Better service and better costs
I went for an introductory hearing test as I was thinking of moving to Leightons from my long standing hearing aid sales/support company that I had been with for 7 years. The service at Leightons Haslemere was excellent in every way. I wish I had moved to them years ago, having overstayed with the other group out of misplaced loyalty. The cost comparison was very good as well.

Stuart Roberts is a marvel
Stuart Roberts is wonderful, has helped me so many times with my ears! I have hearing aids which I bought from a different company and twice one of the domes has come off in my ear and both times Stuart has rescued it with huge care and attention. A big thank you to him.

Eye Test at Haslemere
Eye test for myself and my mother at Haslemere, very efficient test and really helpful with choice of glasses and reuse of newish frames. Really good tailored service, brilliant staff both at test and checking fit.

An Unnecessary Delay for Appointment
The visit and service I received were effective, efficient and all was fine. However, my concern is that when I attended this appointment 2 weeks earlier, I was informed that the hearing test could not be done as there was some wax in my ears, and I would have to arrange a separate appointment for the wax removal. Why ? - the wax did not require ear-drops before it could be removed! To make matters worse, when the wax was removed elsewhere, the Audiologist said the hearing test could have been done successfully as the ear drum was partly visible in both ears. I was not pleased to hear all this as I now live 20 miles from Leightons in Haslemere.

Many thanks for your feedback we're pleased to hear that you were happy with the service provided and glad to see that you have got on well with the support we have been able to provide you with over the years.
With regards to your recent appointments, we can see that you had an excessive amount of wax present during your first visit which can be an issue when trying to conduct a thorough and accurate hearing test. We need to make sure the test is accurate so we can ensure that the hearing aids are able to perform optimally and when there is too much wax this is not something we can guarantee, which is why it was recommended that this is cleared. Based on BSA guidelines for earwax removal it is recommended that wax is softened with oil prior to any wax removal procedure which is why we were not able to offer wax removal during your first appointment. Oil and other softening agents can cause some wax to come out of the ear on its own accord which is potentially why when seeing this other provider they were able to determine that a hearing test could be conducted at that time, this was not the case when attending your first appointment with us. A partial view of the eardrum is however not enough for us to determine the full health of the ear and hearing system which is key for us to check at follow-ups in case there are other issues that need to be checked. We are not able to offer microsuction in our Haslemere practice but can offer other earwax removal procedures all of which are included as part of your aftercare with us.
We hope to see you in the near future to be able to offer ongoing support to you.

I attended Leightons in Haslemere with Stuart to explore hearing aids. He is very clear-speaking, friendly and reassuring. Stuart explored my difficulties, did the tests and suggested a product-service for my needs.
Wow, its working much better than I'd hoped. Not missing any conversation now, the aids are discrete and easy to use. Its not cheap but such a helpful investment. Not being able to hear was damaging my confidence.
