Have used this company on several occasions and enjoyed the service. They used to use titan Airways who also provided a good service. They have now gone down market to ascend airways. Appalling check in service with only 2 desks and waits of up to 2 hrs! They left 84 suit cases at Gatwick which we found out at banjul airport. Chaos trying to sort that out at the airport. Bags finally arrived Monday lunchtime so my wife and I had to wear the same cloths for 3 days! Called the gambian experience 5 times for the gambia and wasted my time! No interest! No customer support! On a 6.5 hr flight home we were served 1 orange juice and I cup of tea. Food was dry toasted cheese sandwich. Have spoken to the gambian experience since we got home and got the brush off! Told to deal with the airline and would not take any responsibility for the stress and inconvenience caused!

we walked from our hotel ocean beach resort, 5 minutes walk, I was worried about the walk and dark, no street lights, so we decided to walk in the day time, welcomed by the head Waitor/chef, very pleasant chap, pacifically asked if card payment could be taken, ‘no problem’ he said.

Started with spring rolls … very nice,
I had Prawn & baracuda in a cream sauce & my husband had Traditional Beef peanut butter sauce, a little spicy but tasty

Disappointed with the meal! Although we both chose something different, they both looked the same, thick dark gravy, served with either rice or chips.

When we came to pay, disappointment of no card payment when they said they could take one & the meals didn’t look appealing, both sauces tasted the same! Just what was in it, was different, we won’t return.

this is the worst company worldwide, booking web is rubbish, customer service the same, they don't have a clue and they don't help you with nothing. they taking the money from your bank and don't send confirmation or contact you only to put price up and get more money from you if they can,

I attempted to book a holiday to The Gambia with The Gambia Experience at their advertised price of £1,834. The day after booking, I was told the price was “incorrect” and that I would have to pay £506 more to proceed. This is a clear example of misleading pricing — something that is unlawful under UK consumer protection law.

Worse still, during a phone call, their staff made remarks about the location of my chosen hotel being “far,” “a quiet place,” and questioning if I was sure I wanted to stay there for two weeks — implying it was intended for “White tourists.” As a Gambian, I found these comments discriminatory, inappropriate, and disrespectful. The company denies any discrimination, but as the person on the receiving end, the impact remains the same.

If you are Gambian or non-Gambian planning to visit The Gambia, I strongly recommend using alternative tour operators and airlines. Continuing to give business to this company only enables them to keep treating Gambian customers poorly while trading under a name that suggests respect for the country.

There are many other providers who will treat you fairly, honour their prices, and value your custom without making questionable remarks. Spend your money where you are respected.

A recent trip to The Gambia resulted in 40% of the holiday under medical care and on a drip.
All inclusive at the Tamala resort, 10 days, approx £8k inc upgraded flights.
Let's start there.
Upgraded our flights to something a little more spacious for the 6 hour plus flight from London to The Gambia.
What we got was a 'non reclining' seat.
Service was fine, food okay, free drinks.
The seat was pretty disappointing tbh. Not our first rodeo in upgraded seats and expectations were higher.
The lounges were pretty good however.

The resort.
Tamala.
£260 per night (ISH) all inclusive.

Room.
Needed a proper deep clean, basic. Tired, mouldy in the shower.
Bedside 'cabinet' was a log. Yep, a 🪵
Cut usefully at 30 degrees, mostly things placed upon it gently slid off!
Degree of luxury 2/10

Food and drinks.
Drinks were the very cheapest on offer.
Bearing in mind we're paying 260 per night, a coke zero is expected, not Bon Cola or Bon Lemon. Full of sugar and taste awful.
Food.
Now we reported to management about uncovered sea food, standing for long periods of time, witnessed by a good number of visitors, only to be told we were wrong!
Clearly all the guests were hallucinating due to the medications they were recieving, administered by the 'on call' doctor.
My wife ended up on a drip and didn't venture from our room for four days, too ill to eat and on a strong course of antibiotics.
The Dr said it was his bread and butter, visiting another 3 patients within the hotel that day at £180 per visit. Great gig when the hotel pay their staff $40 per month!!!
TUI were paying their customers back £1200 as they recognised a real issue, downgrading this hotel from TUI Blue to standard.
The Gambia Experience wrote to me and told me I was mistaken about the uncovered food as they'd consulted the same management that told 12 of us that we were hallucinating and our food poisoning was caused by Sahara dust!!
One positive, the mainstream staff were great. In fear probably of losing their jobs they worked tirelessly and always with a smile.
$40 per month is exploitation.
The beach was also lovely.
So Gambia Experience.
I wrote to you and you completely dismissed my email and sided with a management that told me we were poisoned by Sahara dust.
To your detriment.
We won't be recommending you as a company and neither will we be using your services when we fly to Goa this year.
Well done TUI for being there for your customers and really listening. We'll be on board with you on the next trip.

Overpriced, and other that a dry baguette, some tea and biscuits, there is no food..even though the fight is 6 hours! TUI is better.

My wife and I have used this company numerous times over the years, mainly for flight only.
Price wise they maybe a couple of £s more expensive than TUI, but the flight times are more favourable.
Gave booked again for November 2024 and January 2025, and the prices were actually considerably lower than TUI, and luggage/seat selection are included in the price.
The staff, both on the online chat (Lucy) and on the phone (Charlotte) were really pleasant, helpful and efficient.
We would happily recommend Gambua Experience.

We were very pleased with all the staff at Gambia Experience from start to finish the whole experience was simple and stress free. The flight/hotel bookings were so easy the girls were all very knowledgeable and the customer service was second to none! Have just booked again with them for our next year holiday and will continue to book based on the experience

Very poor customer service they just seem to wan to make money. Flight over packed with luggages. Seats and storage crap. I would never travel with these people again. TUI IS much better.
No advice provided about locker my handbag was weighed and because of my laptop I was charged had they told me about locker storage I could have left my items but in I was told
I had to pay extra. Flight took ages to take off as they had no storage for a lot of the passengers luggage a lot of people complained

If I could give no stars I would. Do not book with these. We had our holiday changed 3 times only to be booked into Kololi sands apartments which are not even finished. Nothing open and apartments half done. We were told ocean view rooms were extra by gambia experience to be told on resort that they were no extra charge. Our garden view apartment looks out onto a brick wall ... where is the garden? We should never been booked into somewhere still under construction, not finished and has no facilities.
Do yourself a favour and book with a tour company that actually cares!!!

We booked our flights before the pandemic. Gambia experience kindly refunded our money in full so we ended up using them again when the world returned back to normality as we knew they were trust worthy company. I can highly recommend you to use the Gambia experience. Their agents are very well trained and always on hand to assist you with any queries you may have. Thank you

myself and my family of 3 children aged 17, 19 and 21 have just arrived home from a christmas break in the Gambia. We chose to alternate between sitting around the pool / beach and doing trips out and about every other day. the company were very helpful as we only booked our trip in early december ( due to our trip to cape town being cancelled ). they were extremely knowledgable and had lots of patience as we fired multiple questions at them immediately before, during and after booking our trip. the Gambia itself is what you want it to be. go and do nothing if you want. go and have an adventure every day if that is what you prefer. we loved our lazy river cruise that we booked at the hotel through the Rep. we also went to visit a school and brought loads of things for the children. i recommend doing both these things if you go. our flight there and back went smoothly and our hotel was in a great spot. seeing the monkeys and lizards around the hotel grounds was another novelty. thanks. matt mcguinness and family

This is a really amazing company. We've used them before and we are planning our next holiday to Gambia and Senegal with them now. The team are so helpful and knowledgeable and the holidays are truly unique. I really recommend this company for personal and superb customer service.
