The siren song of Goop’s food delivery, with its slick website, wellness-chic narrative, and vibrant food photography, promised a culinary experience that was both effortless and elevated. The ordering process was frictionless, a masterclass in digital seduction that had me eagerly anticipating a chef-crafted meal in the comfort of my home.

The first red flag, which I chose to ignore in my state of marketing-induced optimism, was the price. The bill reflected the rates of a buzzy neighborhood bistro, setting an expectation of quality, creativity, and care. Still, hope remained.

Credit where it's due: the delivery was impeccable. It arrived precisely on time, the package left on my porch with a care that suggested its contents were precious. Unpacking the still-warm containers felt like a minor victory. This, I thought, is modern convenience perfected.

We plated the spread: a half-roasted chicken, seasoned sweet potatoes, sauteed green beans, a side salad, and a Friday-night pizza. It looked the part. But as my partner and I took our first bites, a silent, damning verdict was passed in our shared glances. The pizza tasted as if I had just whipped up a frozen Red Baron from the grocery store aisle. We moved from dish to dish, a desperate search for a single redeeming flavor, but each was a greater disappointment than the last. The chicken was tragically bland, the sweet potatoes merely sweet with a seasoning that was more of a rumor than a reality, and the green beans possessed the weary sigh of having been steamed hours prior.

Then, as the full scope of the culinary letdown settled in, the phrase escaped my lips with horrified clarity: "We've been Gooped!"
The realization was crushing. This wasn't the work of a chef. This was the soulless, indifferent output of a ghost kitchen assembly line. It was food born of apathy, cooked by someone watching the clock, utterly disconnected from the person who would eventually eat it. The flavors were muted, the textures monotonous, and the entire meal lacked a cohesive point of view. It was a collection of items, not a composed dinner.

Frankly, I have had more satisfying and flavorful food from a 7-Eleven hot dog roller. My middle school cafeteria lunches, once the benchmark for culinary misery, now seem like a fond memory in comparison.

This leads to a cascade of questions for the brand itself. Where did you go wrong, Goop? Was this the plan all along—to build a beautiful facade for a product with no soul? Where is the quality control? Who is tasting this before it's sealed and sent to your trusting customers?

We may never get the answers. The only certainty is that this was my first and last time using this service. Consider this a public service announcement: unless you enjoy paying a premium for profound disappointment, this is one service you can absolutely pass on. Save your money, save your evening, and walk down the street to a decent restaurant that actually cares.

Overpriced trash. Billionaire pedofiles love this brand because it's owned by a genocide, apartheid supporting vacant ghoul. Don't buy any of this pretentious rubbish. It endorse the murder of innocent men, women and children.

Paid for expedited shipping. Expedited shipping is supposed to be via UPS. They've generated a tracking number via USPS but it was just sitting there for more than 24 hours. Trying to talk to an actual person took a while since their AI assistant responded first with hallucinated info.

They ended up resending my order via expedited shipping after I asked, refunded the shipping fee, and provided a small credit. So while it was really frustrating initially for a time-sensitive order, it ultimately worked out. Goop is probably ok for shopping if you're not in a rush. If you can get an actual person to talk to, then their customer service is pretty good too.

TERRIBLE!!! If I could give negative stars I would. I had an item in my cart that I chose not to purchase. I abandoned the cart. The next morning I received an email that the order had been placed! I emailed the customer service email right away to let them know the order was not placed by me and that it needed to be cancelled. They told me they would escalate the issue and resolve it, then went totally dark. After no response to my last three emails, I received another email that the item had shipped and I was charged for it! Now I've been on Chat with their customer service for over an hour with no resolution. Completely unacceptable. THIS IS FRAUD.

I received a very expensive necklace as a gift for Christmas. Not even one month later, it broke. I reached out to Customer Service 4 days ago and not a word. Terrible.

Ordered a infrared sauna from Goop well before Christmas. It is has now been 45 days and they have yet to contact me once about my order not being shipped. I have contacted them numerous times only to be told they are checking on it and will get back to me. Which never happens. I would not buy anything from this store. The customer service is terrible, which if your reading this review, you already know that from the other reviews.

$25 for expedited shipping on an item that was expected to take 1 or 2 days to process. Emailed company but have not received a reply.

I wish I had read the reviews here before ordering from GOOP. My experience echoes the myriad of fellow reviewers below who have faced the same silence and lack of accountability.

I purchased a $1,500 Savette leather bag from GOOP just a few months ago, and the color has already lifted and peeled across multiple areas of the leather — an issue any professional in fashion would recognize as a manufacturing defect, not wear and tear. Despite sending three detailed emails with photos, videos, and proof of purchase, I have received no acknowledgment, no response, and no resolution.

It is alarming that a company positioning itself as a luxury retailer refuses to stand behind the products it sells. At this point, it feels like a total scam of both investor and customer dollars — built on marketing and image, not responsibility or integrity.

Being responsive to customers—especially when selling luxury goods—is basic ethical business practice today. Yet GOOP seems to have a track record of ignoring customers altogether, not just me. It’s unacceptable for a company positioning itself as premium to operate this way.

Frankly, there should be a news segment about this pattern. What GOOP sells is an image of integrity and “conscious commerce,” but the customer experience tells a very different story.

If you value quality, accountability, and basic customer service, take your business elsewhere. GOOP’s customer experience is not worthy of the brands it represents or the prices it charges.

The founder(s) should be ashamed of themselves.

If I could rate no star I would. I got charged $71.40 in duties and taxes upon checkout and was assured no extra fees collected upon delivery. DHL courier contacted me to pay an additional $103.55 for duties and taxes UNPAID! They even sent me a picture of the waybill saying I did not pay these. I have sent several emails to Goop regarding this and haven’t gotten any response. I have phoned the customer service line and get an answering machine mssg directing me to email different departments. They DO NOT answer the phone nor do they have a live chat widget on their website that they say you can talk to.
On top of everything if I get my order returned, Goops return policy says they keep the duties and taxes collected!
How can they keep the $72.40 that they say on the way bill was not collected?
I have been a subscriber since inception and a supporter and have enjoyed the relevant newsletter content. But I intend to unsubscribe and not order anything again from them unless they can resolve what they’ve done here and offer some goodwill to this enormous inconvenience I have experienced!

Ten days ago, I paid $25 for expedited shipping on an item that was supposed to take 1-2 days to process. After emailing customer service earlier this week, I have still heard nothing about the order or when it will be ready to ship.
