During use, the battery is under continuous load, which causes the percentage or bars on the battery indicator to drop. When the bike is restarted, the battery is momentarily free from load, allowing it to recover slightly. This recovery happens because the electrons that were under stress during operation redistribute themselves, causing a temporary increase in the output voltage. This slight increase in voltage is detected by the battery sensor, which then displays a higher battery level. However, this gained level is not sustained and will quickly deplete once the bike is back under load.

To clarify, the battery is not charging itself during this process. The perceived increase in battery level is simply due to the redistribution of energy within the battery, which causes a temporary rise in voltage. This is a common characteristic of lithium-ion batteries and is not unique to your Magicycle product.
