Excellent tour company for travel to places off the beaten path

Exceptional tour as it was so well organised taking into account all group needs. Superb tour leader. Excellent value for money.

I’m a very contented (11th time) repeat customer to this unique tour company that provides guided visits to countries away from the beaten path of mainstream tourism but with excellent value for money. This ‘recce’ tour was actually a classic - with an excellent mix of immersion in the vibrant culture of this country combined with wildlife encounters in lush, tropical settings. I would recommend Lupine unreservedly to anyone looking for an interesting and imaginative tour that is out of the ordinary.

A wonderful and unique trip. The pre-trip organisation was impeccable. The itinerary was focused on cultural experiences - visiting museums, villages, and historical sights, though we did also visit a conservation area with a canopy walk. The local guides were excellent. We were so lucky to have such pleasant people to show us around and our Lupine tour leader was right up there with the very best I've ever had. I came home feeling so grateful and satisfied having visited Nigeria. Would totally recommend this tour and Lupine in general.

This Lupine Tour was one of the best planned trips I've taken, and the leaders worked tirelessly to enrich the experience and minimize the challenges presented by Nigerian political dysfunction.

The annual Osun festival was the highlight of this trip, but each day provided more insight into the Yoruba way of life.

Well-led tour. A lot of activity, but flexible enough. Great accommodations. Some extra activities not necessarily worth the time and/or money.

Really cannot recommend this company enough. Not only are their tours good value, but the Lupine staff are extremely kind, patient, helpful and understanding people. Recently did the Burundi/Rwanda/DRC tour, and would like to give a special mention to our group leader Zoltan, as well as the excellent local guides. This was the second trip I’ve taken with them, and there will be many more!

Did the 5 Stans small group tour in July and it was exceedingly well run. It exceeded expectations in the quality of our tour leader (Alex), the guides, where we stayed and the transportation. Our leader, Alex, in particular always made sure that his clients were well cared for and safe. He worked very well with the local guides to sort out all details (and there are a lot such as complex border crossings). The trip probably shouldn't be your first adventure travel trip and I'd recommend going at a wee bit cooler time. The heat in July is 95F (35C) and went as high as 105F (40C). The fact that we had very modern busses and everyone got their own row allowed folks some room to spread out and chill.

Great tour. Very well planned. The Lupine Tour Leader was excellent. The local tour guide was superb. Finally, the tour was value for money.

I’ve used Lupine for 4 tours now and have a further 7 tours already booked, so I thought it’s time I wrote a review. The team at Lupine are very responsive to queries and answer emails promptly. Itineraries include main highlights in the destination, decent accommodation, great guides and tours generally attract well-travelled, flexible and friendly travel companions, many of whom are returning customers so sometimes meeting the same people again. My past experiences, coupled with good service / communication from Lupine and interesting destinations has meant it’s become my go-to company for group tours.

Just back from my umpteenth tour with Lupine to Moldova and Transnistria.
As always the trip was balanced ,calm and well organised.
Compared to some this was quite a relaxed trip with limited coach travel but allowed either individual or group time whenever you wanted.
First time I’d met Bob and he is truly what Lupine is all about….hugely interesting,intelligent but also very caring and great fun when right time (unlike me!)…His Russian was invaluable but he was so happy to share his thoughts and words with us all.
It’s a great skill to combine 16 strangers,calmly and be laid back with so many questions but he did it seamlessly and still had time to make his Dutch wit fit it(although never as funny as me)
We had the honour of being the first group to experience Transnistria veterans,ladies,children dancing and singing for us…honestly….it was extremely emotional and everyone was so kind to us all…I’m sure this will be a regular feature…
As always we had a hugely diverse group with everyone adding a little something to the party…there were even people from Wigan although I believe they were ushered in on a discount!
I won’t mention much about tour because you need to live it,however at one point I had 6 different currencies in my pocket which tells you it’s unique.
Hotels were great…Bob even handled my one outcry about a restaurant with only an app with humour(well I hope so I just went next door with humans)
The people are very Eastern European and slightly baffled why you are there(of course that’s why we are there)…I felt very privileged to be part of their big day which actually after 12 is very much a family occasion and compared to English celebrations extremely calm but very pleasant.
One note maybe to help…the train out which I booked to meet everyone had no communal carriage…please consider this and bring supplies just in case…it’s a unique experience,especially the wheel changing at 2am although I’m delighted I missed this.
Overall a very professional,well organised but chilled trip…lots of free time if you want it…as always…it’s your call.

Have done 8 tours now with Lupine, all have been excellent (well organised and at reasonable prices). Looking forward to the other tours I have booked with them. Great professional company.

Top drawer travel company. Trips are excellent value for money. Many trips sell out quickly which tells you all you need to know.

I typically solo travel but choose Lupine to help visit Turkmenistan and was not disappointed. Communication and instructions to obtain the LOI were straightforward and nothing felt rushed or over complicated. On the tour, everything was organized and we were given enough free time to do things on our own if we chose to. Overall, the experience exceeded my expectations.

Recently travelled with Lupine to Syria.
Lupine did an excellent job organising the tour including the schedule, local and company guide.
I feel extremely privileged to be able to go to such a beautiful and welcoming country and Lupine made that happen.

I am so glad I discovered Lupine last year with Tomas explaining the company to me in Equatorial Guinea. Lupine is without a doubt probably one of the best, if not THE BEST "unique" destination company on earth. This is EXACTLY the type of company I have wanted to find and I am so glad Lupine wanted to collaborate with me on my youtube channel.

I had already researched and created content about Turkmenistan but I had obviously never been there before, so this whole trip was like "seeing my own research coming alive before my very eyes." It's was like "Hey! That was in my video! I talked about that and did an animation about it!" The feeling is quite invigorating and I would say much of it is fueled by that looming underlying notion that "I'm in a heavily restricted area... yet I have ACCESS"

Lupine's staff and local contacts were PERFECT, they made sure we were all safe, comfortable, fed, and were even able to improvise in problems arose. The group I was with was great, I got along with everyone, and made new friends.

Best of all, they helped us "see the lesser known parts" that don't get much spotlight. They gave us ACCESS. They gave us a chance to do something very few get to accomplish. That in itself is the biggest treasure of the experience.
