Excellent, smooth property transaction yet again from the Conveyancing Team @ Hethertons. I’ll be back for our next purchase!

Bought a house with Hethertons (Nicola) acting as the solicitors for the seller! Goodness me, I have never dealt with such an incompetent person in my life. Dropped the ball many times and the communication was shocking thus taking way to long for a two house chain to complete! Even on day of completion she didn’t let the estate agent know I could collect the keys for 3 hours after completion.
I would avoid at all costs.

Avoid at all costs. Hethertons should not be allowed to practice. I filled out their dreadful Word-based forms and sent the required documentation - they didn’t even download the material. They waited so long the download link expired. All complaints are just ignored. I switched to another firm (vastly superior) over two months ago, but Hethertons still haven’t returned the unused payment on account. Who would have thought you couldn’t trust a solicitors’ with your money?

They are incompetent on every level and in no way do they deliver according to either their advertised standards or the quality standards of the CQS. Their incompetence is compounded by the complete disregard for customer complaints presumably because they target a high-volume, low-quality service.

Do not gamble on trusting these guys.

We have just sold a house using hethertons. Leanne was our solicitor, she was friendly, informative and above all helpful.
Leanne dealt with the whole transaction quickly and kept us posted at every step. I would highly recommend and definitely use again.

Should not be practicing, had to go to the Legal ombudsman about them, who upheld 4 very serious points about them. We are in a worse situation now then when we instructed them 3 years ago. Very scary how bad this so called legal firm is.

Absolutely first class service from Elaine Copley and Leanne Dalby at Hethertons (York) for both the purchase of a cottage near Whitby, and then dealing with the sale of my property in York. Excellent communication, explanations of stages of progress, and every effort to complete both my purchase and sale within a limited time frame. First class. Five stars. Faultless. Highly impressed.

Aloof, big-ish firm not interested in supporting the individual. Used them for Wills and Power of Attorney - reasonable service, although some letters were going to out of date addresses - but very expensive. Also used them for some issues with garden boundary - a different employee, providing negligible support and information. Arrogant, dismissive, and still charged well over £400 for 4 calls and a letter, telling me mostly what I had told them. Completed their Customer Assessment Form - no response, just chased the money. NOT recommended!
