Rented dirty moldy apartment and not fully refunded.
Rented an apartment from this company via AirBnB. I initially tried to rent a different apartment but they said it was not available: I believe they may have used that nicer apartment as a bait to offer me other apartments. I was booking last minute and it seemed fine so I booked the apartment they recommended. I arrived to find the floors dirty and mold in the bathroom. There were loose tiles on the backroom floor (which was cropped from photos on the unit) and mold/water damage in the living room (directly below the bathroom). There were cob webs in the corners of the rooms and generally dusty/dirty. Unfortunately, I could not stay there and had to leave as the mold was making me sick. The host demanded that I stay and let them send a contractor but I could not for health reason. They told me to leave and cancel the reservation. However they would only refund a part of my reservation and not the whole thing. The host re-listed the apartment immediately which would not be enough time to deal with the mold. The host also said in instructions to say you were 'family friends' if you encountered neighbors which makes me think it may be an illegal listing. Do not trust this company. It is only run by one person: Avina Shah (Avina Ashwin Shah) according to public records. She later tried to get my private information from me in order to process a refund and implied that there would be legal documents needed before I would be allow to be refunded. I did not feel safe continuing to speak with her.
