This is a great ground school for visual learners. The interactive format is very helpful. The only complaint I have is that I wish it went more in depth at times. Overall a solid ground school.

I tried racking my brain for any suggestions but from my perspective, they did everything one would expect for a ground school to supplement actual flight lessons. Perhaps some topics could have been expounded more but this is more a reflection of my own experiences with particular topics, like different types of altitudes or FAR stuff.

After using a different platform for private and instrument, I decided to give Gold Seal a go for commercial. Kinda wished I used Gold Seal from the start of my training. The way the content was delivered and the visuals was perfect for my style of learning. I would highly recommend Gold Seal for your ground school needs. Something that was above and beyond for me, Mr. Still is accessible and responds within a reasonable amount of time. Looking forward to more offerings.

Gold Seal was perfect for me because I often start and stop my studying as I get busy with my job and other life events. Gold seal holds my place and lets me pick up exactly where I left off no matter how long it’s been. I also feel that the short videos and frequent quizzes made it easy to stay engaged in studying for the IFR rating. Providing links to FAA documents and other reference materials also made it easier to remediate or go in depth on concepts I was struggling with.

Gold Seal is the best! Well laid out, easy to navigate. I highly recommend to anyone training at any level(private,instrument,commercial)

I used Gold Seal via my flight school to learn and prepare for my Private Pilot Knowledge test. The videos and material were perfect for my learning style and the user interface was easy to maneuver. I highly recommend GS for your learning. I was able to secure a 92 on my PAR.

I was looking for a ground school for my Private Pilot License, and among many options, I found a Gold Seal. What hooked me the first time was their free no commitment trial period. I could start learning and decide whether I liked the course enough to pay for it later. It didn’t take me long to realize that it’s a gem and I’m glad I chose the Gold Seal over the many other courses.
I had zero knowledge of aviation when I started, and I was amazed by how well they guided me through such a huge amount of material. The entire course is very well structured, and I especially liked the engagement with the videos, the official and easily accessible materials provided for every lesson, and how everything is organized on the platform. It is very convenient and intuitive, and it’s incredibly easy to go back to a previous topic or quickly find exactly what you need to review.
I got better results than I had hoped for. With the preparation I received from Gold Seal, I passed my Private Pilot (PPL) written exam with 95% and my Instrument Rating written exam with 98%. I have already bought their commercial and multi-engine courses as well, that’s how much I liked them.

I did my IFR at a part 141 school and was required to use an online curriculum that I will not name here. I chose to also sign up for Gold Seal because I took the free test drive and found the information to be easier to understand, and the delivery to be more engaging than the other program. It must work, I scored a 93 on my IFR written.

I highly recommend Gold Seal Aviation Ground School to anyone working on their private pilot license! The material is incredibly thorough, but what really sets this course apart is the communication. The owner (who you’ll see in the lesson videos) and his team are amazing—whenever I reached out via phone or chat, they got back to me right away.The content gives you a deep, practical understanding of everything a private pilot needs to know. One of the best resources included is a massive 48-page checkride prep guide that integrates the Airman Certification Standards (ACS) perfectly, along with tons of other study tools. Gold Seal is an innovative platform that is conducive to learning. Paired with the video content, the color schemes and depictions are perfect for visual learning. There are also pdf documents coupled with each license/addon.

Im in the process of asking for our school to use Gold deal as a 141 partner.

Rusell, your courses are great. I'm using the Rusty Pilot course, my wife is using the Private course. I haven't reviewed basic aviation essential knowledge in many years, and I'm enjoying the modules in your course. I can see why they are highly rated in the reviews. I just completed the FAA Private Pilot knowledge exam and scored a 97% thanks to the knowledge learned through the Gold Seal Private Pilot Ground School. Explanations were clear, and material was thoroughly covered. Of course you get out of it what you put into it, and I read all the referenced source material accompanying each lesson. The quizzes and practice exams helped solidify what I had learned, and I used flashcards daily.

Amazing ground school, did IFR and Commercial, and scored 97% in both. Love the videos, explanations, and interactive exercises.

Gold Seal's ground school courses have been the best investments I've made in my flight training journey. I have used their Private, Instrument and Commercial courses, and was able to score above 90% on all three written tests. The visuals, the interactive nature, and the depth of knowledge/level of detail that Russ and the team present is second to none. When I meet someone who's interested in aviation, I always tell them to use Gold Seal--even if they already have a ground school--because it's just that good. Thanks!!

I used this to complete my CAX-ASEL written exam and still use it as a refresher for the checkride maneuvers. All the visual aids and practice exams were a huge help for the written too. In addition, I paid full price for this right before Thanksgiving and then once they held the Black Friday deal they still went back and discounted me the $99 off which was very nice of Russ and his team. I definitely recommend this ground school.

It was a great course and I really enjoyed Russ Still and his teaching methods.

The teaching was in depth and had pause points allowing you to really memorize the material. Everything was easy to understand and retain!
