Went to Plymouth for a birthday meal with my family. What an amazing experience with superb attentive service and perfectly prepared food.
Some Sex on the Beach made the evening perfect as did the unexpected birthday surprise from the brilliant team at F&B Plymouth. They helped make my birthday really special

Absolutely devastated after our visit to Frankie & Benny’s (Riverside, Northampton) on Saturday, 5th July 2025 at 6:30 PM. What was meant to be a simple dinner out with my wife and 3-year-old daughter turned into one of the most humiliating and distressing experiences we’ve ever had.

My wife found a long strand of hair tangled in her BBQ chicken stack. We raised it calmly with the waitress, hoping for a basic apology or some decency. Instead, we were met with a cold, dismissive remark: “No one in the kitchen has long hair.” No apology. No concern. Just complete denial. I then pointed to the CCTV camera right in front of us and asked her to review it. Only then did she offer to remake the dish, but by that point, my wife had completely lost her appetite and asked for it to be packed up instead.

That’s when the real nightmare began.

The manager arrived at our table with an attitude that can only be described as aggressive, rude, and completely unfit for someone in a customer-facing role. She told us we weren’t allowed to take the meal away because we were using a Tastecard, fair enough if explained politely. But when my wife, visibly upset, tried to explain why she didn’t want to eat anymore, the manager abruptly cut her off, told her to “shut up,” and said “get lost.”

Shocked, my wife stood up and said she was leaving. The manager looked her in the eye and repeated: “Yes, get lost.” My daughter, who was still nibbling on her chips, was left frightened and in tears. I tried to calmly reason with the manager, I explained that our child was terrified and crying, but she turned to me and said, “You can leave as well.”

When I mentioned that I would be sharing my experience and the photo of the hair online, she threatened me. “I’ll report you to the police,” she said, “and I’ll make sure you’re banned from every Frankie & Benny’s.” For what exactly? For being a father trying to protect his wife and child after they were treated so disgustingly?

I called the police as soon as we got to the car. The officer I spoke to was incredibly understanding and supportive. She told me I had every right to share my experience and even encouraged me to report the incident to head office.

To Frankie & Benny’s senior management: I’m pleading with you to review the footage from that evening, both inside the restaurant and outside in the car park. You’ll see how we were treated. You’ll see the moment my wife found the hair. And most importantly, you’ll see the look on my daughter’s face. confused, frightened, and in tears, all because we were thrown out in the most disrespectful manner while she was still eating.

We’ve been loyal customers for years. We live locally. We’ve brought friends, family, even guests from Virgin Active gym nearby. But after this, I don’t think we’ll ever be able to walk into one of your restaurants again.

This ruined our weekend. It left my wife disgusted and my little girl traumatised. I hope someone in your team takes this seriously, because no family should ever be made to feel the way we did.

Got Home And Ordered 2 More!!

I visited Frankie & Benny’s Sheffield with my autistic daughter for our special day. I explained to three staff members that we were using a valid Wowcher and that I have ADHD, autism, dyslexia & PTSD. The manager allowed us to order and eat, only to tell us after that the Wowcher system “wasn’t working” — something he admitted had been happening all week (I have video proof). I was forced to pay full price, scraping together my electric money. My daughter couldn’t have dessert, and I had to stay at my grandma’s due to having no electricity funds left. I was humiliated and triggered badly. I’ve since seen others treated the same way — it feels like a scam. This wasn’t just bad service — it was exploitation.

Me and my husband had a meal at frankie and bennys broughton cheshire something we don't usually do . We were served by Becca and we honestly can say we have never come across such a nice , efficient and welcoming waitress!!! She was delightful and made our evening extra nice ! We will return soon and have already told family and friends to visit . The food was great and delicious 5 star . Thanks Becky ...Mr and Mrs Bray

I had pre booked at the O2 f&bs and was quite concerned as our local branch (absolutely awful restaurant! In Basildon) had just closed. Food good, service with Sam excellent and the manager a loverly fella but didn’t catch his name. We were booked and he let us in a bit earlier as we were seeing a concert. I phoned the restaurant in the morning as my daughter had left her sunglasses on the table. Lucky someone handed them in. Had a little laugh & joke on the phone and collected them.
The only bad thing was there was no orderly organisation about who was booked for a table and people who were there just on the off chance. Overall, good, clean, excellent service and greatly managed for such a large venue.

I recently booked a meal online at Frankie & Benny's Basildon branch where we have dined several times before.

I received an email confirming my booking. I travelled to the venue where there was a notice on the door stating that the branch had been closed. This totally ruined the planned evening.

I am disgusted that I was able to book a table at a non-existent at this main name restaurant.

I initially tried to inform Frankie & Benny's of this issue via the Frankie and their Complaints online page but that’s the one place where the restaurant’s information has been removed!

I emailed the CEO as this was the only other way of making contact with zero response

Went to f&b’s today at pride park derby for a bite to eat and booked before got there in case busy had a nice friendly greeting sorry didnt get name but she was so
Polite food was served in good time and very enjoyable recommend to all

Jess at Nottingham was great, very personable and friendly - couldn’t ask for more!

Love F&B’s!!!! Never had a bad experience with this restaurant and i always enjoy the food. Lovely setting and friendly staff. Always a pleasant experience :)

Our experience today was just how delightful our waitress Trish was. She was friendly and efficient and looked after 2 slightly older ladies really well. Nothing was too much trouble and making us feel very welcome.She is a credit to your restaurant.

Visited the one in East Midlands airport
Host should have just gone back to bed moaning and yawning looked like he’d been drag through hedge backwards. Waited at our table 15 mins watching 4 your lads behind the bar joking around non productive waste of space we left without ordering who ever is running this show needs firing

Went to F&B in Leicester city centre today. Haven't been to this F&B before. It had a nice atmosphere. We had a lovely meal, thought it was very good value. It was quite busy but we were made to feel welcome and even though there weren't many staff they did a wonderful job, especially our waitress, Vicky, who was very polite and helpful. Will definitely be going back.

Love going to Frankie and bennys edge lane Liverpool, staff are fab as always and Olivia so attentive cant do enough for you :)

I won’t put what site as the site is not the issue here. Big Table Group who own the franchises are!! Absolute ignorance towards spoiled food, brushed under the carpet. Just wanted to make them aware but the replies received from their “investigation” are despicable. Purple calamari which is a sign of it being spoiled was consumed until we spotted it. Staff member who served us was extremely concerned and whisked it away from the table also agreeing “purple calamari is very bad” - now because no staff member on site that day has made a report and no other member of the public has made a report that day about the calamari we are being made out to be liars basically! Photographs are a great thing in hindsight aren’t they and I wish I had taken them at the time. But be warned if you have an issue with your food and want to be courteous and report it to Big Table Group be prepared for the waste of time replies or just don’t bother as they don’t care anyway!

The food is bland. The macaroni cheese had no flavor whatsoever. Don't know why it's still in business!

Had mac n cheese. It was £14 and literally one spoon full, burnt and dry. Still starving lol. When did f&bs get so stingey and crap? And prices much higher. Disappointing. Chixquitos it is next time, never fail

Visited the Cardiff store in new arcade and what a turn around from
A few years ago . On previous visit staff were not helpful left me standing 15 minutes and no people skills .. went back last night to the staff were so lovely attending and made the place so warm welcoming and genuine lovely staff , food was delicious great value so glad to return to it being back to its best

We visited the Ashton branch on Ashton retail park , firstly all our food came at once ? (Including starters mains AND DESSERTS ????) They offered to take back the dessert which was fine , but then they had also forgotten one of our meals and we waited another 15 minutes for this. After we finished the meal , we had waited 30 minutes for our dessert until we asked someone about this. It then took another 20 minutes for our desserts to actually arrive. No one had checked on us writhing this whole time. Bad customer service to say it wasn’t even busy. Thanks.
