Cocktail Making & Meal at Las Iguanas Liverpool for a Hen Party of 15

Our day began with what was supposed to be a fun, interactive cocktail-making session and a meal. While we did receive the advertised margarita on arrival, that was sadly where the positives ended.

To our dismay, the cocktail-making session was set up to take place at a table awkwardly positioned in the middle of the restaurant, directly in front of other diners who were trying to enjoy their meals. Not only was this incredibly uncomfortable, but it also completely killed the atmosphere. I raised my concerns there and then, as this setup was not only inappropriate but also entirely different to the bar-based setting that is typically expected (and shown in promotional images).

It was only after I insisted that they reluctantly moved us to the bar area, which is where this kind of activity should have been arranged in the first place not in the middle of the floor?

Even after that was resolved, the session itself was rushed and underwhelming. We made just one cocktail each when we paid for the event of 2 cocktails each, all of the exact same recipe, with no variation, no flair, and no real engagement.

There was nothing fun or memorable about it – we were in and out so quickly it felt like a box-ticking exercise rather than a real experience. This didn’t come close to the standard advertised.

We felt rushed from start to finish. There was no time to relax, enjoy the process, or even engage properly with the host. What was advertised as an engaging and hands-on experience felt more like a conveyor belt – in and out as quickly as possible. It was generic, impersonal, and frankly, very poor value for money. So if we base the cocktails at £9 each then we lost £135 that was already pre paid!!

THEIR RESPONSE WAS AS FOLLOWS, 2 COCKTAILS WERE NOT MADE SO IT WAS NOT FOLLOWED AND WHERE ELSE WOULD YOU EXPECT COCKTAIL MAKING TO TAKE PLACE, AT THE BAR!! AND IF THIS IS NOT THE CASE DONT USE PROMOTIONAL IMAGES OF IT HAPPENING AT THE BAR!

Las Iguanas stated that even though they don’t specify that the class will take place at the bar, our team did move the group over once they were made aware of the upset, and we’re sorry this wasn’t the case from the start.

As with all of our cocktail classes and states, each guest had the opportunity to make two of the same cocktails from our set menu, which was followed in this instance. Will be unable to offer any compensation and will not change their stance on the matter.

We visited Las Iguanas at Cribbs Causeway near Bristol yesterday. We have been there before as we enjoy their menu. Our server was Dominika, a bright and bubbly International Law student, who was a joy to talk with. We did not have a reservation, but even on a busy Saturday evening, the restaurant was able accommodated us. Service was prompt and this time we tried dishes we had not eaten before. As with previous visits, we were not disappointed. We will visit again and thanks to Dominika.

Visited Las Iguanas Middlebrook. We had great food. Really hot and not waiting too long for service. Josie made us feel very welcome but not over crowded. Would definitely return

After ordering food at leamington spa restaurant we realized we were in possession a discount voucher . No problem you would imagine for staff to adjust bill with a refund .
Unfortunately staff were not interested in the slightest in doing the right thing . Consequently we had what could only be described as a very average meal at best and left with a very bad sense of being treated poorly.
Will never visit any las iguanas restaurant again in the future and if this discourages one customer from visiting I would consider this review worthwhile .
Terrible customer service

This was Brighton Jubilee St. Took ages to get served . Not much in the way of veggie options so went for a plant based burger, probable the most tasteless burger I have ever eaten and very expensive

Prices have gone up significantly, service has gone down to the point where it's woeful. This place is a shadow of what it was previously. Waitress totally disinterested and brought the wrong thing. Host was more interested in dancing/flirting with bar staff. Food much more basic than it used to be. Won't be back.

Last minute booking due to Plush Cafe in York letting us down, Las Iguanas York made the night perfect. They accommodated a party of 15 for mu Nieces hen party, Absolutely brilliant thank you so much

Wembley Stadium visit and food was lovely, was delicious and loved the fajitas . Staff attentive polite and friendly

The food is nice but...Torquay restaurant this evening...50 minutes wait for our drinks, main course came just before our drinks and starters arrived 10 minutes after the mains! We had pre-booked a table. People who arrived later were getting served before us. Unacceptable...Las Iguanas, if you don't have enough staff, limit your bookings and/or say you're full to any punters who just turn up!

A multi-generation family group of seven, we booked a table for 1pm at the Torquay Las Iguanas. It wasn’t very busy when we placed our orders for a mixture of small and larger plates according to personal preferences, making it clear that we wanted everything to arrive together. Having much to talk about and enjoying our drinks we didn’t notice for some time that just three small plates had arrived and nobody else had any food.
When a server finally asked if there was anything else we wanted I said ‘Yes please, the food we ordered twenty minutes ago.’
It took another fifteen minutes to arrive and only now included the additional fries some had ordered to go with their small plates!
Absolutely clueless people here, untrained and unprofessional, couldn’t care less about providing a service for their customers.
As I said, not busy in the restaurant but busy in the kitchen making up orders for take out delivery services. A very poor and disappointing experience.

Visited Las Iguanas in Bracknell on Sunday, Food was very very poor, steak very over cooked in spite of asking for medium rare, loaded chicken served with rice and chips which was not properly cooked throughout and my rack of ribs was not on a rack and had been individually presented soaked in sauce so you couldn't work out where it had been before !!
That was the good bit .... the drinks which were definitely needed and seemed like a good offer (2 for 1) were ridiculously watered down and took ages to arrive, these guys aren't mixologists or barely bar staff, possibly their first day but either way some QC should have been implemented because they were all dire, especially the espresso martini which was absolutely the WORST I have ever tasted (#nasty).
We did however have a friends and family voucher for 50% off to soften the blow but the bill for 3 people still came to over £125 which was ridiculous for the poor food, drinks and service we endured. I didn't make a fuss because it was Fathers day and my daughter was trying to do her bit but the experience was something I wouldn't wish on anybody, go anywhere else but here, this place sucks a holes !!!

Booked a table at Las Iguanas Cardiff city centre at 5pm for a pre-show meal. We allowed 2 hours to order and eat. We were seated immediately, and left completely unattended for about 10 minutes, until we managed to flag down a waitress. We ordered drinks, starters and main courses. Drinks were bought after another 10 minutes, and were all incorrect,and sent back. It took another 10 minutes to get the correct ones.
Starters were brought soon after, and the dishes cleared fairly quickly. We were then left for 40 minutes completely unattended, until we were finally able to flag a waitress. We asked where our mains were, as we had to leave in half an hour. The waitress checked, and said they would be here soon. They eventually came, and we had to cram them down in 15 minutes in order to make the show.
The food was not very good, and the meal for three would have cost £100, if we hadn't insisted on reductions for the terrible experience.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. No-one that worked there seemed to care at all about us, the table was dirty, there were very few (not very good) staff, and poor, late, and expensive food.

The restaurant is fine but why, why, why do you use white writing on a white background in your marketing emails???? They are very literally unreadable, it's genuinely horrific

My family and I went to Las Iquanas at Festival Place Basingstoke to celebrate a birthday.
Unfortunately the food was awful and the service wasn’t much better.
They served all meals without sour cream as they had run out (5.30pm on a Saturday!)
They then had the nerve to add a service charge to the bill and wondered why we didn’t leave a tip.
Would not recommend!

Akos was amazing. Honestly he needs a raise. Works really hard and has been amazing tonight

The app says when you download you get £20 off a meal if the meal comes to over £50. Downloaded app. Arrived at restaurant. No offer on the app. Nothing allowed. Sent feedback to Head Office (guest experience email). Message comes back "well you used a different offer on the app." As explained the restaurant said they would not honour a £20 discount so a not so good offer was the best they could do and suggested I use a different one which had a much less discount. Asked for further feedback on why offers are made and then don't work. No answer.

Terrible experience in Canterbury in 'las Iguanas branch'.
Toilets were dirty with no running water. Should have been our cue to leave. Food took 40 minutes to be served with a tasteless dried out pork and pineapple quesadilla and cold potatoes. Mosquitoes and dirty table. Don't waste your time!

James from Gun Wharf Quays was very tentative and friendly.

What made our experience great was the 18 year old Arijon at the Canterbury branch, he was always smiling, great with a large group, very attentive. Great service for someone so young, great job and made our day, we didn’t have to wait too long between drinks at all, especially on a busy Saturday.
I had the chilli which had a nice kick but the portions are on the slightly small side especially the sides!
