Very frustrating experience with Drivalia’s PCN handling. A toll/payment issue has been disputed for months, with both Drivalia and Merseyflow already involved in the correspondence. Despite... Se mere

Do not use Merseyside area if you can... be aware of traps
Do not use this road if you have not red council website. You will be trapped in a fine. It says, designed to controlled traffic, yet they earn unfair fine money from visitors to the area. I wonder if they use any more trap like this in this local council
Horrendously poor operation
I think the obscure signage is an obvious issue, but the website is also really unclear and can be quite confusing.
A business as badly organised and ran as this shouldn't be legal in this day and age in the uk.
I think Merseyside council should really review the business processes for inclusivity as the elderly who would use this public road have no chance.
I agree with many of the other reviews, should be illegal.
I’d rate a minus if possible
I’d rate a minus if possible. How many people do they scam on a daily basis???? I can believe it’s legal to have a process where you can pass 1 single sign (which could be hidden depending on your lane and the vehicle next to you) telling you the process whilst your driving!!! Plus then only giving you 24hours to go onto their prehistoric unuser friendly website to make the payment before they then lock you out and stop you paying so they can send you a PCN. This has been setup entirely as a con to ensure they capture all but the daily users that have an annual pass.
What a rip off they should be hauled up and made to pay these people their penalties back!
Why wouldn’t any company give you a couple to 5 days time to pay. Many are heading to the airport and won’t even have the spare time to go and sort this for a day or so.
Con merchants
Exorbitant Charges & Stealth Fines
Good bridge but the exorbitant charges and price rises are blatant profiteering by Merseyflow & Halton Borough Council. No discount for Merseyside residents. As if we don’t pay enough council tax already. To make matters worse the website is a joke, and the stealth charges and fines for new visitors must be doing wonders for Liverpool tourism.
Dirty robbing tramps
Dirty robbing firm of tramps had about 10 fines off them over the years I avoid the bridge as much as I can runcorn is a shit hole and the bridge needs nocking down 40 pound fine for a return trip to Wales because I forgot to pay 4 pound within the short time given absolute conn
Glitch city!
Glitch city!
Nowhere to hit submit payment.
Frustrating as hell. Take some of the fortune you make and pay someone to build you a workable app!!!
GARBAGE!
The website and app are absolute garbage. Doesn't recognise either my email or reg plate despite both being on the app when I try to recover password. Why do I have to buy additional credits when I just want to pay for a single trip?
Wasting too much of my life trying to pay for the pathetic £2 each way
The only bad part of my recent holiday via superb Liverpool Airport was wasting too much of my life trying to pay for the pathetic £2 each way for the MerseyFlow bridge. Website is underdeveloped and the app is one of the worst I have used for payments. Could not complete an account so full data entry each payment. As someone who has used the Dartford Crossing and French tolls for years I am additionally surprised that the Emovis connection has left the MerseyFlow systems in such a poor and ineffective state. Smarter automation required. Avoid this crossing!
Really helpful customer service team
Really helpful customer service team. Forgot to pay before the deadline. The team sorted things out quickly and efficiently.
Use the Mersey Tunnel
Use the Mersey tunnel.
This bridge has no toll booths. So you cross and you forget to pay your £2.00 by the time you've got home. So you'd hope that, like the Dartford Crossing, they'd give you a bit of notice. But no, you forget all about it and the next thing you know there is a Bailiff at your front door. I had no penalty notice, no court form, no court order nothing. By the time I knew anything about it, some wannabe copper from Marston Debt Recovery was at my front door and going to clamp my car if I didn't pay just under £400. And this is the second time this happened!!!
Been trying for days to update my…
Been trying for days to update my payment details on both the app and web. No luck. App says unsecure connection and wont let me do anything and web says it has no record of my car or email. Called a very nice person (3 stars otherwise it would be 0) in the call centre who advised the only thing they could do was delete my account so I could set it up again. Waited a bit and tried to set up my account again. It kept saying the password I entered had to start with a letter, which it did. Gave up. I did manage to set up a new account on the app. No access on the web (again unknown email and reg) but may take a bit of time to sync. Thank you to the call centre but MerseyFlow, you need to sort out your IT.
I note MereyFlow does not respond to its reviews, with 95% being 0 stars highlighting similar issues, I think you really should look at addressing the issues raised. The web obviously has issues. The bridge is an important link for families and its costs enough to cross. The fines are ridiculous and avoidable if only the web worked.
The Website and App are very poor
The Website and App are very poor, worst I have seen in a long time, Charge to adda nother vehicle £25 is a disgrace.
Hopeless App... disastrous website... charming call centre staff!
Right, first off the 4 stars are purely for the members of staff manning the phones.... the quick pay app that is recommended when you ring is a total flop, I have never been able to register my card on it! The website payment system is equally pathetic.
The staff have always been so pleasant to talk to, they are loyal to their employers when you have a moan about all the flaws and faults in the system, but that is to be commended. It must be very tiring speaking to customers all day with what they must realise are valid complaints!
Anyway Beth, these 4 stars are for you and your colleagues... I couldnt in all honesty give you 5 as I wouldn't want to give Merseyflow the idea that as a company they are doing a good job! Mersey flow.... please get your act together and sort out your so called quick pay app.... it's been live for years and has NEVER WORKED .... also sort out your telephone automated system which after telling the annoying bot my registration number 20 times with the response "sorry I do not understand what you are saying" 😡 .. eventually the bot gave up, thankfully.... just before I could load my pistol and shoot myself... and finally got to speak to the charming REAL person Beth.
Lastly.... please sort out your signage on the Bridge both directions.... confusing information, its not clear ...obviously (read the reviews!) be nice and take note of what your customers are having gripes about!!!! BTW what does the big red C even mean? 🤔
Gives you less than 32 hours to pay
Gives you less than 32 hours to pay, has like 1 sign telling you the website, then fines you 10x the amount for not paying. Its clearly designed this way.

The review would be zero if I had a choice. Regarding previous posts, I have been bullied in to paying £147.00 regarding the crossing fee for vehicle NV11ZGS. This vehicle was sold In 2023. The recovery firm Marston, advised I should pay as the bill will keep going up and up. I can't believe how this happened and how a vehicle that was sold over a year ago was still in our name despite the owner had taxed it and had an MOT. I checked after I received the first fine. This vehicle is no longer on DVLA.
APPAULING!!!!!!
I've used the tunnel for work for 2 and a half years. Let's face it- it's a shambles. I've contacted them before but they simply do not care. I am a T-Flow user but it's a complete waste of time. I've pointed out in the past that T-Flow shouldn't be almost the same colour as 'attended'. You had a whole spectrum to chose from!!!!!!
Additionally, what a stupid name T-Flow is. How are visitors outside the area supposed to understand what that means??? To me, it means, traffic flow, so it must be the normal route. Absolute mess every night.
Anyway, three weeks ago, they have changed the way the machine reads your card and it has caused carnage. They bleat that it has made it more efficient! HA!
The traffic leading up to the Wallasey tunnel between 5-6pm now is backed up to Sainsbury's on Scotland Rd. I complained today and 'Lauren' informs me that it's nothing to do with them and it's just general traffic! How come it only went this bad when you changed the machines then????
As a safety professional, I really can't believe they haven't employed someone to monitor traffic flow. A child could tell you it's gone worse.
The Wallasey tunnel has become a NO GO ZONE!
Digital Dik Turpin!
We used this road for the first time in both directions and were completely unaware of it being a toll, until the 19th & 21st November, when we recieved 2 penalties.
We drive a small engined car, because we care for the environment in which we live, visit and give back to.
When I re-typed in the National Trust postcode into the SatNav as a test journey, there is no mention of a toll charge for our journey in either direction.
And yet here we are with two cruel summons to act upon for something we were unaware of.
Niether of us recall seeing any signage on our road trip and the fact that it's online payment only makes darn sure that concept is fragile, fabled and just plain wrong.
But don't worry, we'll let AI lead us all into the cul-de-sac of confusion, via automated ignorance.
This is a disgusting way to treat motorists and the greed driven hypocricy is a hindrence to the progress of humankind.
So this is to Halton Borough Council.
If you couldn't afford to build or maintain it, perhaps more meetings were needed on the golf course to discuss cost vs necessity vs the environment.
It's sole purpose now, is a device for personal financial gain, imposing off the scale and un-realistic fines, which satisfy the higher management, via ticking the spread-sheets, of the Copy/Paste robots.
Creating a limited payment system, with a punishment based phylosiphy founded to extract and extorte monies, is a disgraceful concept.
The fines are an excuse for poor management finance decisions from start to finish and then expect bamboozled members of the public to give thier hard earned cash for your lack of integrity, vision and poor judgement.
I've been on this planet for 55 years and I've seen this sort of behaviour many times in my career and I know where this is going and how it ends.
Good luck with your thought process...you're going to need it.
Disappointing and annoying
Disappointing and annoying. As an occasional user forgetting to pay my return trip. I remembered 36 hours later but too late. The payment window should be much longer. On my outward trip I was going on holiday and I had forgotten but a fellow holiday maker mentioned it by chance. So I paid my outgoing trip from Cyprus. I got back late at night crossed the bridge on my way home and forgot again. Now I will be fined. This is not right.
I found it very confusing
I found it very confusing. First time used yesterday evening .sure ish I only crossed once and have paid the £2. However leaving it not clear if you enter the bridge again.
