I attended this class provided by Ivor. It has been fantastic to get me started in learning the basics on using my camera

Great course!! Ivor was very engaging to us all in this class (4 people). I would highly recommend his beginner photography course.

Enjoyable relaxed and practical course.
Learning the basics of photography and camera handling and the exposure triangle.

My teenage son and I have just completed a 3x weeks 2:1 photography workshop for beginners. We had tried using our camera and the photos weren't coming out very well.. Ivor taught us how to use the camera across three sessions using different techniques for different conditions. He tailored it to our interests (the last sessions we did at the local zoo due to our interest in photographing animals) and kept it at beginner levels - including handouts to help remind us when we were practicing without him.
Ivor is very knowledgeable (including where to get good coffee and scones) and a lovely person / easy to get on with. Great value for money too. We never felt rushed and the sessions were flexible around our lives. Would absolutely recommend.

Ivor was an excellent instructor! I am lucky enough to normally photograph red squirrels near my home and taking birdlife photographs was initially outside my comfort zone. I shoot with a Nikon Z8 and I used my Nikon Z 100-400mm lens all day. Ivor put me at ease and went through the settings needed to photograph fast moving puffins and a host of other birds. We covered everything from matrix focus settings, aperture priority, minimum shutter speeds and max acceptable ISO and even the wind direction and sun position for the best captures. I thoroughly enjoyed my day on Inner Farne. Coffee was great too!

Recently I attended a street photography workshop with Ivor, he has such a way explaining how and why to use your camera to capture the scene that you want. He shares his photography knowledge with ease, he is patient with clients who need extra tuition

Ivor took his time to explain and demonstrate anything from the Olympus brand in detail. This was extremely helpful as we have changed from another brand. The system is a lot different from other brands and as Ivor says will need practice. We were also given a handout with a guide to key functions, extremely helpful. Would recommend anyone from beginner to competent photographer, especially OM users to spend time with Ivor, a very informative day.

Intelligent planning.
Pre- trip tutorial very helpful.
Good location.
Seasonally appropriate [ as in the birds were nesting].
Very good boat and crew, well looked after.
Safety not a concern.
We were lucky with the weather, but appropriate research had occurred , including wind directions etc.
It was also very friendly and fun.

I would say 10/10.

Ivor was absolutely class makes learning enjoyable and clear so you know exactly what things mean and what your doing will definitely be going back and couldn’t recommend him higher worth every penny!

Can't speak highly enough of Ivor. Did a set of photo's for us and even in windy weather came out really good. Do not hesitate in hiring him for any photo needs.

Ivor was so helpful, patient and knowledgeable. I had a problem I could NOT crack on my own in ON1 and had been banging my head on the wall for ages, but going through it together the solution was reached and I am a very happy snapper! Thank you Ivor.

Ivor was an excellent instructor, providing detailed information in a format suitable for beginners as well as those more familiar with cameras & photography.

The curriculum was well laid out, covering technical as well as artistic components and included handouts summarizing each session.

Was a lovely time outside around the amble pier, got this course as a birthday present to help learn to use my camera better to take higher quality photos. We went through how it works, whats needed, different settings and even a little bit of history. Would 100% recommend to others! The hand outs you get given from the course also help to remember everything you needed to!

Within an hour of my fist lesson you could tell Ivor has a passion for photography and to teach it. I recently did a beginners workshop which involved three 2 hour lessons with Ivor. Ivor has taught me to be so much more confident with my camera and how to use its settings, controls, understanding the exposure triangle & how to take amazing photos which aren't blurry or over/under contrasted. I had chose Ivor over other photographers I had contacted due to the fact that i noticed he is an ambassador for OM Systems, as well as being a known reviewer on the latest unreleased camera equipment, product reviews and articles on Fstoppers.com, and his articles are all a very good read which gave me the confidence he knows what he's talking about. I found Ivor very patient and very helpful with the amount of questions I had asked over the lessons, he was very happy to help, and also answered questions out of his normal working hours. The lessons were 2 hours long, which absolutely flew by, but I noticed Ivor didn't mind going over the allocated lesson time which was really nice.

Ivor went above & beyond to make the photography course I purchased for my sister a really enjoyable experience. She loved it & learned an awful lot of tips & tricks.

I have just completed a beginner’s photography course with Ivor and it was excellent. He was very passionate and knowledgeable about everything he showed me. I have learned so much from him which I will take forward in the months and years to come developing my own photography skills.
Thank you Ivor. I will be in touch for another workshop. Linda

I recently did the bronze workshop with Ivor after several years away from photography. I had purchased a DSLR camera and great telephoto lens but only had 3 weeks to get up to speed before heading off to the USA national parks to try and put things into practice. I had 3x 2-hour sessions with Ivor which were fantastic. He went through the basics in the first session and then showed me how to get the most out of my new lens in session 2. The final new mystery to me was photo editing and software which we covered in the 3rd session. This has greatly helped to get up and going again, whilst hopefully taking some great shots! Ivor is also really prompt at getting back to you by email if you have any refresher questions after the sessions.

I would recommend working with Ivor. He's a really nice guy and the sessions are in beautiful coastal Northumberland which is an added bonus!

I have really benefitted from doing the Bronze level of lessons with Ivor. Ivor has the perfect combination of high level expertise, professionalism, friendliness and patience in all his lessons. He has helped me to better understand photography, navigate my way around my camera and all its buttons, and to start taking much better pictures. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ivor for lessons. You also get to practice in some beautiful venues. Thank you Ivor, and I look forward to some further tuition with you.

Great one to one workshop with Ivor. He was very knowledgeable, excellent local knowledge and the workshop was pitched at the perfect level for me. Would highly recommend !

Ivor was extremely good at explaining complex photography & making it understandable to a complete beginner. Completely recommend this course.
