My review relates solely to our guide, Mr Abdelatif Nouiri, better known as Latif, and our driver, Mohammed.
Latif was friendly and fun from the moment we met him at the airport. At the hotel he was very organised handing out additional information.
Throughout the tour he proved that he was very knowledgeable regarding the history of the places visited, adding entertaining facts too.
Our driver Mohammed was also excellent, we felt very safe throughout the long journeys.
Thanks both for a memorable trip, you were both great.

A wonderful Sri Lanka tour with Mercury holidays
We booked a tour of Sri Lanka with Mercury Holidays as a treat for our 25th wedding anniversary and what an amazing trip it was, we enjoyed every minute of it!
Sri Lanka is a fascinating and beautiful country with such incredibly kind and friendly people. The itinerary was excellent and gave us the opportunity to travel right around Sri Lanka and experience such a wonderful variety of what this amazing country has to offer. We saw historic and cultural sites, beautiful temples, stunning scenery, mountains and tea country, wildlife, beaches and so many different towns and villages. It really felt as though we were getting to see the many different sides of Sri Lanka rather than simply staying in one area. There was always something interesting to look forward to, and the itinerary was very well put together.
But above all, we have to say that Nala (Pamal Nalaka) was truly exceptional.
Quite simply, Nala was outstanding and made an already wonderful holiday into something very special. His knowledge of Sri Lanka was incredible, and his passion for his country came across in everything he told us and showed us. He didn't just take us from one place to another – he brought Sri Lanka to life.
He was incredibly friendly, warm, patient and attentive throughout the whole tour. Nothing was too much trouble, and he was always looking out for everyone in the group, making sure we were comfortable, happy and getting the most from every experience. His knowledge of the history, culture, wildlife and people of Sri Lanka added so much to the trip.
If I had to give Nala a rating, 10 out of 10 still doesn't seem anywhere near enough to reflect what a fabulous job he did. He was genuinely exceptional, and his enthusiasm, humour, knowledge and kindness made such a difference to our experience.
The driver Salmon and assistant Sami also deserve a special mention for their hard work throughout the tour. Salmon was a brilliant driver and always made everyone feel very safe. His assistant Sami was always very helpful and super friendly and smiley!
A huge thank you to Mercury Holidays for putting together such a fantastic itinerary and giving us the opportunity to see so much of Sri Lanka. But a very special thank you to Nala – he was a real credit to Mercury.
An unforgettable experience made even more memorable by an unforgettable guide.
