Received my L-1 in a timely manner which was great. Initial impressions were a little disappointing. The size of the knee board itself seems to be a little small in my opinion for my iPad mini. Additionally, the way the clear plastic strap buckles across the knee board interferes with the iPad as it rests in place (it has to sit a little bit on top of the buckle on the right side.) I'm debating removing the plastic strap completely because it's just in the way. The material/build quality for everything that isn't leather also doesn't seem the best. I question how long the elastic corner straps for the iPad will last, given that they're stretched to the max holding the iPad per my first point as to overall size. For reader reference I have an iPad mini 4.

I was happy to receive my new air boss flying shoes. I bought the woven fabric in hopes that it would be a little cooler. I had some of the original air boss shoes but wore them out after several years. So it was time to get them replaced. The original design was quite narrow and I had to buy them a half size larger and loosen the laces just to get my feet in them. The new shoes (called normal width) fit perfectly and are true to size. Great improvement! These shoes are great for competition aerobatics! As opposed to racing shoes or running shoes the heel doesn’t stick while you are applying rapid full rudder deflection inputs. The plastic heel sliders are a big help. The soles are relatively stiff to allow transfer of force to the rudder pedals but not so stiff that they are uncomfortable. Not sure I would want to walk around in them all day though. The shoes aren’t fireproof in case you wondered about that. I don’t fly acro without them!

So far, so good. I’ve used the shoes just a couple of days. I am hard on aviation shoes because I give rides in a P-51 and end up wearing them all day at times. We will see how they hold up.

I am disappointed upon the receipt of my Lift Navigator L-1 kneeboard. I feel the picture on the website is misleading. What I saw when I ordered the item is a kneeboard that is wedge shaped: higher at the forward edge to the iPad would be angled somewhat towards me. What I got was a kneeboard that sits flat on my leg so my view of the iPad is oblique. Having received the item and looked again at the website I can see how I was misled. I shall not be using this item and will be returning it for credit.

I paid $16.00 for two day shipping. That was a week ago and my package has yet to come. Expected delivery is in another week.

Website has a default shoe size of 7. This is not a good user interface as if somehow the actual shoe size is not selected or saved, then a size 7 shoe is ordered. Seems it would be worthwhile to have a confirmatory step to ask the user to validate the shoe size before the final order. This caused some issues, delays, and extra cost for me to ship back the initial order.

The cloth helmet was fine, but I needed to attach sticky velcro strips around the ear pieces of a Lightspeed Zulu so that it didn't slip out of the helmet. I am flying aerobatics, with frequent upside down and inverted maneuvers. The snap strap mechanism is great.

Web site was easy to navigate and the item I ordered was delivered very quickly with no fuss or muss.

I recently purchased a pair of the Air Boss Ultraknit pilot shoes. They were shipped promptly and packaged double-boxed to avoid damage in transit. I have found them to be thoughtfully designed for pilot use, as advertised, and very comfortable right out of the box.

Stitching is of low quality, even becoming undone in one spot, right out of the gate. if not for that, you would have a 5 star rating
