I have invested with this firm for more than 10 years. Good web site, helpful team, no problems.

Joining Meteor was painful and difficult, especially for an elderly person like me, they required photos of me and my driving licence, bank statement, proof of address and on and on, also there were loads of verification codes to deal with, I have joined many financial bodies but this was the most problematic, one complaint is that they have no phone app, so a bit behind the times, lets hope the effort proves worth it!

Great experience so far. The fixed-term savings page is clear and easy to understand, and the overall journey feels straightforward and professional. The information is well laid out, which made it simple to choose the right term. Would recommend to anyone looking for a fixed-term savings option.

WELL ESTABLISHED AND EFFICIENT, AND PROMPT PAYMENTS

Yesterday, I had an issue in attempting to deposit money with Meteor from a third party account. The third party were unable to tell me why this was so. However, Daniel at Meteor suspected it was that I was attempting to deposit more than they would allow me to withdraw. The whole experience raised a couple of other questions which he had the answers to. It was good to deal with someone who knew his product. He was customer-centric and showed no impatience as he talked me through certain procedures. His colleagues need to know how good he is at his job and here I am telling them and you.

I'm not really one to leave reviews, but what a breath of fresh air to deal with a company that genuinely cares about customer service.
I phoned them to understand more about the ISA transfers, as my ISA easy access account was earning a low rate elsewhere. I spoke with a lovely lady called Zaynab who was so patient and polite. This is how all customer services should be. She talked me through how ISA transfers work and I'm now back earning a high interest rate, which was easier than I ever thought it would be.

The registration process was straight forward (providing you've got your smartphone and photo ID to hand), the website is very easy to use and had a choice of market leading rates and different options available and unlike some of the other savings platforms out there Meteor don't charge customers.

I highly recommend.

They do not disclose they want you to provide a selfie to a third party for ID verification.

They claim photo ID such as a passport is required.
They do not state that one then has to provide a selfie.

I am not joining a dating site.
Why would I trust a third party with such a photograph, which could be hacked?

Professional companies do not require a selfie.
Such a requirement is NOT mandated by the FCA.
It is an intrusive internal decision.

Raisin did not ask for a selfie.
HL do not ask for a selfie.

I regard them as a backward organisation who want to capture data which is not disclosed before application. Such a view is not defamatory as it is made clear it a personal view. (Meteor tried to delete a similar statement). E.g. Mettle make it clear before application that they require a motion video. This is how a professional organisation behaves.

I demanded they remove all my data.

In any case only one fixed rate bond has market leading rates. The rest were not leading.
Pointless and no great loss.

It is easy to verify ID online even without a passport.
Most banks do this.

All funds to Meteor seem to go in via a nominated account. This is low risk. No need for selfies. Electoral register checks are sufficient for FCA.

Older people have the money to invest, They are more likely to object to selfies. Know your customer!

The operations director confirms that all data has been removed, 2 days later they send "junk" email.
A clear breach of DPA.

My advice is not to invest with such an organsisation.

The service I received during my ISA transfer was excellent, efficient, clear, and hassle-free. Everything was handled promptly, and communication was outstanding throughout the process. Accessing the savings portal on a mobile phone via the browser is similar to a custom-built app, so no issues there. I would therefore have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Meteor 10\10.

I was tempted to join Meteor by one of their current cash ISA products featured on MSE website.
Unfortunately though, they don’t offer an app so not for me.

I’ve had a meteor account for a few years and have just started using their new savings portal which is not only excellent but also easy to use. I highly rate this company.

Good saving and investment options. A good diversification tool.

I am not writing with regards to just a recent experience with Meteor, but every experience. As an IFA I have found that they provide exceptional support to the adviser with good, prompt communication throughout whether its for business in their own name or the administrative role for MBSI & Hop.
