Submitted my first case on 27/07 and it offered on 03/08 (include a free val). Excellent broker portal. Easy as pie! Faster than many of my bridging lenders. Great rate too (5.14% 5 year fixed).

Hassle versus a few pounds??
We used Kensington Mortgages due to an old CCJ. Our previous provider leant us a small mortgage of £50,000 based on my income alone as my husband had just changed jobs. It was quickly approved despite the CCJ, all the paperwork was online and couldn't fault them. Kensington would not consider my salary on its own despite it being only 1.5 times my salary and we have a loan to value ratio of only 20%. Even though my husband has now been in his job for 2 years, he had to provide every single payslip, and emails from his employer to verify everything, purely because he had a run of sickness due to stress and grief due to nursing my mother through terminal cancer. It took several months to process, everything had to be posted back and forth as it's not done electronically, and as a result it was not in place until 3 months after it should have been, meaning we had to pay extra mortgage for those months through our previous provider at a higher rate due to the fixed term ending. And to top it all I was on a flight on the completion date meaning my phone was off, therefore it happened the day later and I was charged for this!! We are just relieved it is now sorted, but the additional stress was not worth saving a few pounds per month. They really need to improve their systems and maybe provide an initial guideline as to what happens and when.
