The workshop leader was knowledgeable and made the battle part extremely fun for the children. He was clear in the work the teachers had to deliver throughout the day and the slides were easy to follow.

Rob was such an amazing workshop leader with a fantastic wealth of knowledge about the Romans. He was able to keep all of the children engaged and desperate to know more about Roman times. The activities were hands on and informative, all children had an fabulous time! Thank you so much for your dedication, knowledge and time.

The children enjoyed all of the planned activities - but they were also delivered with great gusto on the battle-side by Mally! The day was a great success and the battle tactics session was the jewel in the crown.

Great day exploring The Great Fire of London with Gareth from Historic Workshop. We spent the morning look at some real artifacts and drawing them. Then we moved on to smelling and making Pamanda's. The children really enjoyed this activity and the classroom smells wonderful today!! We then make Fire Marks after lunch. We made them out of clay and we all understand why houses had them at the front. We finished the day with designing our own New London!! The children were fully engaged for the whole day! Thankyou to Samuel Pepys (Gareth) for a very informative day.

Our Workshop leader David was fantastic! He immersed the children in the history of the Stone Age! I was so impressed by his knowledge and the way he was able to make historical concepts engaging and fun for the children! The whole workshop was so interactive and my class enjoyed themselves thoroughly, I know they will remember the experience and their learning will stay with them! David was organised, professional and above all it was clear to see his passion for the subject which he passed onto the children!

Rob visited our school to deliver a Viking workshop with our Y6 pupils. It was an excellent day from start to finish with engaging activities which held the children’s attention all day. A fantastic hands on workshop which enhanced the children’s knowledge, understanding and enjoyment of the Viking era. Thank you Rob!

On Tuesday 2nd October, Sergeant Robert visited our Year 6 class at Hawkesley Church Primary Academy to deliver a WW1 workshop, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish.

He arrived promptly and professionally, taking the time to set up carefully, liaise with the class teacher, and ensure everything was ready before beginning. His knowledge of WW1 was truly remarkable – the depth of detail he shared, combined with his ability to explain it in an engaging and age-appropriate way, kept the children fully captivated throughout the day.

The workshop struck a perfect balance between active, hands-on learning and thoughtful, discussion-based activities. The authentic artefacts were a particular highlight, helping the children to visualise and understand what life was really like during WW1 in a way that books alone simply cannot achieve.

Robert’s commitment to the workshop was exceptional. Staying fully in character, he commanded the children’s attention effortlessly while also managing behaviour with respect and authority. His enthusiasm and energy made the day not only educational but genuinely memorable.

We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to take part in such a high-quality workshop. It was an enriching, inspiring, and thoroughly enjoyable experience for both pupils and staff – highly recommended!

David was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. He was well prepared and all the artefacts were interesting. The children were engaged with all the activities. The ‘teacher-led’ activities were easy to get on with and didn’t require much setting up.

Gareth (aka Owl) created a fantastic experience for our children. They absolute loved every minute and learnt so much. Highly recommend.

The day was amazing from beginning to the end. The children loved it and were all engaged all day. The day was well organised and a great learning experience for all the children and they particularly enjoyed the battle formation session. I would highly recommend this company

David visited our school to do an Ancient Egyptian workshop with our Year 4 pupils. He was absolutely fantastic and so, so knowledgeable. Every activity the children did was so engaging and fun - they learnt so much. Thank you for such an amazing visit.

Amazing Anglo Saxon workshop- being a lead humanities teacher in an Autism school booking things can be a minefield. I can not recommend Rob and this company enough. They catered for 32 autistic 11-13 year olds seamlessly. The communication was second to none before and during the day, not just re logistics but learning objectives and workshop content. Things were adapted where needed to ensure both engagement and motivation was high. The kids enjoyed soo many differing activities, got into Rob and his Anglo Saxon role and got so much from it and still talk about it a few weeks on.

The Stone Age workshop was engaging and provided the children with a valuable learning experience. The resources were lovely and really helped bring the topic to life, which the children thoroughly enjoyed.

There were, however, some aspects that could be developed further. The session felt quite heavy on teacher-led activities, and at times there was some ‘dead time’ where we needed to fill in ourselves as the activities seemed a little short. It might also work better if there were two leaders – one for each class – rather than a single person managing both groups, as this would help maintain pace and engagement.

Additionally, at points it felt as though the leader became frustrated with the children’s natural excitement, which did affect the overall atmosphere. A slightly more flexible approach might help to channel that enthusiasm more positively.

Overall, though, the children enjoyed the workshop and gained a lot from it, and with a few adjustments it could be even more impactful.

Great activities, great resources and friendly and knowledgeable host. The children had a great day. We really liked the Egyptian games and building an Egyptian city workshops.

A BRILLIANT WW2 workshop delivered by Rob. His passion and knowledge come across so strongly the children cannot help but be engaged. We love the resources and activities. Third year booking this workshop and will be doing it again next year! Thank you!

Great range of activities - kids learnt loads and were completely engaged. Was really helpful too as the workshop leader knew plenty more about the Maya than myself!! Would definitely recommend and kids also created things they could take home with them too.
