Getting real damn tired of waiting for a book box I ordered in APRIL!! Keeps getting delayed and now they won't answer any questions I have. They are just leaving me on read. I made the mistake of ordering a second set in the series they are doing and my bank won't let me dispute charges more than 4 months old.
Their constant emails of "On track to ship" turn into "Delayed" then back to the "on track to ship" to delayed into the NEXT YEAR!!! Why not be transparent and just say this is an extreme pre-order. Then we get emails saying not everything we paid for will be included, so we are getting an e-signed plate. Disgusting.

I bought a special edition book for my friend’s birthday in the summer, knowing it would be shipped in the fall. Then it became late fall. Now I get an email saying they’re going to “try to send it by next year.” This is ridiculous. I only bought this book because the book was special to my friend, and there isn’t even a way to request a refund. This is absolutely unacceptable and simply unprofessional. I spent a lot of money (for me) for my friend instead of buying her any other gifts! Now my present is almost an entire year later and I have no faith this will be here “by next year.” Don’t waste your time or your money, because they’ll happily take it from you. 😒

Ordered a limited edition boxset in April 2023 which was due to be shipped fall 2023. Many updates later with assurances that the set would be shipped fall, this was then stretched to late fall. I never received the latest email update, but on checking the shipping blog, it appears that this item will now be shipped NEXT YEAR! Incredibly disappointed.

I preordered a special edition in April, intending to give it to my daughter for Christmas. I periodically received emails saying “don’t worry, it’s still shipping this fall” which in the fall turned into “don’t worry, still shipping LATE FALL” until today when I checked the shipping blog and they posted yesterday saying it might be next year. I’m furious. How could it be on track to ship 12 days ago when you emailed and now it might be next year?! Because it was never on track in the first place. This was too expensive to not get it right. What a joke.

I have been subscribing to Litjoy for a couple of years now for their boxes and I also purchase their monthly Lunacorns subscription which gives you points and discounts.
Yes the boxes are delayed, however this is due to the fact that often 1 or 2 items is delayed in manufacture so they can't ship the box until they have all the items. The boxes are amazing and such good value, despite the P&P to the UK and the darn taxes us Brits have to pay. The items are always so beautifully made and such detail goes into the products. Twice, I've had something broken but after emailing their customer service team they always send a replacement. Their customer service is fabulous, just remember there is a massive time difference between the USA and the UK so you may not get a reply until the next day. I love the Litjoy boxes and honestly don't understand the bad reviews. It's just such a shame that the UK can't provide a Harry Potter subscription box that's as awesome quality as the Litjoy ones.
I've noticed that since Covid the boxes have been delayed but that goes for a lot of things. If you have patience and love Harry Potter then I can highly recommend subscribing to Litjoy. If you order separate items from their shop then these items arrive quickly so it's just the boxes that take a while.
If you subscribe to their Lunacorns membership you get points every month and every time you purchase from them. The points are tremendous and it means that you can get a lot of money off any boxes or separate purchases you make. It's probably one of the best reward points systems I've had. On several occasions I've had 25$ off a purchase which is a massive discount.

They charge your card every quarter but consistently have shipping delays lasting months resulting in now subscription boxes arriving. For example, I have yet to receive my spring quarter box but just got an email that my fall 2023 box I delayed. When I contacted customer support they are unhelpful and even accuse customers of lying about not receiving boxes. Based off the other reviews here I wish I would have done my research before purchasing from this company.

Boxes are never shipped on time. They're usually months behind and don't apologize or give subscribers any reason or coupons for the wait. If you try to use points and add them to the product but don't actually check out and decide against the purchase, you lose all your points. The hp themed boxes used to be really nice quality items. Now it's as though they're just throwing random stuff together that done even make sense. I'm assuming that's why they're discontinuing harry potter themes crates. I do not recommend this over priced company

Ordered a reading journal with the points I had saved up at the time and paid $12 delivery. Tracking number never worked and after about 6 weeks I got in touch with litjoy to check on the status of my order. Was told it was already delivered. I went back on my ring camera to the date the said and saw that the delivery driver did visit - he knocked on my door, walked of to the side of my house out of camera shot and then left the garden without leaving a note. I sent them the footage and they came back to me a few days later with a picture of my package stuffed behind one of the plantpots at the end of my garden. I went out to check but obviously after 2 weeks the package was gone. The plantpot in question is up against my neighbours fence and can be seen from the street. At first they offered me a replacement or refund but before I could even answer them they backtracked saying since delivery could be proven I could only have replacement of product for cost of delivery or just a replacement. I argued this with them - why should I pay anything, claim it back from the company who miss-delivered the item, but after a while of them arguing against me I got back to them to say I would have the refund of product (I didn't want to lose the saved up points, but I wasn't paying twice for a product to be 'delivered'). Well they ate now backtracking again saying as delivery was proven it is against policy to refund ??? Delivery was not proven at all, the delivery man just left my package in a random place I would never think to look that can be seen from the street and accused through my neighbours garden and then left no note to indicate that it was there! I was a crate subscriber/lunacorn for years and spent thousands with this company for them to basically call me a liar over $12 delivery fee. Surely if I was trying to get something for free it would be the $200+ orders I'd been getting delivered for the last 3 years, not a reading journal that was free with points?? This is the only time in all my orders(10 since January 2022, plus 10 months of paying for lunacorn subscription. And a lot more the previous years) that I have ever reached out to litjoy and this was the experience I recieved. I'm disgusted with the customer care from this company and am looking in to a way of reporting their conduct to the federal trading commission.

I really like the harry potter themed subscriptions. I've collected most of them now and enjoy the creative items I receive and as a huge HP fan I'm rarely disappointed. The only criticism I have is as I'm UK based so the delivery and tax equal the same cost of the subscription box. So $54 becomes $110 which is quite a jump. And they can be quite flexible on there delivery times, I've received a few of my subscription a month or so after they where due and they reason is always the same that a product for it hasn't been received yet. Which I'm not unhappy to wait for but they don't offer anything for the delays like and free item in the box or a voucher to use towards another item. Other than that though I've been happy with this company.

Unsure of the dark arts crate, I ordered the sub box plus 9 keys all came in same box, was a little disappointed when I saw the keys in as that meant the sub box was poor. However let me review just the box. Was disappointed as there was only really a small amount of items. The cursed necklace was a pin wasn’t too happy about that. The dagger letter opener and blanket was cool though. The thoughts are I would review this as just ok. I don’t think it’s worth the £106 I spent inc postage to U.K. though. I have had mixed experiences with Litjoy. The burrow crate I absolutely loved and the keys are incredible. However I think they are getting progressively worse with the subs boxes. Please Litjoy please concentrate a little more on the sub boxes. I can’t give 5 stars cos not worth that but also not worth 1 star so a middle rating of 3 seems fair for my opinion.

Complete lack of transparency. As others have stated, very money oriented. I pre-paid for several months of subscriptions in June. I have yet to receive a single box. They have great limited edition options but not worth the subscription if your hoping for early access. Plus the additional $10/mo fee for "special access" on top of a subscription is bullocks. Given this is geared toward middle grade books, this feels like preying on vulnerable younger readers.

I was a subscriber to Litjoy's Magical Crates and have spent over $2K with this company. In 2020 and the early 2021, they were so incredible and very magical, after the Burrow Crate, the box's quality and uniqueness went downhill. I unsubscribed when the Magical Classes box came in 3 months late (totally understand it being late due to the global supply chain issues) and they did notify their subscribers of the delay and told us that they would ship these out to us once they arrived to Litjoy in January (vs when the box was supposed to ship in April) I unsubscribed to the quarterly boxes not because of it being so late but because the quality of their boxes are no longer worth the $72 (box + shipping). An example on their poor quality is the mandrake planter came broken and the label was put on crooked, and they also misspelled a word of the item itself, they were able to get it correct on the box it came in but not on the item itself. They spend more time and effort on the design of the box vs the item itself which is sad. Was it worth waiting 3 months for this box --- absolutely not, the pot looks like it was glued back together, label is crooked and the misspelled word, Making sure items are accurate and in good quality are 100# in their control. Salt & Pepper Potion Bottles were another example of poor quality control, it looks like a bottle from the dollar store with a label just slapped on with the edges rubbing off, these were underwhelming. Once again the box is designed better the then item itself. Next was a plastic bag, that fits into a pouch, that I will never use, as its all crinkled up, The tea cup and saucer was not very original as its been done by every other HP crate company out there but they were the only one that managed to spell the grim incorrectly, once again no quality control. What is really sad is the wow factor of the box both items had misspellings. The add on's are better than the box, so since the boxes no longer sell out, I will wait to see it it's worth it and just stick to addons. I would not recommend buying their magical crates at this snapshot in time.

long time sub spent hundreds inc buying the add on keys at £20-30 each..last box after the burrows was terrible got bad reviews all round.3 month wait for this box and the price paid it was terrible with spelling mistakes ,cheap made items looked like from ali express (china) and with the shipping and bank costs for actually buying from usa which is about £5 in total almost £100..took payment for next box before i could cancel,Go look at YT videos and see yourself ..ooh and being lunacorn they are deleting negative reviews from there FB page too.. you are losing customer's fast and just moved to a new building ,your doing to much and getting greedy to your detriment.

The worst subscription box I have ever ordered. It took six months to arrive, and when it did some of the items were broken, and the remaining items were cheap dollar store quality. For 70 dollars I could have purchased better Harry Potter collectables. They are refusing a refund as well. Very rude customer service. Save your money.

I love LitJoy. Their boxes are perfect for the literary lover. My favorites are their magical boxes and their classics. They've always fairly addressed my concerns (which really only happened once), and have been super kind when corresponding. Def recommend!!

I had been a subscriber with them for years and would buy most of the special edition stuff on top of the monthly crates. One of the package the shipped which contained roughly 100$ worth of merch was shown as delivered but I hadn't received it. I contacted the company and they replied that they're not responsible for that. (Mind you I had placed that order before they started charging extra to "insure" the package against such things. Considering that most packages I get from them have a high value it would be ridiculous for me to keep ordering from them if they can't do anything when things like that happened. But the absolute WORST part about all of this is that in the last year only I spent OVER 1300$ with them and they chose to let me cancel all my unshipped orders and subscription rather than either send me the package again or reimburse me. I used to love them, now I'm disgusted by their customer service. They are quite literally loosing hundreds of dollars with me for a 100$ package.

Considering their crates are about 70$ after taxes and shipping, the fact that you only get about 5 items is pretty bad. Other boxes will fill it to the brim, but litjoy seems to fill over half the box with paper filler. Not to mention that half the items are paper and the artwork is super dramatic and weird. The add ons to the box should be in the box. Why did I pay 70$ for a glass sized golfball, a bookmark, a piece of paper, a picture of artwork that looks nothing like the characters, and a 4in stained glass that didnt even come with a hanger? No clue but I magically unsubscribed. 10/10 would recommend not buying it and wait until others have reviewed it on youtube. They havent been selling out lately (wonder why) so you don't have to unknowingly pay for trash. The rememberall was about the only cool thing about this box, but you can buy it w/o the other junk.

Bought the Strange the Dreamer set for my sister, because she wanted it for her birthday.

Less than 24 hours after placing my order, she changed her mind and so I emailed Litjoy asking if they could cancel my order because of the above.

They told me they cannot cancel orders, and that it’s my fault for not reading their T&Cs. I said I read and understood them, however this set has not even been produced or shipped yet - it’s not due to ship until June!

They haven’t even sold out, they could easily cancel my order and sell it again without even having to relist the book on their website - but they wouldn’t because they want the money more than loyal customers.

That’s just greed over customer care, and I will not be using Litjoy again.

I just love their magical subscription box. It’s full of super cute and well selected items and it feels like they’re putting a lot of love and thought in it. Also the customer service is very friendly and ready to help. Definitely a must have for ever big Harry Potter fan!
