The children thoroughly enjoyed every WWII activity - from the artefact investigation to first aid to the water activity. Gareth was so knowledgeable and it was wonderful to see him imparting all his wisdom in such a child friendly manner. We will definitely be inviting Gareth back to our school! Thank you again for an engaging and fun-filled day!

Gareth ran the workshop and was very knowledgeable and the children responded well to his teaching. He was inclusive and fun and kept to the schedule well. He supported the teachers well. Highly recommend. We will be booking next year.

The children and adults at Fynamore had a fantastic day with King Henry VIII (of Rochford)!! The day was packed with a wide range of engaging activities across both the morning and afternoon sessions, keeping everyone interested throughout. Every activity was inclusive meeting the needs of our children, making sure everyone could take part. The archery session was a particular highlight and was thoroughly enjoyed by the children. It was a memorable and enriching day for all those involved. Thank you!

Great day! Jess, our Roman historian, was very knowledgeable and was brilliant with the children. The Roman soldier part of the day was really fun, brought our classroom learning to life. I will recommend the company to other members of staff.

We booked the Egyptian day. There were lots of resources and the workshop leader was very prepared. The children had a lovely day. Thanks for coming! We will look into other workshops for our other year groups.

Tori was amazing! She was really knowledgeable and made the day fun and informative for all the children. Our Y2's were fully engaged all day and haven't stopped talking about it.

The children had a fantastic day. Jess kept them engaged all day and got them really excited for their Anglo-saxon topic. When I asked the children what their favourite part was they pretty much said everything! They loved the Witan and making decisions, they loved the board games and lots of the boys loved the battle especially the sheild wall. I would highly recommend this workshop and Jess was brilliant, thank you!

If I could give 7 stars I would. A fantastic day lead by a highly experienced, fun and engaging leader (Cassius the Centurion). We booked this day to add something of the Romans to our year 7 class camping trip (we have studied Romans this year) and the setting of the camping field definitely gave an extra dimension to our soldiering activities. A rich program of activities was offered: learning about life in the Roman army, digging for artefacts, writing Roman script on papyrus, and re-enacting the battle of Medway (Romans vs Britons). We ended the day playing Roman board games which the students loved and we have been inspired to make some of our own in our woodwork lessons. A massive thank you to all the team at Historic Workshops who made this all possible and managed our complexities as a school with skill and grace. We will definitely be doing more! If you’re wondering whether it’s worth it - it is !

Rob was an amazing lead on our recent WW2 workshop, he had the children and teachers captivated with his extensive knowledge and enthusiasm for the subject. The activities were brilliantly pitched for the Year 6 children who loved the hands on ARP activity where they became Air Raid Patrols putting out 'incendiary bombs', learnt how to bandage the injured and the era was really brought to life with the vast array of artefacts from the WW2 period. Thank you so much, the children were engaged from start to finish and this has brought to life their history, inspiring them to continue their learning. We will definitely be booking this workshop again.

David had excellent energy from the get go and hooked the children into the gruesome world of crime and punishment. He clued into their interests and drove the session focus based on what the children wanted- while still delivering the workshop content. It was engaging and interesting and the children left with further questions to explore in their history lessons. The witch hunt was an impressive game which got the children hooked! We have booked again and looking forward to it!

Thank you for providing a lovely workshop. Bethany was a great workshop leader and played the role of Elizabeth I very well! We originally booked the Tudor workshop but they were very accommodating and made it Elizabethan aswell for us to fit our curriculum!

The kids had an amazing time and definitely embedded their learning on Elizabethan and Tudors with a memorable experience. This is the second workshop we have had from you and it was just as good as the first. The other teachers have also noticed and commented on how great the day was. We had a great history workshop with David about Kings and Queens. The children loved every part of the day and they were always engaged. David was a fantastic lead and the children loved him as Henry VIII. All the activities were engaging and exciting for the children. Thank you very much!

Our children loved the WW2 workshop that Rob did for our school. Children were engaged, tasks were practical and you could clearly see that his subject knowledge was high. We would definitely book with this company again. Booking process good. Good value for money.

As usual an excellent day with Rob for our Anglo Saxon workshop. From the resources, the knowledge, the fun activities, the children had a fantastic day. They learnt lots and were able to use it to compare to other civilisations we had learnt about.

We had a Roman workshop with Rob which was great and really engaging. He was very knowledgable and engaged the children throughout the day and took the time to answer any questions that the staff had too. The children are really excited for our Romans unit now and what they have learnt from the day is a great base for us to add onto in school.

We were lucky enough to have Jess with us for our Ancient Greek Day. She was so knowledgeable and could pass on her expertise in an age appropriate and highly engaging way. The children and staff had a fabulous day and we would highly recommend Jess and Historic Workshops.

Our Ancient Greece workshop was fantastic. The children were really engaged during the battle tactics part of the day. They loved playing the Ancient Greek games and enjoyed the challenge of writing in Ancient Greek and debating the correct course of action for their city state. A great way to kick-start our history topic for the half term.

We had a Maya workshop with David for the first time at our school recently. It was such a well-organised great day and the children going home with so much new knowledge. They loved how practical the learning was and it was pitched well for our Year 6's which is sometimes a hard thing to do! David was so engaging in all of his talks and was accommodating to quick changes. Already looking to book again- thank you :)

We had an excellent day with Rob learning about the Norman invasion. The resources he brought were fantastic and the range of activities kept the children engaged all day. The timetable of the day was especially impressive as it was personally tailored to our school’s daily timetable and setup. We would definitely recommend him!
