I have used JW Wood on several occasions when buying and selling properties and I have always found them to be extremely efficient, friendly and helpful. Julie Pendergast has been very supportive throughout the process, ringing regularly with updates and offering encouragement and practical advice. Ann Stobbart has been very efficient and professional in helping to secure my sale. Julie and Ann have exceptional customer service skills. I am so grateful to them both and can recommend without hesitation.

Having bought and sold many houses over the last 30 years, I've experienced pretty much all estate agents , on this instance I've dealt with Ann from JW Wood in Durham, I would say that from an efficient, informative and helpful point of view, Ann's been the best I've dealt with and sets an example of how it should be done, house purchases are both expensive and complicated, so quality guidance is a must.

When initially attempting to make a viewing with J W Wood we tried to book in for after 5pm to view a property as I work a 9-5 and would be unable to make my way over sooner as we live and work out of the area. The solution offered for this was to come with my partner for a viewing on the weekend. This, unfortunately, wasn’t a possibility for us as my partner works in hospitality and very rarely is able to do anything on a weekend due to work commitments. On the Friday his work commitments changed and he had availability on the Sunday so we called up immediately to see if it was possible to book a viewing on this day as we had previously been told there was weekend availability to be told they also do not offer viewings on a Sunday and the only way for us to view this property would be to book holidays in at work or to come separately for viewings which is beyond ideal! We have recently been burnt by having to go for separate viewings and an offer being accepted on a property in the meantime so this is not how we wish to move forward. There was no attempt to discuss with management if there was a possibility for any flexibility and the communication regarding weekend availability was abysmal and has left us with a sour taste in our mouth. Why make a process already as stressful as buying a property even more so by having to rearrange our working lives? Very unhappy with the low level of customer service provided.

Ann Stobart of J W Wood was truly fantastic, making the experience of buying a first house smooth, quick and easy. She was always reachable for queries no matter how small and gave me every confidence in the property and the process. Thank you.

I was invited to write this review by JW Wood, so here goes.
Initially when I showed an interest in a specific property JW Wood could not have been more helpful & obliging ensuring that any visits were arranged to suit my timetable, however once I'd comitted to buy the property they were a little less accomodating.
Once a sale was guaranteed their representatives became somewhat changeable/illusive.
To add anxiety to an already stressful situation, on the day of the move the keys to my new house were not made available until 2.00 pm & only then if I trailed through to their offices in Darlington to pick them up (my impression was the keys would be handed over insitu).
6 weeks later their 'SOLD' sign is still in a prominent location outside of the property, this despite my visit to their office in person requesting it be removed (promise that it would be taken down immediately remains unfulfilled 3 weeks later).
On a brighter note staff were always extremely polite & friendly.

Have used JW Wood on more than one occasion and have found them to be efficient and effective when selling my properties. The team have a wealth of experience and will guide you through the process of buying and selling. Highly recommended the professional service

An excellent service from J W Woods of Darlington regarding the agent-led sale of our property.
From the initial valuation, high quality photographs, full professional sales literature and advertising has led to a sale (subject to contract) in a fairly short period. There has been full communication of staff conducted viewings via succinct and timely emails, with telephone calls only when necessary regarding offers, where assistance has been provided. Office staff have been courteous and professional at all times. A highly recommended service.

JW Wood have been very good from the start. We have had to sell my Fathers house under difficult circumstances and they have made the process easy and pain free..

If you're thinking of letting JW Wood manage your property think twice. They charge high fees, communication is dreadful if something goes wrong and they charge you for things without asking! Members of the team admit they have fallen short however managers there do not answer questions in a timely manner and when you suggest a face to face meeting to try and resolve things they refuse! Honestly worse estate agent I have encountered.

J W Woods Darlington were very helpful and supportive throughout. They kept me up to date with progress and made the whole experience of selling my property simple.
