Having rang today ive managed to get an email confirming my instalation.

Ive asked if the date can be brought forward from the 6th of October i will report back.

We’re excited to confirm that your fiber installation has been scheduled! Below are the details of your appointment:

•Installation Date: Monday, 6th October 2025
•Time: Between 9:00 and 12:00

I feel very proud as i believe im the first to have 2 installations

I will be the proud owner of 2 routers.

Dreadful

Dreadful. I have been using them for four years and everthime I go back and forth between Ireland and UK it doesn´t work or takes days to work. It won´t even allow me to ring or access the help number as I can´t ring out any number. The best part is depite by having to tell by EMAIL as I can´t ring them and they can´t receive calls from from them they email to tell me they CAN´T GET THROUGH!!!

If I manage to get through Iam asked me the same questions all of which I have done before I evn try to call, i.e.mmake sure its on the primary or secondary plan label, line turned on, choose Lobster selection roading, write in Lobster under APN

Time Frames

TIME FRAMES

Do not believe Lobster regarding time frames. You are advised that the swap from your present provider will be smooth and efficient and will be carried out in a professional manner.

Nothing could be further from the truth. I was transferring my 1GB fibre internet plan and two mobile numbers from Movistar to Lobster. I was advised that during the transition period I should not cancel my Movistar contract as there may be technical difficulties. I commenced the process on 15th July 2025. On Friday 18th July a technician arrived and fitted a Lobster broadband router. All going well or so I thought.
I had been told that my Lobster sims were in the post and that after porting I would be able to use these sims when I received a message from Movistar on my mobile.

The sims did not arrive until 13 days later! I think the Lobster representative I was dealing with had forgotten to send them. Even in the Canary Islands it does not take 13 days to send sim cards by courier The porting process itself took a total of 25 days during which time I was paying for both my Movistar and Lobster connections. As the whole process was so protracted and not a little frustrating I thought it would be a nice gesture for Lobster to compensate me with a discount on the period I was waiting for the porting process to be completed.

This process started on 8th August and it took until 21st August, after numerous calls to customer services, being on hold for an age and being told I would be called back tomorrow before I was finally told that to quote “If we compensated people for every delay we would go out of business.”

To sum up the porting process was protracted and painful. Customer services may be all in English but is operated by people who will try to blame anyone but Lobster for the delays. They tried to blame Movistar, the courier company and myself for proving an incorrect NIE number (not correct) anyone except Lobster.

If you are thinking about switching to Lobster fine but remember that their timescales are unrealistic. Sending two sims - advised two to three days, in reality 13 days. Porting - advised 48 hours in reality 25 days. Remember these delays are not only frustrating but they will cost you money.

I am having big problems with this…

I am having big problems with this company having signed up for ultra fast fibre broadband in November, and having 2 mobile phones being a customer for almost 4 years.
We have had NO WIFI/BROADBAND/FIBRE now for 10 days!! I call and email every day to chase this?! I’ve been told conflicting stories by the call centre and via email I was asked my availability for an engineer which I said anytime as we are desperate now having no internet. I then had another email saying our problem is a problem in our area. This is not true at all! I have spoken to 4 other lobster fibre customers in the area and they DO NOT have a problem. I called this morning to be told now it’s a problem with the wiring to the house, whereas the first time we called about this we were told there was no problem with our line?? I have asked to speak to a supervisor to be told Jo I can’t, I have asked for the number of the head office in Madrid to be told no they won’t give me it. I am now trying to contact their CEO as it’s getting ridiculous with the conflicting stories, and now not being able to give any timeframe of when it will be resolved is unbelievable!!

Service Breakdown

My prepaid plan stopped giving coverage July 31 although I had paid up to 14 August. I thought my phone/SIM at fault, but those checked out just fine. Lobster support numbers only work via phone connection which I don´t have. They do not respond to emails, hence no help or answers whatsoever as to the non coverage issue. I´m left out of pocket having to change providers which will leave me further without coverage. Not a great result.

Great service for a great price

Great service for a great price. Been clients since they started but tonight James on the 711 helpline went above and beyond to sort out some admin for us. Patient and happy to take time to sort it.

Been with Lobster for quite some time…

Been with Lobster for quite some time with no problems. Recently had a technical problem when travelling with my wife to Canada on a stop over in Amsterdam. Called help line and got a very rude service operator. Made an email of complaint and have received no response whatsoever. Very poor customer service.

Dear Sir/Madam,

By way of this e-mail, I lodge a complaint reference very poor, unacceptable and rude service from one of your support operatives 28/072025. I called the help center to report a problem with coverage in the Netherlands where no data service would connect. Firstly I was informed that Lobster had no service provision agreement with Dutch mobile service providers. When I questioned said support operative over this, she told me “Oh I better check this then.”. She then backtracked and told me that “yes there was an agreement”.

I then explained that I had no LTE, 3G, 4G data service and could not access data while not connected to WiFi.

Many times, I carried out her instructions telling me to check my mobile data configuration on my IPhone 11. What she’d advised me to do wouldn’t work. She accused me of not carrying her instructions correctly and became rather rude to me by saying she didn’t believe what I had told here. She was continually extremely impolite and sighed many times showing her frustration.

I was extremely polite to her asking her why she was so frustrated, and, that if she didn’t wish to help then I would cease using Lobsters services. I was then told to switch off my mobile for five minutes, restart it and she would then call me back. This never materialized.

This put me in the position of having to research and fix the problem myself!

I was en route to Canada with my Wife to visit family, and Service is imperative to ensure access to flight information, banking information etc through the internet, which through your operatives lack of customer service focus was causing high concern over Lobsters ability to help and resolve technical problems and cause unnecessary angst to myself.

I take no pleasure in making this complaint, but, feel it necessary to ensure your awareness and hopefully prevent recurrence of this type of behavior. I am sure you have a recorded record of the conversation and would ask that you refer to such for full transcript of the event.

I am now reviewing my relationship with Lobster due to this awful and unacceptable service.

Terrible

Terrible, useless company. If it's not one problem, it's another. Consistently bad signal which often borders on unusable, poor customer service, headache to roam. Just all around awful.

Within one week it stopped working no…

Within one week it stopped working no internet I called on 11 different occasions to be told they would look into it the engineers eventually stated it would not work in my area yet they charged me for 2 months and charged me a cancellation fee. So cost me in total 160 euro for a service that was non existent and could never be installed at my address would never recommend them to anyone

I Wish I'd Never Heard of this Company. AVOID!

This has to be the most frustrating company I've ever dealt with. They advertise that it's all in English, which is fine except no one actually knows what they're doing or does their job.
I was booked in for a fibre installation and waited at home for hours but the engineer didn't call or turn up. I rebooked for the following Monday but again no call or appearance. I re-rebooked for Thursday but again no engineer or call.
No one at Lobster could tell me what was going on and I've wasted weeks trying to get a basic service.
I ordered two mobile phone contacts and was sent three SIM cards, which was a bit confusing.
The mobile SIMs are a bit tricky to get up and running but once I did they worked fine, despite a Lobster customer service agent telling me that only one out of the three was supposed to work. When I asked why I been sent SIMs that aren't supposed to work she's said "I don't know". Luckily I called back and got someone else who helped a little more.
This company is a disaster and I would stay as far away from them as possible.
I've gone back to Vodafone!

Full Fibre Install

I’ve been with Lobster for my mobile in Spain for several years and they offer a great service. Recently I’ve added full fibre internet. Sam Boneham was an absolute star in arranging the installation and answering queries promptly and clearly. It was a trouble free process from beginning to end. Fantastic. Thanks Sam!

New customers

We have just moved to Lobster from a Spanish provider. Lisa Gordon from Lobster provided an excellent service and made the transition effortless. We arranged everything from the UK and the engineer arrived at the prescribed time to coincide with our visit to Spain.

If privacy matters to you, stay away!

I chose Lobster based on many positive reviews and personal recommendations. However, what I experienced in terms of data privacy and how they handle sensitive information is truly alarming.

When I first tried to sign up for a fibre contract via their website, I was contacted by a service agent — through her personal WhatsApp account. She asked me to send my bank details and personal information via WhatsApp so she could set up the contract.

After expressing my concerns and asking for a more secure method (which they claim to offer in their website FAQ), she told me the only way to sign up securely online was by first signing up for a mobile contract. That would create a customer account, and from there, she could manually add the fibre contract and later cancel the mobile one.

Reluctantly, I agreed — it was only €5 extra, and I was planning to get a Spanish mobile number anyway.

The fibre installation went smoothly, and the service itself has been working fine so far. Internet speed is more or less as advertised.

However, the privacy issues didn’t end there.

The router came with a pre-installed Wi-Fi network and password that the technician gave me. I wanted to change the network name and set my own password, but there was no documentation included, and nothing available on their website.

I’m technically savvy and did some digging — normally, this router model is customizable by logging into its admin panel. But Lobster appears to have blocked access to these settings.

When I contacted customer support, they simply asked me to give them my new Wi-Fi password over the phone so they could set it remotely. I’m not a cybersecurity expert, but that completely defeats the purpose of having a password in the first place. Every other provider I’ve used encourages customers to change these settings themselves — Lobster doesn’t even provide the option.

I won’t go into detail about how poorly the service agent handled the situation.

Right now, I’m still debating whether to switch providers. For now, I’ve connected a separate router with a VPN, essentially giving me the same privacy I’d have on public Wi-Fi — which is saying something.

Frankly, I’m shocked that a mobile company in 2025 treats data privacy this carelessly. I’m seriously considering filing a formal complaint with data protection authorities. Someone needs to investigate whether these practices comply with current regulations.

Good and bad

Great service - when you can get it sorted because the administration is awful! Failure to respond to emails, nobody takes ownership of any issue - great that it’s in English (we are not fluent in Spanish yet) but could be so much better.

My Husband uses Lobster since we moved to Spain six years ago.
This company are professional, prices and data are excellent

They have just doubled his data with no extra cost.
If you need an English speaking company look no further.
Thank you to you all at Lobster you are a credit to your company.
Definitely a five star plus service

Does not work, tried just about everything

Not worked properly since getting my SIM. Set up only phone would do texts. Rang to he told that there was nothing to indicate a problem on the system. Tried a few things and told to ring back if they didn't work. I have tried the SIM in three different phones even putting one of them back to factory settings, nothing. All I could do was make calls. Rang again told it was.more technical.and would need escalating. Asked to send screennl shots of what was happening, lobster could text me and I could reply but to no one else. Let the monthly fee run out while they sorted their end gave my English number for them to update me, nothing. I am back in Spain now and NOTHING works not even calls it will not connect to any network. Totally frustrating and so far would not recommend this SIM.
NO CONTACT FROM LOBSTER.

Five Star Mobile - minus five star on…

GREAT on Mobile minus five star on Fibre Optic connection. having spent telephone hours (literally hours) trying to get Wi Fi connection I requested details of my nearest store, hoping for a face to face discussion. I was told the list had been e-mailed to me which when open, was just their usual web page. Frustration beyond, so pleased over many years with our phone arrangement, Wi Fi, not so !!!

Following on from my previous…

Following on from my previous complaints and poor experiences. I have return to Spain only to find that neither of our phones are connected to the network. I cannot phone for help. If I email or sms it takes several days before anyone replies. However from previous experience they contact me immediately they get a bad report on trustpilot. So monitor your email as efficiently as you watch and reply to social media site please.
Update thank you for your reply. Luckily my phone worked this morning. Your service centre set up a new APN and it all worked. Unfortunately that only lasted less then 10 mins. So you can only contact me through email as neither of our phones work.
