Freegle is a great concept, saving items from landfill that will benefit someone else- what’s not to like? It’s surprising how ones person’s rubbish may be just what someone else may need ….great for decluttering the home and the mind!
Some freeglers are kind enough to help with delivery if you don’t have transport.
Just remember …be polite, be reliable and remember that it is FREE (don’t be picky!)

My first experience of collecting freebies was a good one I think freegle is a brilliant idea and a great way to help each other and those who simply cannot afford sometimes the simple things in life.

I absolutely love Freegle. I’ve received items and given items away without much hassle. Sometimes other members can be slow responding/don’t turn up but that isn’t Freegles fault and things can come up etc so I don’t really mind as I just leave the item listed for the next person etc. Would definitely recommend the app

Freegle is a great idea and a perfect place for people to come together to address the modern culture of waste. The concept is simple, need something, want to let something go? Freegle it and offer it to someone else to enjoy or see something you’d like or need and put in a request and you might get it.

Real people with real lives so of course not perfect. But my experience is that many people on there are responsible and go about things with the right spirit of things.

Whatever your reasons it’s a good way to reduce wasting resources and buying things new when there are people out there who have the things you need or would like.

Yes it’s a world with patience but I think this is a good thing also. Too often things these days are now now now and that’s not always the best way of going about things.

Fantastic site to trade unwanted items. Always quick responses unlike some of their competitors. Great way to remove unwanted large furniture items for free and reducing waste at the same time! Feel totally safe meeting people from there as a female living alone.

Excellent website allowing local trade of pre-loved / unwanted working items. I have used it often having just moved out of my parents house and absolutely love it!

Wonderful concept. I have given away stuff that would have otherwise gone to the bin. It felt good to give away something that someone else needed. Always recommending it to my friends.

An incredibly useful site, both for those in need of stuff and for those trying to find a good home for things that would otherwise have to be taken to the tip. Easy to use website which is actively being maintained and improved, with some nice features like the ability to 'promise' something to a specific person while keeping it actively listed, and a one-click option to send details of pick up location, with map. There's a good mobile app, as well, with the same features.

This is a great concept and any recycling is beneficial to the community and the environment as a whole.

Great site for the re-use of just about anything and everything. I've given lots of stuff away, and also got some great stuff. Each time has been a positive experience and it's good to know that it's keeping these items out of landfill.

I have given and received a lot of things through Freegle for myself but also for others. Because each of the groups covers a fairly compact area it is easy to source and collect items. The only downside is you can't ask to BORROW anything. That's because, as they say, it is a site designed to prevent landfill not just pass goods on. Definitely recommend it.

I think that this is a really good website for second hand and old things what other people no longer need as they have new things and other things what they like.

I have been a member of freegle for a number of years and have given and received many items. Everthing on the site is given for free.
It’s a great way of saving good items from land fill and your unwanted items help others.
The site is easy to use and though I have had the odd peron let me down ( I give 48 hours to reply and will then send an email to that person if still no reply I offer it on) the vast majority have been great to deal with. One kind gentleman even bought a dishwasher to my house as he was passing near by.

I love freegle, it is a real community of communities.
It's so nice to be able to help one another. Genuinely good app very worth getting and checking it from the home screen! Don't let this app sit idly by in your apps section! It's great It's a go to for me when looking for something or even just to browse. Less waste ! 😄😁

Freegle, the best sight in the world, Helps you get rid of items you no longer need or want, helps others and keeps stuff out of land fill, we have given loads of items away and also received items, so a win win! I Ho I Ho it's to freegle it will go

Best experience for offering items you no longer require. It not only helps somebody else, it does me a favor as I don't need to take it to the dump. Site is easy to navigate and chat to others that use Freegle.

Brilliant app, keeps stuff out of landfill and recycles locally. We've benefited from giving and receiving on it, and found it easy to use. No separate website (like Freecycle) and you can decide who to give things to, rather than it being assumed it's a first come, first served basis (like Facebook give and takery groups tend to be). Only losing a mark as alerts don't always come up on my phone (despite ticking the boxes for this).

Ok I'm someone who unfortunately had a bit of bad luck and had problems money wise for a little while,I was able to get a One bed flat and tbh Freegle helped me with the things I needed and also helped give things to other people that I no longer needed ! I give Freegle 5* because it seems whatever you need you can get just by taking the time to ask, No one is judgemental eitherAlso all the items that are given to be reused saves Tonnes of wasted Landfill space ! My Eternal Thanks to Cat and all the other Freeglers around the World ( thanks more so to Brighton Freegle) a merry band of Upcyclers !!

I am definitely on board with the giving/sharing/upcycling ethos
and have been using similar sites for some years now and given and
recieved items from mostly kind decent folk.
Yes, as a previous reviewer says, there are wasters, chancers and
somewhat duplicitous scoungers on there at times.
you'll find them on every 'free' message board and Freegle makes
somewhat half hearted limp responses to this.
I expect this is because its too difficult for them to try and weed them out.

However, my main criticism of Freegle is I find it hard to actually like using Freegle itself.
Its too often annoying due to poor design and inabilty or unwillingness to
respond to constructive criticism.
If it were a commercial enterprise the web developers would soon be out of a
job for such lacklustre work.

I've used it again recently and it hasn't improved.
Any listing with multiple pictures automatically shifts to the next pic after some seconds which is very annoying if you trying to get details on whether an item is of any use to you.
NOBODY needs this function!
Are they so patronising that they think folk are too stupid to click an arrow to go to the next picture?

The reputation counter disappears after while so trying to build a good reputation as an honest reliable member is a waste of time.

They seem to have little or no concept of the K.I.S.S. principle
(Keep It Simple Stupid)
and constantly throw in useless add ons and features to 'help' members.

Screen space is wasted for some inexplicable reason.

I could spend a lot of time examining it more deeply for other problems but
I try not spend any more time than I have to on the site.
Using Freecyle is a much more focussed and far less irritating experience.

I have lost count of the pop ups asking
"Tell us your Freegle story"

No edit function and the pop ups!! dear god the moronic pop ups!!
It really is the most annoying site to use.
While i'm ranting on
when one sees an offer you used to be able to see how many replies it has had
This can give an indication of your chances of getting some thing as if you dont reply in 7 nanoseconds the chances of you getting something often diminish rapidly.
This is understandable where a lot of folk will just want the old stuff cluttering up the place out of their way and gone asap.
Freegle in their ineffable wisdom have decided not to
continue this feature, probably because they found it counter to their usual practise of impracticality perhaps?
