Avoid this company. Having to pay to be able to apply for work is immoral - and even worse when the work is unpaid as so much is on this nasty site.

First the good.

I'm an industry professional of 7 years - a jobbing actor as it were - and I can thank Mandy (or really, Casting Call Pro as it was before it was bought out) for helping me to establish my career. It was, for a long time, a brilliant platform on which to gain invaluable experience, and has led to contacts who I still work with 6-7 years down the line. It was a great pool for corporate work, short and student films and fringe theatre, with an intuitive and helpful interface, and a range of features that really gave me a sense of ownership over my career - it allowed me to track my applications, to see their status, and yielded really positive outcomes. The cost of an annual subscription was easily recouped.

The bad news is that Mandy has recently been bought out by Backstage. Since its takeover, Mandy has lost a lot of its useful features. The quality of the jobs on the site has diminished rapidly - for the most part it seems to be teaching, immersive experience for parties and shopping centres, and badly paid corporate work. It was always a real gripe of mine that Mandy never monitored the rates being offered - commercial and corporate jobs will often use the site to exploit actors trying to gain a footing, by offering insultingly low rates. I'd flagged this in the past to no avail, and sadly there is even less of a chance of any user concerns being addressed - the customer service department appears to have become automated, and a community of actors have, since the takeover, offered a stream of feedback on the changes, all for the negative, with no real response offered by Mandy.

It appears to be headed in the direction of Star Now, also a subsidiary of Backstage, by which they lure early-career actors to pay to access castings that really won't do much for the majority of users' careers.

I've been with Mandy for 8 years, and I am on the verge of leaving the platform for the first time. It has always had its critics and those in the industry who have advised against it, yet I have remained an advocate throughout. Until now. I would not recommend joining - there are other emerging platforms out there - and I have no doubt that usership will drop as a result of the unconsidered changes being made, and poor customer service being offered.

Lots of work regularly posted daily. For my role (Sound recordist), jobs are often very low budget and not the the best pay but sometimes better paid jobs are also there. It's a competitive industry so jobs are hard to get regardless, but have had several responses already in the past month.

My daughter is dying to get noticed and this platform helps so much to get her name out there .

easy to use, responds asap, great application process

Mandy is potentially a great resource /site (although the name is still a puzzlement!). It is merged with Backstage that I like and use a lot but despite saying that the sites are linked it only appears your contact details that are linked. I don't mind having to pay another subscription - but it is frustrating that you have to build another profile and keep that up to date! The sooner all three merge the better so everything can be in one place and it has a much better interface / look.

I'm so sad and disappointed that I have to give Mandy a 1 star review, as I had been a happy active, paying member as both an Actor and Voice Artist on the site for many years, since it was formally Casting Call Pro & Voices Pro. Unfortunately the company was recently taken over by Backstage.com and they really have ruined what was a wonderful resource for professional performers, since the take over the sites features have been steadily broken apart and services reduced, and more importantly the number and quality of jobs on offer has fallen through the floor, basically making it less than useless to professional performers looking for jobs paying minimum industry standard rates.

Mandy is a fantastic website. I have found an abundance of job roles which I am excited to apply for. Great for networking as well.

Mandy.com seems to be a good place for lots of creative jobs, Unfortunately you have to sign up to premium to respond to any of these postings so there is a bit of a barrier for people just starting out. Also the pricing structure isn't clearly shown on the site. But if the jobs come good then worth it.

Mandy is a great website for actors who are just starting out. Especially if they don’t have an agent yet, you can find so many great opportunities there, without paying anything. Highly recommend for artists who are starting out!

I bumped into this site randomly and found this amazingly working platform for job seekers. I am a music professional and the kind of offers i have been getting looks very professional and satisfying. I look forward to upgrade and get my hands on one of these. Mandy is a great website for actors who are looking for work in their area. Especially if they don’t have representation, because you can find so many great opportunities there, without paying anything. Highly recommend for artists who are starting out.

I have been trying to post a job for two days. The job was left on pending far longer then they said it would be and then finally just said outstanding questions but all the fields Were filled in! I tried to call, the number is no longer active, I sent messages via their forms to no response, I messaged on instagram for help which gave me an email, the email was no longer in service. AVOID if you can because if there are issues they will not help you. They make it so you can't contact them. DISAPPOINTED AND STRESSFUL- AVOID AVOID AVOID

Thanks to Mandy I've found my first steps into the world of filmmaking and made great connections. It's help set the foundations of my own lucrative business, definitely recommend to those that are considering!

It’s expensive for struggling actors or students but it’s worth it. If you don’t have an agent this sight is the second best option. Plus by uploading a showreel and CV you can gain an agent on the sight as well as attend local auditions. Be careful, it’s free to join and some people on the sight are scammers, if your wise enough to report scams: then you can quickly get auditions with your favourite production teams :)

Good site in general in giving job alerts and emails, and showing relevant roles on the death however if you are starting out and finding your feet it can be frustrating to find you cannot apply for even a minimum quota of jobs per week/month until you pay a premium for doing so. There’s some great talent out there which just simply cannot afford to pay a subscription charge.

I have found Mandy to have a wide variety of job roles on offer. It has a nice interface and the design is easy on the eye and user intuitive to navigate around. I am only taking one star off for the fact that I haven't been able to experience the full site and what it has to offer due to the limitations of a free profile (it may be nice to have a free trial on signing up to get the full experience) and also the search by location function does not seem to work correctly for me. I can put 'within 50 miles' of Derbyshire in and I still just get jobs in London!

I'm always having technical problems with my profile. Since they merged with Starnow the quality of castings has really deteriorated. Some "castings" are even actually hospitality jobs.
