage of space to work by the rear wheel l could not get my fingers where they needed to be to adjust the cable so l put the Jack under the suspension and removed the wheel to discover a brake backplate, a pair of brake shoes, but no brake drum. Checking the other side l could see a brake drum connected to the rear hub. I contacted the dealer but when their promise to have a mechanic call me didn’t materialise, l emailed the main importer TGA, a quality company who always carries out a PDI, Pre Delivery Inspection of scooters before they are delivered to their dealer. Their inspection tick sheet shows the brakes in perfect order before forwarding the scooter to their dealer. Eventually the dealer had the scooter collected and the brake drum that was erroneously installed on the right side was then transferred to the left side to complete the brake mechanism, and from that point the emergency red lever emergency brake worked fine. However, this begs the question, who moved the brake drum from the left rear wheel to the right wheel where it was not possible to operate the emergency brake at all.

When ordering the scooter l was informed that a motorcycle twistgrip type accelerator was available as a £200 factory upgrade in place of the standard lever accelerator which also operated a third brake, the panic brake, and as l had been a keen motorcycle rider back in the 60’s and again in the 80’s l chose this option. However, nobody informed me that in doing so the panic brake would have to be disconnected by simply ‘twisting the wires together’. So whereas the scooter should have had 3 Independant braking systems it only had the one. Had the dealer informed me the panic brake would be disconnected in this way l would not have chosen this option. TGA have again confirmed to me that the scooter was in perfect mechanical condition when it was couriered to the dealership, and also forwarded to me their multi item tick list PDI mechanic uses when carrying out the work. For some strange reason the family operators of Kardinal Independant Living will not the reason they delivered the scooter to myself with two of the three brake systems inoperable, even though l have advised them that l will reject the scooter and make a claim to my credit card company for a full refund under section 75 of the consumer credit act 1974. I also have the option of reporting the matter to our local trading standards office and police as the removing of brake parts would constitute an illegal act, thus supplying it in a very dangerous condition. Until now l have refrained from reporting the matter in an attempt to alleviate the Hancorn family from serious offences, but l now see they have buried their heads in the sand. Big mistake.

Wish I could give a zero star review

Wish I could give a zero star review, what a nightmare company to deal with, fobbed me off constantly with "it will be delivered next week", once I finally got the scooter & realised it wasn't suitable for me & the terrain I wanted to use it on, they arranged for a courier to pick it up, that was back in July, I still haven't had a refund! The phone number on the bottom of the emails doesn't connect, their website doesn't seem to exist anymore and I'm out of pocket £1499!!! If the company is reading this, check your emails, Jane Bennett has emailed about refund, can anyone send me a phone number for them? This doesn't work 01572720699.

This firm has gone bust.
I paid a total of £4,244 for a specific scooter.
After months of waiting...no scooter and no refund (although acknowledged))
All forms of recent communication ignored

All smiles when taking your order and money, though.

Thank goodness they cant steal anyone elses money now

Roma Reno powerchair

On 24th July. They rang me to persue me to checkout my basket to pay for the Roma Reno powerchair knowing full well they had no intention of sending me it. Im in end stage heart failure. I cannot walk so my 81 year old mum used her savings to buy me the powerchair. This company have stolen £1,200 from us. So now we are broke and i am still bedridden. Shame on you.

Kymco Maxer

Good prices let down slightly by poor feedback on order status. Once a delivery date was set everything went smoothly. My mobility scooter was delivered in perfect condition. Control & operation of my mobility scooter were explained to my satisfaction.

Drive Elite Auto fold mobility scooter

Paul delivered my Drive mobility scooter on the 23 July 2024. It was delivered already assembled and the demonstration was thorough and very helpful. Paul also offered to show me the best way to put the scooter into the boot of the car. Nothing was too much trouble. I did email the Company regarding delivery and got an immediate response with a scheduled delivery date. The day before delivery was due I got a telephone call with the estimated time of arrival. I am very happy with the service and help I have received from all at Mobility Scoters Plus.

This company does not give refunds

I ordered two scooters in April. One was not in stock. I kept being told it would be a few weeks. I requested a refund after three months of waiting as I got the same scooter in 24 hours with another supplier and never got a refund from this company, but was reimbursed by my credit card. The customer service is appalling, they never answer e mails if they know you have an issue and phone calls are blocked by the switch board. I even rang the CEO who failed to return my call. Do not purchase anything from these people unless you have their absolute confirmation that the item is in stock or you will lose you money! You will go through months of pain as a disabled customer. They simply do not care.

Ordered a kymco folding scooter

Ordered a kymco folding scooter. I explained that I had to have it by the 19th July as we were going away on the 22nd. Rob delivered it on the 19th as promised BUT it didn't work, couldn't close the scooter manually or with the remote control. Rob was very embarrassed and had to take the scooter away. We had to change our holiday plans as we needed the scooter Rob returned on the 24th with a new scooter which seemed fine. As soon as Rob had gone we discovered the scooter could not be opened. The messaging service contacted Rob and he returned. Our turn to be embarrassed as the scooter had to be laying down to open or close. This was not clear in the instruction manual I have just given the scooter its maiden voyage and it works perfectly. All turned out well in the end.

5 months and counting - still no refund

Similar to a previous reviewer, we have experienced a real challenge in achieving contact following the return of a scooter purchased back in February this year. Despite following all the processes correctly and agreeing to pay for the collection we have not had our refund nor have we had a response to our multiple chases. This unethical practice is not acceptable and unlike the previous reviewer it appears the threat of legal action, which is our next step, has fallen on deaf ears.

Outstanding A+ Service

Ordered the Atto Sport for Airline Travel, spoke to Paul a few times and I found him to be an immense help. He really wanted to do all he could to help, one of the best customer services I have ever received. The scooter arrived as booked in good order well protected and well wrapped. Very happy to have given my money to this organisation. Thank you Paul, you're a star.

Bad customer service

My mother ordered a scooter from this company and was told 7 days. Then a so-called delay due to parts-and after 4 weeks of waiting, we cancelled the order. We were advised that we would get the money back in 7-10 days, and after 15 days, still no reimbursement! After numerous emails and phone calls which never got returned, I finally threatened them with legal proceedings if they didn't return my call or email me within a couple of hours! That worked as my mother received confirmation of a refund within 2 hours, and the money was back in her bank in 24 hours! Disgraceful that this company is allowed to treat people like this. Customer service - they don't know the meaning of it! I would never recommend them to anyone! How do they sleep at night?

First mobility scooter

My scooter was booked to arrive via the carrier. They had a problem on the day so Rob brought it to me himself on his van, already set up and ready to go. He took time to explain everything and said to just get in touch if I needed any help. I have spoken to both Rob and Paul. Both are very helpful. Excellent customer service. I was very impressed.

I didn’t receive my scooter, which in itself is not the problem.
The problem is the arrogance of the owner when trying to get my money back. Obviously there is no one you can talk to face to face, when you call most of the time you get forwarded to a message taking service.
I got emails saying the money would be in my account within 7-10 working days, that never happened and that’s when communication was less forthcoming.
Fortunately my bank have reimbursed me the £1200 I paid and I’m sure the bank will have better luck than I did in getting the money.
Believe me I’d rather not have to use a mobility aid, and when you come across companies like this who are taking money from Ill/vulnerable or elderly people and not providing the services they advertise it knocks your faith a little.
Anyway good luck.

A very easy transaction

A easy transaction. I was informed once I’d made the purchase of the scooter that it will be around two weeks, and it was. All documents to easily complete and register were supplied. Honest price, a lot dearer elsewhere. Very happy with my new mobility scooter. Highly recommended.

Don't waste your time

Company that sells items that they don't actually stock, chased up my scooter to be told there is a delay in getting the stock and will have to wait another week after already waiting a week. Don't bother wasting your time with them find a company that actually has stock to sell
