A bunch of labourers, not damp proof experts turned up. They proceeded to leave cigarette butts outside and empty can of Monster inside.
I reviewed their work before plastering and said "I can see outside, why are there holes in my walls"? There was literally daylight where brickwork should be in many places. Ovi/Oliver turned up to inspect the substandard work when I literally grabbed a piece of the damp proof course and gently pulled it from the brickwork. I suggested that it was substandard work and he agreed to knock the price down.
The carpenter agreed the work was "rough as shit"
Skip forward 12 months, our room is damp beyond belief, Ovi attended with a friend and said it wasn't too damp, I produced a damp meter which went off the scale to which he said maybe we had a leaking pipe in the wall. We have no pipes in the wall.
18 months later and after many excuses from Ovi as to why he can't turn up and rectify the problem we have got another company in to fix Mitchell's damp proofing problems.
We do have a period property and he was completely out of his depth. Do not employ this firm if you want a damp problem fixed
