We had Peach for our guide. She was fantastic. She did not give us the usual summing up of boring facts which you forget about within a minute, but told us really interesting facts about a.o. Nessie and the Skye bridge - really useful information. Also a lot of other funny stories. The only drawback was that her stories were so interesting that you sometimes forgot to look at the impressive countryside!
Just a suggestion; being an Oldie of 81, I love the Corries; they really deserve the title of " Kings of the traditional Scottish folk music". It would be nice if their music were played during the trip!

We went on the 4 day tour to Skye with Hugh as our driver/guide. Exceptional tour, Hugh had the flexibility to take us to extra places he knew. Accommodation was excellent. We saw so much more than we could have hoped for. We couldn’t have done it on our own. And we were so lucky to be on Hugh’s tour. Such great knowledge, an interesting story of his own, and treated us several times to his talent as a piper.

Together with my 14-year-old granddaughter I was on the 5-days-tour through Scotland from 25 may to 29 may 2026. Bpth of us, we liked the tour very much.

But I would suggest to shorten the Skye-day a bit, extend the time spent in Inverness and organize a farewell evening for the group in one of the Inverness restaurants.

I want especially say thank you to Craig, our tour guide and bus driver. He always drove carefully, but not too slow; he helped everybody with their luggage; he was great in finding parking places in all these busy towns; he was humorous; he spoke a wonderful Scottish dialect; he informed us about the Scottish history, and last but not least, he danced Scottish Highland dances with me, what obviously did not belong to his duties.

So, once again, thanks to Craig and to Highland Experience!

I took the 1-Day Loch Ness, Glen Coe & the Highlands Tour with Highland Experience Tours in May 2026 (Booking #336920186), and it was an exceptional and one of the most memorable travel experiences I've had.

Our guides, Chris and Lorraine, are the rare kind who make a place feel alive — not just scenic. They go far beyond facts and timelines, weaving in local history, cultural context, and personal insight that most tourists never get to hear. Their knowledge is deep, their passion is obvious, and their humor keeps the energy warm and easy throughout the day. Between narrations, soft background music adds a subtle but lovely touch to the atmosphere. The day flows effortlessly.

They have a real gift for connecting small details to the bigger story of the region, which made the tour feel thoughtful and immersive. Additionally, it felt less like a scripted presentation and more like a conversation with someone who truly understands the history, people, and character of the place. You leave not just having seen something beautiful, but having understood it.

Guides like Chris and Lorraine don't just show you a place — they give it meaning.
This isn't sightseeing — it's the Highlands brought to life. Thoughtful, and meaningful tour. Highly recommend.

It was my first time in my life to join a group tour. It was very well made and made our holiday very special.

As the booking was made in advance, I was worried about the weather but it was good in the sense that it rained when we were on our way but stopped at the attractions.

Overall, it was very very good. Well organised, comfortable coach and excellent guide.

Just home from a wonderful two day Outlander tour with Highland Experience Tours. I wasn't sure how we'd be able to fit everything on the itinerary in, but we did, and some! We were well looked after by our guide/driver, Craig, who clearly enjoys meeting new people and showing them the beautiful Highlands of Scotland. He really made the trip for us, sharing interesting anecdotes and local history with a twinkle in his eye and a sprinkle of humour, but also knowing when to allow us to just sit back and let the breathtaking surroundings speak for themselves. We felt very safe in his hands as he navigated the winding roads of Scotland.

After a jam packed day one, "Castles, Highland Landscapes and Loch Ness", with an impromptu stop to meet some Highland Coos, we were dropped at our Inverness home for the night, Oakvilla Guest House, where we were warmly welcomed by owners Elizabeth and Douglas. A wee stroll around Inverness and an evening meal, with a chance to reflect on the day. A highlight for me was getting to see Midhope Castle, aka "Lallybroch", which had been on my bucket list for a while!

Day two, "Standing stones, battlefields and Outlander villages" got off to a great start, with a fabulous Scottish breakfast, home cooked by Elizabeth. My sister and I had great fun at our first stop, Clava Cairns, where we were desperately trying all of the stones for their time travel potential, but alas, we stayed in 2026! Another highlight for me from day 2 was the visit to picturesque Falkland, where we saw some more recognisable spots from the show.

Some feedback for the tour organisers, many of us would have preferred less time at the Scotland Folk Museum (which is lovely!) and more time at the last stop of the trip, Culross, as sadly we arrived just too late to go inside Culross Palace, where we could have seen some more Outlander filming sites. It felt like we had longer than we needed at the Folk Museum and cutting that short a bit might have meant fitting in a bit more at Culross - something to consider for future tours maybe?

That being said, we still had a thoroughly enjoyable couple of days, which left us planning our next trip. It's hard to pick a favourite part of the 2 days, as I enjoyed each and every stop for different reasons, and would highly recommend it to folks who enjoy the show, and even if you've never seen Outlander, you'll still get to enjoy the breathtaking views! With only a few more episodes of Outlander, dinnae fash Sassenach, what if your future, was the past? Je suis prest!

The guide was fantastic but unfortunately, because of the long distance between each stop, we have spent a lot of time on the Van.
The accomodations in Inverness are not so good... We found the room quite dirty.
Apart from that everything was Ok.

We did this tour and had an excellent experience — highly recommended.

Our guide, Alan, was tireless throughout the entire journey. He showed great knowledge and experience, sharing information clearly and always at the right moment, aligned with the places we were visiting. The balance between historical facts and local legends made the experience even more engaging and enjoyable.

The tour started on time and was very well organized. The group also respected the schedule, which helped everything run smoothly.

The bus was comfortable and, although it didn’t have a bathroom, this was not an issue as there were enough stops along the way.

Just a small note: due to the duration, it may not be the best option for young children.

For anyone interested in history and exploring rural areas, this is definitely a worthwhile experience. The price is fair for the quality and itinerary offered.

We enjoyed every moment of our 3-day Sky& Inverness tour with Hugh, the Piping Tour Guide. An end-of-March weather with sunshine, wind, rain and snow, together with Hugh's stories and piping (!), added even more drama to the already magnificent Highlands. The trip was well organized. Timing for stops and lunches was perfect - it seemed that even rain was managed! The accommodations in Inverness, Moyness House - great experience as well.

This was my second tour with this company ( I had already toured with them last August).
It absolutely met my expectations. Punctuality when departing, and just 10 minutes of delay when arriving (traffic issues). The guide, Aiden, made the experience the most enjoyable, knowing how to balance music, silence and narration, with a slight touch of humour from time to time. He even "presented" us with a couple of extra stops.
Enough time to enjoy each and every stop, without being constantly in a hurry.
I definitely recommend it.

3 day highlands and Skye tour
The experience matched the tour itinerary and we had ample opportunity and time to explore all the sites visited. The tour guide Jamie was knowledgeable and had lots of historic information and stories to bring the sites visited to life. The coach was clean and comfortable and the overnight accommodation was amazing. I stayed in a B&B which I recommend as you get a personalised experience rather than staying in a hotel. If you want to see all the main sites and get a true feel for the highlands and Skye then this is a must do trip.

Yesterday we went on a tour from Edinburgh: Glenfinnan Viaduct, Hairy Coos & The Highlands. We had Moray as our tourguide! He was really lovely and funny! As well as his great outfit, he knew loads of facts, had brilliant taste in music and had us laughing a lot. The tour itself was also great! Especially the Glenfinnan Viaduct & the scenery at Glen Coe was a-ma-zing. The stop at the Hairy Coo’s was a little bit disappointing, as there were 3 hairy coos behind a fence with a LOT of tourist around them :(. But, all in all it was a great day, we would recommend it!

Super tolle Tour. Steven B , unser Guide, war sehr nett und lustig. Er hat viel über das Land, die Leute und vor allen Dingen über die Geschichte Schottlands erzählt. Auch zu den einzelnen Stopps und für unsere Planung hat er gesorgt. Immer wieder gern.

The Highlands are always a magical place, to me it means home and I was amazed by everything we saw. Glencoe is the place of a terrible massacre, consumed in a place so mesmerising that it's easy to lose yourself. I loved seeing the statue dedicated to Bonnie Prince Charlie, and getting on top of the small tower was incredibly fun. As a student and lover of history I enjoyed it greatly. Scotland is my second home, and it was great to be back.
What I didn't enjoy much was how little time we had to roam around, especially at Fort William, where we didn't have time for lunch and many people chose a McDonald's over the many local pubs. I already knew the pub and decided to have a quick lunch there, the meeting was at 13:25, I arrived at 13:28 and the people on the bus even clapped sarcastically over 2 minutes. The driver was very knowledgeable, but not very friendly.

That was a wonderful trip with Terri and Ben. For the first time I listened to the guides :) - they were funny and helpful. I recommend the company.

It was fab. Chris (our guide) was knowledgeable throughout. I wanted to go to McQueen's grave site in Skye. It wasn't on the plan, but chris made it happen!. Weather was 👌, I'd highly recommend this tour and company!. I forgot to mention the B & B.....it was lovely, the room was so clean and the breakfast was 👌

Our 3 days and 2 nights trip with Highland Experience was an excellent way to explore Scotland, especially the beautiful Highlands. The tour was well-organized, comfortable, and thoughtfully planned, allowing us to enjoy the scenery, culture, and history without any stress.

Our tour leader and driver, Graham, added great value to the experience by sharing stories and historical background along the way. Even though his Scottish accent was sometimes challenging to understand, we really enjoyed it—it felt authentic and made the journey more memorable. He was also very caring and attentive, always making sure we were safely picked up and dropped off at our accommodation.

We highly recommend Highland Experience to anyone who wants to truly explore Scotland in a convenient, informative, and enjoyable way.
