DONT USE 'JET 2 Car Hire'
The car hire company provided by Jet2 is appalling. Jet 2 use a third party system through a company called CarTrawler which does the booking, they in turn use a car hire company called RecordGo (Faro, Portugal)who has a very bad reputation throughout Portugal. Despite us purchasing an extra AXA car insurance with Jet2 as advised by them in advance, On arrival, RecordGo insisted that you purchase their own additional insurance costing in the region of 200 Euro extra fees.
Their manner is rude and you find yourself being bullied. You see, they reject your credit card when you are about to put a refundable bond on condition that the car is returned full of fuel. The same trick was used on another customer while at their office.
I find Jet 2 and CarTrawler directly responsible for this mess, obviously it’s a win situation for all of them and they all get their share in that scam.
My advice is, book a hire car privately, directly through a reputable car hire company and DO NOT USE JET 2 or CarTrawler.
The fact is, you will not know in advance who the car hire company is until you’re in their office which is too late.

Extremely Disappointed with Jet2 Car Hire Avoid!
I booked a rental car through *Jet2 Car Hire* for my holiday in Montenegro, trusting them as part of a reliable holiday provider. Unfortunately, they outsourced the booking to one of the *worst third-party companies*(Green Motion)and I ended up not receiving any car at the airport due to their technical issues.
Despite reporting the issue immediately and providing multiple emails and supporting documents, Jet2's customer support failed to take responsibility or resolve the matter. Their team continued to deflect the issue leaving me stranded with children in a foreign country, and offered no help or refund for the service I paid for but never received.

The whole experience was frustrating and stressful. I would strongly recommend booking directly with a reputable car rental company instead. Jet2 Car Hire’s approach to dispute resolution was dreadful, and their customer support was unhelpful and dismissive.

Total waste of money and a terrible way to start a holiday.

Jet2 is a fraudulent company.

i rented a black car and as soon as i got in the car the engine combusted and i had to replace it after that the seat ejected me out of it instantly and i had to also replace that. please never buy from here, i wouldn't recommend to a orthodontist. My dog was in the back and i drove for 5 minutes and then looked back and he was on the ground immobilized. after that a crackhead came to the window and asked for spare change to fund his issue.

Absolutely appalling

Absolutely appalling.

I hired a car through Jet2. They put me with a third party Called Record Go when we got to Menorca a shuttle bus transported us to an industrial estate in the middle of Mahón away from the airport and no public services. The shuttle bus left and were told we could o my have the car if we paid an extra €200. As we didn’t seem to have much options given we didn’t know where we were or how to get to any public transport. I stupidly paid the money having been told Jet2 would refund me. I spoke to a Jet2 representative at the airport who said and I quote “ I only deal with flight issues sorry”.
I have sent three emails.
I have been online chat
WhatsApp chat
And called there “customer service team” who by the way can only help you spend money, heaven forbid help in another way, I was actually told “the customer services number does deal with customer service issue”.

Thanks to Tracey Lee who is the Pre Travel advisor who clearly can’t advise any one of anything. Instead she is able to accurate demonstrate the companies moronic customer service approach.

It is clear to me Jet2 car hire and Jet2 as a hole is absolute joke, only happy to take money never give back.

Absolute shocking service

Absolute shocking service - paid for a car upfront with all the paper work required on the JET2 website - but when I got to Sicily they wanted more and would not give me a car or a refund. Never again

Jet2 Car hire insurance rip off.

First time I had used Jet 2 car hire and the last, they sub it out to Car Trawler, they do not vet the suppliers at all, I had purchased extra cover etc so I had no worries whilst away. Only to get there and the supplier at that instance was Carwiz I think they left the S out of the spelling, They told me that the Insurance would not cover the car fully as there's would. With just a 4-5 day break I did not want to sit reading the small print to see what the difference was. So I purchased it. Thinking I would take it up with Jet 2 on return, But that is delt with by CarTrawler who don't care anyway as they have plenty more customers they can stich up. It would be like arriving to check in for your Jet 2 flight only to be told that if you want to sit on the inside its extra. Jet 2 need to be careful about this supplier trading on Jet 2 name as it has got a bad reputation.

I WOULD RATE JET2 CAR HIRE 0 STARS IF I COULD

absolutely robbed of over £400 whilst on holiday, half of our spend that has taken us months to save to end up without a car, a further £1,500 taken from our card as a ‘holding deposit’ and all customer care teams not having a clue when you get through via live chat.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS THIS HAS COMPLETELY RUINED OUR HOLIDAY
The car hire is giving jet2 the worst name, disgusting robbing service. I could not be more angry and will be taking this Legal once I return to the UK.

Absolute disgrace

Absolute disgrace. Booked a car hire through jet2 app. Got put through to Avis Budget car hire. Arrived there and they didnt have our car. Still waiting for the £403 i paid. Been calling helpline which informed me they dont know how I was even able to book a car through the app as that option should not have been available due to me already been abroad. Got an open case but no one seems to give a damn. No resolution after almost a week now. Close to ringing my solicitor as I feel I have been mis-sold and potentially scammed with no way of reclaiming my money. My birthday holiday has been ruined thanks to Jet2. Will not be using again. Disgusting behaviour from what used to be a well renowned company.

Unacceptable Treatment & No Refund – Booking Refs: ES352427840 & 251128104

We booked and paid for a car through Jet2hire.com for our family holiday (2 adults, 2 young children). Upon arrival at DelPaso Car Hire in Spain, they refused to release the car because my credit card didn’t display my full 31-character name — something physically impossible due to banking card limitations.

We immediately called Jet2hire.com from the DelPaso counter, exactly as instructed in the booking confirmation. Despite this, Jet2hire.com marked us as a “no-show” and denied a refund.

The most shocking part? DelPaso then used the exact same card they had just rejected to force us into making a second booking — at extra cost — so we would not be stranded abroad with our children.

The experience was stressful, expensive, and completely avoidable. Customer support from both companies was rigid, dismissive, and unhelpful. The complaint was wrongly marked as “resolved” without any refund or genuine resolution.

If this is how Jet2hire.com and DelPaso treat paying customers — especially foreign families on holiday — I strongly advise travellers to avoid them entirely.

Avoid Jet2 Car Hire and Goldcar – Unethical and Deceptive Practices

I booked a car hire through Jet2 Car Hire with Goldcar, including AXA premium insurance to cover any excess. Upon arrival at Malaga Airport around 21:00, ready to collect the car and head to our villa in Marbella, I was told by the Goldcar representative that they do not accept AXA insurance. Despite trying to explain that I had already purchased my own coverage, I was bluntly told that it was invalid and that my only option was to purchase their own insurance – an additional €352 on top of what I had already paid through Jet2.

In addition, I was charged another €142 for fuel cover, which I understand can be common, but despite returning the car with a full tank, I have yet to be reimbursed for this amount.

It became clear that Jet2 simply acts as an intermediary and takes no responsibility for the practices of the companies they work with. Goldcar’s behavior was inflexible, dismissive, and unethical, leaving me with no choice but to pay hundreds more at the last minute or be stranded without a vehicle.

This experience was stressful, costly, and completely avoidable. I strongly advise anyone considering Jet2 Car Hire or Goldcar to think twice. Book directly with a reputable rental company so you know exactly what you're getting and avoid any surprise charges or shady upselling tactics when you arrive tired and just want a smooth pickup.

Lesson learned – I will never use Jet2 or Goldcar again.

Charging families to sit together is scummy

Charging families to sit together. So scummy!! What a horrible practice in this industry.
If you are ripping people off for this, at least make a less complicated online system. When you book via Onthebeach holidays, it is confusing to log into the right part of Jet2.

I repeat do not under any circumstances use this company for car hire . Awful experience Leeds Bradford had a fire alarm so many passengers didn’t board. The flight took off late abd when we arrived the car hire had closed early I tried to ring and they shut early Cartrawler is useless and Avis is worse still Inrang to arrange to pick the car up but they said I couldn’t have one now. So no car for the holidays a total waste of money.Refunds they want so

Came back to fill the form uni didn’t know how to. Useless no flexibility abd why despite saying they would refund they wanted details they managed to refund the insurance so already have my bank details. IMHO just a scam to not pay you.

Do not book with jet2 car hire!!!

Do not book with jet2 car hire…..I booked a car for Larnaca airport. When I arrived to Europcar to collect the car I was met by a horrible lady called Liza. The lady told me my luggage would not fit in the car despite it being advertised as being able to carry 5 people and 3 cases. We were 4 people, 3 cases and a hand luggage. The lady wanted me to pay €180 to upgrade the car to which I stated I don’t need to. She then refused to give me any car and said I was being mean and not listening to her!
Left my family with a young child of 7 stranded at the airport at 12.30am(midnight)
Luckily Jet2 airport staff got us into a transfer to our hotel.
When I rang customer services it was a company called car trawler, who then said I was not eligible for a refund as the time passed for the car hire start time, however this was due to a delay. I have had to raise dispute with visa.

Terrible experience

Terrible experience. We only booked because we trusted the Jet2 name. It was subcontracted to a truly awful car hire company. Rude staff, extra charges, pressure to take extras and marooned in the middle of nowhere waiting for an airport shuttle that didn’t come and worrying about missing our flight. We have complained and had no response.
Just book direct with a reputable company instead.

If I could give zero stars I would.

Booked a car through jet2 carhire & was charged £441.65 when car hire was £230. It states on the site that only a deposit of £20 would be taken.

I then needed to cancel the car hire due to a family bereavement and was refunded £20.

I emailed jet2 to find it was a different compact called car trawler, e-mail rejected as mailbox was full. Managed to chat online to which they stated I had booked 3 cars, no emails to confirm this, and all the reference numbers took me to my one booking.

Finally got refund, but this is because I saw the error & did all the chasing, otherwise I would have been £421.65 out of pocket.

Avoid like the plague & book direct.

Booked meet and greet car hire through…

Booked meet and greet car hire through Jet2, confirmation came through showing that we had to go to the car park and get a shuttle bus to Tangerine car hire 15-20 minutes away from the airport and on return drop off car and again wait for a shuttle bus back to airport.
The definition of Meet and Greet is you arrive at the airport and met by the hire company which is when the car keys are handed over.
When returning you are met at the airport and hand over the keys at the end of the hire.
Details not passed to hirer in reference to this by Jet2.
Will not be using Jet2 again.

Warning! Don't book car hire through Jet2!

Booked car hire at Malaga Airport through Jet2's website. Wasn't aware that they have a third party they contract with a company called - Car Trawler. Terrible instructions for picking up the car and booked us in for a pickup at 7pm when the office closes at 6pm on a Sunday. Needless to say £164 and no car hire. Wasted 1.5 hours looking for where to pick it up! Have contacted Car Trawler for a refund and compensation 35 days later I'm still waiting for a resolution, they tell me they're still wsiting for a reply from Dollar rent a car. Contacted Jet2 and they're not interested instructed me to deal with Car Trawler. Shocking...Jet2 I expect better from you!
