Absolutely Brilliant Day
Our tour guide Terri was fantastic, so much cultural and historical information, the comfort breaks were ample and timings spot on. Loch Ness was wonderful and the cruise interesting. Well worth the price.
Having already done a 5 day Highland tour the week before, which didn’t include Loch Ness, am so glad I took this day trip from Edinburgh and learnt more from Terri in one day than the whole 5 days tour.

It is a long trip, and it is well worth the time. In 12 hrs I leaned a lot about highland, saw amazing sights, and feel more ready for a second trip to some of the small towns we learned about along
The knowledge, humor, and personality of the tour guide Charlie, and the experience and personality of Brody the Coach driver. Gave my family and I a wonderful insight to the history and culture of Scotland.

Nice tour
Nice tour, confortable bus, does the expected stops for most iconic places. A bit of a rush, but worth the day off Edinburgh to see the highlands
Positive: the stops, the crew (Terry & Neil), the food (highland chocolate), the bus
To improve: (1) the shops look all the same, a bit too “tourist focus” for me. It I guess it may be difficult to get normal shops to accommodate a bus of 50 tourists.
(2) the hairy cows :-). Seeing 3 of them in a field is a bit disappointing

Lots of off topic talking
Some great sites visited on this ride but the guided tour involved lots and lots of off topic talking which made it hard to enjoy the experience. Our driver, Paul S, served as both driver and tour guide. I’m not sure why there wasn’t a designated tour guide for our journey. Apart from a few short stretches of music, Paul S talked for several hours. He shared some Scotland history but also talked extensively about his personal life, he mentioned his girlfriend Lisa several times, he talked about his step-father, his own personal drinking habits, and told stories about driving with his daughter. He also described the full details of a dream he had where he crashed the tour bus. He went on to talk about how his partner is into witchcraft and continued with details about politics, Logan Paul, Netflix documentaries and skateboarding. All this to say I learned more about Paul S on the tour than about Scotland’s history. He was an excellent driver and was very passionate about his job but in my preference there was too talking during our 13 hour day.

Amazing!
We booked a five day trip to the Isle of Skye and everything in between.
It was an amazing trip!
We have been with Highland Experience Tours before and again it was amazing.
We saw different things every time and our Driver Graham was awesome. So interesting information he shared and he is so thoughtful and nice.
Unfortunately I got a severe back pain and Graham did everything to help me. Even got me to the emergency room at the Isle of Skye. That’s how is managed to resume our trip otherwise I would have gone home.

The tour was a great experience…
The tour was a great experience overall. It is an excellent way to get a first impression. Rose was an excellent guide. She catered to personal needs as much as possible and gave good tips on restaurants and tips for walks, supermarkets etc. Rose adjusted the route slightly to avoid larger buses and therefore crowds. We still managed to see all the highlights of the Highlands.
Rose has an impressive knowledge of Scottish history and folklore. She is a storyteller. Many thanks for the great

Just returned from the 5 day ultimate…
Just returned from the 5 day ultimate Scottish Highlands tour run by Highland Experience. It was absolutely the best! Our driver/guide - Iain - was awesome ! So knowledgeable, made it all so much fun and was the best tour I have been on in many years. The itinerary and stops were all fantastic, with incredible stories and information timed just perfectly before arrival at each stop. Iain is a very proud born and bred Scot, who was so happy and excited to be showing us his beloved Scotland including many stories of his family trips at many of the locations! Also, staff in office are also amazing - go above and beyond in communication, assistance and even assisted me with a passport issue (I left it behind in Inverness and didn’t realise for 2 days. The office organised one of their tour drivers to pick it up and bring it back to Edinburgh for me!) cannot speak highly enough of the whole organisation! I’ll be back and would recommend this company to everyone !

TOUR COMPLETAMENTE DIVERSO
Io e due miei amici abbiamo prenotato un tour di 4 giorni nelle Highlands/isola di Skye tramite GET YOUR GUIDE (il quale si appoggia al provider scozzese Highland experience) che prometteva tappe ben precise sia per quanto riguarda i luoghi di ristorazione sia per i luoghi prettamente panoramici. La guida (il signor Ian) ha ridimensionato tutto il tour a suo piacimento, rimpiazzando quasi sempre le soste prandiali programmate (come l’incantevole Portree) con stazioni di servizio nel mezzo del niente. Per dirne una, ha avuto la brillante idea di portarci a visitare le “fairy pools” al posto del sud dell’isola di Skye (come invece programmato) -a detta sua perché il tempo lo permetteva- sottoponendoci tutti ad una camminata sotto un diluvio gelato: subito dopo l’autobus, infatti, è diventato un accampamento nomadi con vestiti stesi ovunque sopra i sedili e persone scalze. In tutto ciò, solamente l’ultimo giorno la guida si è attenuta alle tappe stabilite dal tour; badate bene non per sua spontanea volontà ma dopo averglielo fatto notare: Ian, infatti, ha tentato di troncare le nostre proteste sostenendo che il tour offerto da Highland experience (il provider locale) fosse diverso in termini di tappe da quello offerto da Get Your Guide (cosa ASSOLUTAMENTE NON VERA e chiunque può verificare sui due siti web).
Come se tutto ciò non bastasse, il tour prenotato tramite “get your guide” prevedeva le colazioni incluse le quali sono risultate scadenti (letteralmente) e imbarazzanti (sia per quanto riguarda gli alimenti offerti sia per quanto riguarda le stoviglie messe a disposizione). A concludere questa serie di sfortunati eventi si è aggiunto il servizio clienti di Get Your Guide i quali, dopo aver presentato loro le nostre rimostranze e anche foto che provavano la fondatezza delle nostre lamentele, si sono limitati a delle scuse e ad un misuro rimborso economico di 20€ per le colazioni (cifra che sfido chiunque a non superare per 4 colazioni nelle Highlands), ignorando tutte le nostre altre proteste.
In conclusione abbiamo avuto un’esperienza TOTALMENTE NEGATIVA che sconsigliamo a chiunque. Evitate sia di Highland experience sia di Get Your Guide!!!

As we communicated with you at the time, we discussed your feedback with our driver-guide.
There were some changes made to the itinerary due to weather, business of certain locations and a late running ferry. Your guide confirmed you stopped in the following locations for lunches.
Day 1: Fort Augustus https://www.visitscotland.com/info/towns-villages/fort-augustus-p236671 This is a beautiful, touristic spot at the south end of Loch Ness – there are many options for lunch here. This is where is mentioned in the itinerary.
Day 2: Uig, Isle of Skye. https://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/skye/uig/index.html Usually we would stop at Portree for lunch on day 2, however, there was a cruise ship in the town, meaning it was incredibly busy and so would be difficult for everyone to get lunch here. Uig is a small village in a stunning location, with a number of places to eat at. This was explained to the group, it was not done without reason, as the clients state.
Day 3: Broadford, Isle of Skye https://www.visitscotland.com/info/towns-villages/broadford-p236301 dominated by the Cuillin Mountains, this is another scenic spot. On this day the ferry from Armadale to Mallaig was delayed by Calmac (the ferry company). Rather than not eating, as the ferry would get the Mallaig later than a normal lunch time. Iain chose another option, with various places to eat. This was also explained to the group.
Day 4: Callandar - https://www.visitscotland.com/info/towns-villages/callander-p235441 the gateway to the highlands – another pretty town full of many options for lunch, as described in our itinerary.
At no stop would the only option be a gas station, if the clients chose to visit a gas station this would be been their choice, but it would never be the only option. Iain has confirmed he always points out the options in each stop for food, allowing guests to make their own choice where to eat. He also allows people to grab something quick and take it on the bus, if they would prefer to explore the location they are in as many are popular locations to explore.
On the 3rd day – Iain visited the Fairy Pools – a very popular location – I’m sorry the clients were unhappy with this stop. They also visited Armadale and Armadale Castle, before getting the ferry from Armadale to Mallaig. There was extra time, due to the later ferry departure I previously mentioned and Iain would have explained during the trip. It is not our fault they were unprepared for wet weather. We advise everyone prepare for rain and sun as this is Scotland! We have famously changeable weather. https://www.scotland.org/about-scotland/weather
We estimated the cost for breakfast, based on a full cooked breakfast in Scotland (£20 per day). As we advised at the time, if the guests could advise where they went for breakfast and how much was spent, we would be happy to cover the cost of this.

USE THIS TOUR COMPANY
We did a custom/private 5 day tour with Jamie, and we had an amazing time. Our group consisted of 6 adults and 4 teens, and every single one of us loved the tour and our guide.
From the start, my communications with Fraser gave me a good feeling about this company. He was quick to respond, answered my questions thoroughly, and did a great job in helping to create a perfect itinerary for our group.
Once we were in Edinburgh and got picked up by Jamie for our tour, that's when the real fun began. I won't mention the sights, because we all know how beautiful Scotland is, but Jamie's helpfulness, willingness to customize the itinerary as we went, and stories helped to make this trip super memorable. We had baggage delay issues, so he was willing to make stops to go shopping, even driving me to laundry machines early one morning well before our scheduled meeting time. There is so much more I can say, but I'll just leave it this- this tour company and our tour guide were amazing, and I wouldn't mind going back!
Thank you to the Highland Experience team for making our trip awesome. We will never forget it!!!
And am I allowed to say this in the review? Chris is a loser :) (He's another tour guide with this company, and I'm sure he isn't actually a loser, but we had fun going back and forth with it whenever we saw him!)

Bus safety standards…
I must express my serious concerns about the safety standards of the bus used for our trip. Throughout the journey, there were unsettling signs that raised doubts about the bus's reliability and maintenance. When the bus braked, it made strange noises, causing worry about the braking system's condition. Additionally, the engine kept going off intermittently, adding to the overall unease during the trip.
The combination of these unsettling issues made the entire journey feel frightening and put the safety of all passengers at risk. Trust in the vehicle's reliability is essential for any travel experience, and Highland Experience should urgently address these mechanical problems to ensure passenger safety and peace of mind. Until these issues are resolved, I cannot recommend this service to anyone concerned about their well-being while traveling.

Hi there,
Our check-in time is 7:45am for the tour, and the bus leaves at 8:00am. You arrived late, and since our driver-guide could not hold up the tour for the rest of the passengers to wait for latecomers, you missed the tour.
When you first called us, you yelled at our sales agent to demand for the address of the first stop so you could get there by taxi, our sales agent politely told you that she could not give an exact address and time without confirming with our driver-guide. The sales agent tried to call the driver-guide for you, but she could not pick up the phone, as she was driving and it would be illegal. The sales agent explained this to you and that she would get back to you as soon as she had heard from the driver-guide, and you replied by verbally harassing the sales agent even though she was trying to help you. After the driver-guide got back to us what time and where you could meet the tour, we immediately informed you. You replied with some more verbal abuse and eventually agreed to meet the tour there.
After you met the driver-guide on tour, you continuously yelled at her on the bus throughout the day. We were also notified that you were very disinterested in Skye itself and refused to leave the bus to see the Fairy Pools, one of the main attractions of the tour.
You then informed the driver-guide that you had a train ticket that evening and demanded the tour be cut short for everyone so you could make your train. We do not advise for anyone to travel on the same day of the tour as we cannot guarantee the exact return time due to traffic and unforeseen circumstances. You then decided to spam our social media sites with profanities, posting over 50 comments and 10+ reviews which we have now reported as harassment. We have received no other complaints or negative feedback about this tour.

Our experience with the driver
Our experience with the driver, Amanda was the worst we've ever had in our life. Despite agreeing to meet at eight, Amanda left without us, and when we try to catch them and called the company, at 8 sharp, the lack of communication was terrible. Lacking any help.
When we finally managed to catch up, Amanda's attitude was unprofessional and extremely disrespectful. She yelled at us instead, and when we told her that we had to arrive at the time stablished in the itinerary she yelled to one of my friends (who was pregnant) telling her that she was not going to do it, and she was glad we were having a terrible day. My pregnant friend cried uncontrollably due to that lack of respect.
Furthermore, her handling of the vehicle was highly irresponsible. On two occasions, Amanda was distracted with her microphone, nearly causing collisions with other vehicles. Her disregard for our safety was a stressful and terrifying experience
Such behavior is unacceptable, especially from someone in a position of responsibility.

Hi there,
Our check-in time is 7:45am for the tour, and the bus leaves at 8:00am. You arrived late, and since our driver-guide could not hold up the tour for the rest of the passengers to wait for latecomers, you missed the tour.
When you first called us, you yelled at our sales agent to demand for the address of the first stop so you could get there by taxi, our sales agent politely told you that she could not give an exact address and time without confirming with our driver-guide. The sales agent tried to call the driver-guide for you, but she could not pick up the phone, as she was driving and it would be illegal. The sales agent explained this to you and that she would get back to you as soon as she had heard from the driver-guide, and you replied by verbally harassing the sales agent even though she was trying to help you. After the driver-guide got back to us what time and where you could meet the tour, we immediately informed you. You replied with some more verbal abuse and eventually agreed to meet the tour there.
After you met the driver-guide on tour, you continuously yelled at her on the bus throughout the day. We were also notified that you were very disinterested in Skye itself and refused to leave the bus to see the Fairy Pools, one of the main attractions of the tour.
You then informed the driver-guide that you had a train ticket that evening and demanded the tour be cut short for everyone so you could make your train. We do not advise for anyone to travel on the same day of the tour as we cannot guarantee the exact return time due to traffic and unforeseen circumstances. I want to share a disappointing…
I want to share a disappointing experience concerning the driver, Amanda, and her lack of consideration for elderly passengers. My grandpa, who is over 80 and has reduced mobility, faced a challenging situation when trying to board the bus. Despite his difficulties, Amanda didn't show any empathy or willingness to help him get on the bus. Instead, she refused to wait for him, leaving him struggling to board on his own.
This lack of compassion and assistance for elderly passengers was disheartening and reflects poorly on the company's commitment to customer care. I can't recommend this service to seniors or elderly people, as it could lead to uncomfortable and potentially unsafe situations. Highland Experience should prioritize better training for their drivers to ensure the comfort and well-being of all passengers, regardless of their age or mobility.
