Founded in 2014 by Matea Saule, the brand began with a memory: her grandmother, a dressmaker in Banja Luka, who left finished dresses hanging on a rail when the family fled Bosnia in 1996. That knowledge — the care, the attention, the belief that how something is made matters as much as what is made — became the foundation Matea was built on. Matea isn't only a fashion label, though every piece of clothing is designed in Australia and made in small quantities, considered rather than mass-produced. It's also home to Fearless Female Friday, a weekly musing written for almost a decade to remind women of who they are, now read by thousands each week and soon to become a book. And it's home to a growing collection of ritual objects — fragrance, hair adornments, and more — designed for the small daily moments of returning to yourself. Hi Catherine. Thank you for letting us know via a review you didn’t receive a tracking update, in future if you ever have a tracking inquiry please email us on info@mateadesigns.com.au. We sent out a tracking email on the 10 July with the following tracking number 99707314245001000830900 Australia Post. We’ve just looked up the tracking number & your package is onboard for delivery today 22 July. We apologise about Australia Post delivery delays, however that’s something out of our hands as you selected “standard shipping”. If you do ever need an item by a particular time it’s best to select “express shipping” at checkout. We hope you love your item once it arrives today :)

Went above and beyond
Matea Designs went above and beyond with my order. I ordered a coat to WA which I decided to upsize. The following week I have heading to Melb and they hand delivered my coat to a family members house. They were so responsive and easy to deal with. Couldn't recommend this small business enough for their customer service :)

Fantastic customer service
Wow what a fabulous brand to deal with. I had to exchange my original order and swap for a smaller size, but that didn’t bother me as the customer service was a 10/10.
