Absolutely DO NOT use these guys. We always made our premium payment on time and never made a claim, and then they decided to drop us anyway. Canceled for no reason. These guys are terrible. Typical s... Se mere

Never used them
Never used them, been hounding me for 240...sent me to collection bureau and a offer to settle for 50%. Scam, Scam, Scam
If I could give zero stars
If I could give zero stars, I would. Like so many others, was offered to bundle homeowners insurance with car insurance with homesite through geico. Left my other insurance because this one was cheaper and they dropped me after two months. Scam of a company.
AVOID Homesite Insurance at all costs
When time to renew, Homesite increased my annual cost by almost $1k! No claims were EVER made against policy, at neighborhood association mtg police captain spoke saying "area is 50% safer than it was for last three years". Homesite wanted almost $700 to start renewal policy. No explanation for hike was given when I asked (during two phone calls). They sent me a letter saying if I did not pay renewal payment by "XYZ date", policy would expire. I pointedly told them I didn't want the high $$ policy. Imagine MY surprise when I received a bill 2 months later for over $600!! Upon calling, they told me they decided to "do me a favor" and extend the policy beyond THEIR stated expiration date, and now I had to pay them! Threatened to put it on my credit report if I didn't pay!!
Don't auto renew and reinstate the…
Don't auto renew and reinstate the policy with double the cost. This would happen all the time and due to this I end up moving from non escrow to escrow. Now my mortgage lender charges 2.5 times the insurance because of geico not issuing the policy between the expired and the reinstated date
I deeply regret using them
I deeply, deeply regret bundling my home insurance to my Geico car insurance. We had a decent policy with no issues through a smaller, local agency. When I switched to Geico Home insurance, they subbed it out to Homesite. Within a month of switching, we got a letter in the mail that we had to fully replace the roof on our shed and fully replace the roof on our barn, as well as remove a "fence", or our policy would be cancelled. Mind you, our actual home was totally fine, but they are going to cancel the policy over moss on the shed roof and a decorative fence the previous owner used to enclose a garden. We had 60 days to do this. We still haven't decided what to do about the shed - it's in fine shape, but we either have to spend a ton of money on a roof for no reason, or get rid of the shed for no reason, or we'll lose our insurance. Switching was the worst homeowning decision I've made. Don't ever use them.
Scam alert scam alert boycott this place
So the policy started May 7th. June 1st I get a letter saying that in 4 weeks they will cancel my policy unless I get a full roof replacement. So I realized the scam of this place. they know that they have 60 days to cancel your policy for whatever reason. so they exist off of the unsuspecting people who sign up for them or have their mortgage pay. then they come up with a reason to cancel your policy. It's really a perfect scam. they exist off of initial sign up money and cancel your policy not caring if your mortgage lapses your coverage and penalizes you. The evil spirit within this company is disgusting. Do yourself a favor and don't you ever never ever ever do any business with them or anybody that's in cahoots with these dirt burglars. in particular Geico and Progressive are very demonic for aligning themselves with this god-awful alleged company.
Widow Veteran and run around
My husband passed away in October 2020. I had to pick up the bills and figure everything out. In 2021, Everything started to change over to my name. I had to renew the house insurance. At this point I had already notified the insurance because I had cancelled his car insurance which was bundled with the house insurance. So when I got the new house insurance in my name I thought everything was fine. Til it wasn't. I had two home insurances at the same time. Well I cancelled my deceased husbands (because I was the secondary on the account) and continued with my current account. I received a check in the mail in his name. Now being a widow I have learned that if you do not have a court document signed by the court stating that you are the executor of the deceased you cannot sign any checks that are to the deceased even if you are the spouse or next of kin. Anyways I called Homesite and told them this that they would send me a new check with me on it since i am the secondary. Never got it. few weeks later was told oh we can credit your new account and a new check will be cut to you in your new name. Never did. that was 2021. Same thing happened in 2022. Same song and dance. Got a check in his name. got told it would be a credit on my new account. will get a check in my name. Nothing. and then it happens all over again. Well its now 2023. I call and explain I need to talk to a manager. A girl name Heidi is like i can help explain it to me. ok...so i did. She looks in my file and sees the notes and says "oh yeah they escalated your file...we cant put that check on your new account because he has passed away" well no kidding i'm not asking for that. I am asking why i cannot have my name on the check? I am the secondary on the account. "Oh we only write it to the primary." ok i understand that but the primary is deceased. I am the secondary who is alive. So why cannot I have my name on the check?" "It is homesites regulations that we do not do the and/or on the check. We only write the checks to the primary." I understand that but in this case the primary has passed away and the secondary is alive. So explain to me why you cannot simply put and/or on the check? is there a rule book for homesite? if so please send it to me because i would love to know which page this rule is on. I have called countless times to talk to a manager. To be transferred to a number that never gets answered or to a number to be hung up on. They are unprofessional. I have spoken with representatives managers and spoken about this issue and asked how this would be handle and all companies have said they put the "and/or" on the check due to this type of circumstance if one passes away the other could handle the issue. It is pretty sad and disheartening that I have been with Homesite with Progressive since 2019 and now that my husband passed away this is how they treat not only widow/widowers but a military veteran. If you think I am going to just give up that easily you thought wrong. It's a shame you continue to hang up the phone, disconnect, and just cannot give an answer on the "why you cannot put an and/or" on a check when the primary has passed away. no one can give me an actual answer. I cannot wait to go find a different home insurance that actually cares about their customers instead of seeing them as walking dollar signs like this one. My words of advice run. and run fast from anyone insurance that has homesite as their home insurance. just run.
Our car insurance is through Geico and…
Our car insurance is through Geico and we switched our home insurance to Homesite because they are partners with Geico. It ended up being one of the worst decisions we made. We had major baseball size hail hit our roof and gutters. Cosmetics for damage dented gutters were not covered. The major damage to the roof was not covered. This has been a real nightmare of a company to work with. I definitely recommend to go somewhere else for home insurance. This company is not worth it!
Teaser rate company
Homesite provides teaser rates, then will increase your rates significantly in the following years. I started out at $1200/yr, then it went to $1700/yr last year and now they want $2999/yr. No claims have been filed, same coverage, and I pay on-time in full. Only signup with them if you like shopping for insurance every year!
I have a recent claim submitted…
I have a recent claim submitted 1/20/2022 that my claim adjuster Reid Bernard and his Supervisor Bradley Krogel have been diligent in not paying me the full amount that it's going to take to repair my place. I keep getting excuse after excuse from them although I have submitted repair estimates.
Also I do know that ALE coverage should not be factored into the Property Damage limit. And I would think that during the week time that my water mitigation documents were under their review that the reports would've identified that the water mitigation was for the bathroom as well. Mr. Krogel concluded that since bathroom wasn't listed on the invoice, that there was no water damage as for reason to deny payment for bathroom reconstruction. But the living room wasn't listed specifically on the invoice either but I was paid for it. Although the description listed on the invoice is water mitigation, how did he deduce it was just the living room? Furthermore the bathroom is the source of the water.
Service so bad that I couldn't even pay my bill
My experience with Homesite Insurance has been very negative. My main problem was trying to pay my bill! I kept getting billing and then when i tried to pay it said that the bill was being paid by my mortgage company escrow account. I never had an escrow account with my mortgage and never told them that I did. I clicked to remove the mortgage company, but they never did, even though I talked with them several times. I finally got another quote from reliable company and bought my insurance with them -- for $600 less annually!
I've had this company for almost a year…
I've had this company for almost a year now. I reached out to them via chat to ask for an email address to contact. I emailed that address over a month ago and have yet to receive a reply. It wasn't about a claim, it was just general questions about my policy. I need the information in writing, which is why I did not call. Why do I bother paying for insurance from a company when I don't even know if it will cover me if I need it?
Homesite is an inexpensive insurance…
Homesite is an inexpensive insurance company and it shows when you have a claim. They have complete indifference towards customers. You wait on hold for 20-30 minutes to speak to someone and they find creative ways not to pay a claim!
HORRIBLE AND CRUEL
What might you think of a company that - without notice and out of nowhere - abruptly drops the homeowners policy of a healthcare worker in the middle of a pandemic days before Christmas? Horrible? Cruel? What if I told you I never missed a payment, was never late on a payment, never filed a claim, and never got notice from the company, but rather from my mortgage lender, who is now charging me a DAILY fine until I get our home on another policy. I had a Homesite policy through GEICO. I have been a GEICO customer for over 10 years. Homesite claims that there are outstanding repairs needed to be made to my home to reinstate my policy and sent me pictures that are over two years old (you can clearly see the For Sale sign still in the front yard in the pictures) and told me they require copy's of repair bills from licensed contractors I am suppose to hire (which I cannot afford to do) for "damage" only Homesite claims to exist via THEIR inspectors that THEY PAY. This company acts in bad faith and I am forced to find another company to insure my home. I'll be dropping ALL of my GEICO policies (sad to say) and I have filed a complaint to my state's attorney general's office. Homesite could care less about you, about your family, about human beings. They send their own inspectors, make their own bogus claims, you have zero ability to appeal, they will not allow you to get a second opinion or have an inspector of your choice inspect the home, and they won't even arrange appointments for you to be present while their inspectors are at your home. I pray that no one at this company gets sick and expects a healthcare worker to help them when they are in need of help. The difference is that we would help no matter what, whether they deserve it or not, because we live up to our promises to help our communities. Homesite is a garbage company, avoid at all costs. Homesite is horrible and cruel.
