I found this an incredibly helpful, flexible and supportive experience and would thoroughly recommend Horizon to anyone in need of some counselling or talking therapy.

Having (thankfully), never previously attended a counselling session, I was more than a bit apprehensive when I attended my first session with Mark. I had no idea what would happen, pr what was expected of me, but Mark instantly put me at ease, and explained the whole process to me, which was great. Over the weeks/ months that I've been attending sessions with him, he's helped me, and put me on the right path, without me even knowing, most of the time. His manner, and the way he goes about helping, is brilliant. I would not be in the place I am now, on my continuing journey, without his amazing help. Thankyou Mark, and Horizon.

I started going to Horizon when I was 16 and now I am 17. Before I started going to Horizon and working with Mark, I was surrounded by friends and relationships which were terrible for me, and I had no self confidence. I had tried going to multiple therapists and counselling sessions before, which all did not work, and I felt as if nobody would help me. However, after my first session with Mark, I instantly knew that it was good for me. He built such a strong level of trust with me that I never felt ashamed or judged for anything I was telling him and I always felt that he understood me and why I was feeling the way I was. Mark gave me advice that I will never forget and always live by, and he has completely changed the way I view the people in my life and just the world in general. I now am surrounded by the best friends in the world that I feel secure around and I can confidently say that I am going to be okay, living with aspirations and working hard to achieve them. Healing takes time and after seeing Mark for almost a year, he made me feel okay with that. Every single session I would leave smiling and feeling confident with myself. Throughout the year, Mark helped me gain the confidence to finally be able to walk away from people that I know now were not good to be in my life and be able to detach myself from people and situations which I never would have been able to do before. Mark always seemed so happy for me when I came to him about my progress and would always be so understanding and empathetic when I came back to him after feeling like I was going backwards again. The other day, I walked out of his door saying that I thought it would be the last time, but Mark made me feel that even if it wasn't, it would be okay. He never made the progress and achievement I made about him, he would always express the fact that actually the person making the progress wasn't all because of him, it was because of me. I will never stop talking about Mark for the rest of my life, and I cannot say anything negative him. I recently just went through a hard breakup, which was the hardest thing I've ever gone through, but Mark was so understanding, let me cry and actually after just 2 months I can now look back at him and feel good that it is over. I have never in my life met a therapist so great, so I recommend Mark SO much.

Mark has been nothing short of unreal. Calm, engaging sessions mixed with both practical therapy and talking made me feel both at ease and safe when with him. He’s been nothing short of life changing and honestly very entertaining and funny as well!! If you ever have anything you’re going through, ask for mark Jeffery at horizon, absolute superstar.

I honestly don’t know where I’d be right now if it wasn’t for Mark, I was in such a dark place and didn’t realise what I was feeling was normal, it was grief, he’s taught me so much to go forward into the future , how to cope, how to open up , something I’ve never done,I’m eternally grateful.

Over the past year and a half, I've been working with Mark at Horizon. With a difficult history across many years, poor mental health was a constant shadow when I began.

I have been seeing Alan Stokes for a while, and through our sessions I have learnt many things about myself, as well as myriad methods to deal with stress, anxiety, self doubt, and how to reframe the way we look at ourselves in a more positive light.

The discussions and material provided are thought-provoking, and allow for introspection that leads to discoveries and breakthroughs that change the way one thinks and lives their day-to-day life.

But this isn't Alan forcing a viewpoint on someone, it is the providing of necessary tools in order to come to our own conclusions and take our own steps forward in order to achieve our goals.

He is a kind, thoughtful, intelligent and interesting man, and I could not reccomend sessions with him enough for any issues one wishes to explore and work on.

After being encouraged to make contract by my partner, and starting my sessions i can honestly say that my life has turned around completely, they have given me the understanding and the ability to deal with life and keep positive no matter what is happening, I will continue to have monthly sessions going forward as my mental health affects every part of my life and maintenance of anything in life.

I entered into counselling sessions with Mark with a very preconceived idea that it would be your stereotypical stagnant environment that required me to do all the talking and bring up buried feelings and emotions from the past. Fortunately, this wasn't the case, my sessions with Mark were really comfortable and I find he catches and matches your sense of humour and level of intellect well and most importantly he will be very honest and not elongate the process any longer than it need be.

Mark was excellent and helped me confront and work through my problems to allow my life to be far happier. I would highly recommend.

Mark was excellent at helping me talk through the breakdown of my relationship with family and getting me back into a place where I felt more confident about going forward. He has helped me immensely and for that I am very grateful.

Amy was absolutely what I needed when I was struggling with my anxiety. My anxiety had stopped me enjoying my days and I wanted that to change. Amy was kind, compassionate and listened and helped me understand what I was feeling. After 6 sessions I feel so much more in control and knowledgeable about my mental health and more confident in managing it on my own, knowing Amy’s door is always open.
