First of all, I hate that I have to write this review. This was totally avoidable had I received any response to my multiple attempts to contact customer service for help.

A little while back, I purchased a FoodSaver Vacuum Sealer (model V4840) to replace my previous unit that finally wore out after years of use. I loved it and used it often. My expectation with the new vacuum sealer was that I would have the same experience, which is why I was okay spending $249.00 on the new unit.

On my fourth use, I noticed that the bags (FoodSaver brand) were not sealing, and there was a red light indicating that the “Tray was full.” I clean my vacuum sealer after every use, so I was surprised to see this. However, I opened the tray to troubleshoot the problem, and it was empty. I turned the unit off and back on, but it still wasn’t working. I unplugged it and waited a few hours, but it still didn’t work. I tried it again a couple of days later, and still nothing.

I wasn’t upset at this point, but I knew I needed to reach out to customer service to either troubleshoot the problem or make arrangements for a replacement unit. I received an automated email stating that they had received my request and that someone from their team would follow up with me. I waited a little over a week and never heard anything back.

Thinking my request might have fallen through the cracks (as that can happen), I reached out again with my reference number (47404684). Still nothing.

At this point, it feels like they are happy to sell me a defective product but are unable or unwilling to provide a loyal customer with any reasonable support for one of their top-tier products. Needless to say, I’ll be looking at their competitors going forward, as I expected much more from this company.

All in all, I have found this experience very disappointing.

I have been using FoodSaver vacuum sealers for more than three decades. The one I have, my second one, still works, but I thought I would upgrade with a new one from Costco since they were on sale. FM 2900. Super disappointed that it didn't come with a port that I could use to seal canning jars, a feature which I use every day. I tried to put the equipment I have into the port of this machine, but it did not fit. So I tried to call the company, and after 20 minutes of waiting for someone to answer the phone I gave up. I then tried to fill out an email form, wasting another 20 minutes of my life, only to hit the submit button and get an error saying that they were having problems with their servers or some such thing. How utterly annoying. Suffice it to say that my question is still unanswered, and I will be returning the product to Costco and hope that my old one lasts. Sad that I can't even ask a question to perhaps find a model that still has that canning jar function, but I guess that's not possible. Why provide a phone number for customer service when it doesn't exist? And why have a form on your website when your website doesn't work? I will not buy another product from this company. At first I was surprised to see so many low ratings on this site for FoodSaver, but I noticed that most are related to poor customer service, and now I know why. Customer service is important in a good business, so figure it out FoodSaver.

Food saver bags are now missing cardboard cylinder....this is not a quality move....yes you can save money as a company but your product is not quality anymore! I will find other bags that meet my expectation of a product I used to live.

En revanche, le prix des consommables (2 rouleaux de 30cm x 3m pour 15€) est une arnaque absolue.

Ma machine food saveur vient de rendre l'âme, sa durée de vie 4 ans et 1 jours.
Elle m'a bien servi, si le vide ne se fait pas c'est que les soudures du sac ne sont pas étanches. Il faut refaire les 3 soudures complètement, et normalement cela devra faire le vide. Je n'ai pas racheté de Food Saveur, mais un bas de gamme de chez Darty pas cher, on verra.

Acheté il y a 1 mois un lot de 4 boites sous vide + le petit appareil qui fait le vide, aucune ne marche, se remplissent d'air en 3 ou 4 heures. Je ne peux
donc pas m'en servir pour conserver en longue durée. Quand à l'appareil à faire le vide, à plus de 45€, il n'est même pas automatique.

Model FS2110 hand held system. The first one stopped working after about the 6th time I used it. Shipped it back for inspection and they replaced it for me. Today I contacted them cause the replacement is doing the same thing. Frank from customer service told me I wasn’t sent a replacement and the photos and video I sent he said was the same ones from a year ago! Basically calling me a liar!!! My husband was right beside me yesterday when I took the pictures. Pics are date stamped!!!! He was very rude. After I told him I’ll be contacting corporate about the issue and him, I haven’t heard back. If he’s treating other customers like this, he needs to be fired. This is the second one. I want reimbursed. This model is no longer on the website and Ollie’s outlet has 100’s of them for 20.00. This tells me that this model has had multiple complaints!

Machine sous vide FOODSAVER FFS017X:
Après 10 utilisations et une explosion d'un des composants, la machine n'est pas réparable. C'est inadmissible qu'une machine presque neuve, dont le prix est de 158,99€, ne soit pas réparable, le service client ne réponds même pas aux mails. Il serait judicieux d'interdire cette marque dont les produits cessent de fonctionner peu de temps après les 2 ans de garantie, je suis dans cette situation et il semblerait que nous soyons nombreux à nous retrouver dans cette situation.

Ordered 11" bags and was sent 8" bags. When I told them they did not ship what I ordered, I was told I had to pay to return the wrong order and reorder again. I should not have to pay for their mistakes.

The web site offers a 15% Discount if you sign up to receive emails from them. I signed up and was sent a code for 15% off. I tried to use the code 5 minutes later and got an Invalid Coupon message at the site. I called customer service, and they told me to send a screen shot of the shopping cart. They then said some of the items in my cart were already discounted and the coupon could not be applied to them. Nothing in my cart was on sale. Even if some items had been discounted the coupon should have applied to the other items. Nothing was on sale. The problem was an Invalid Coupon as the web site clearly stated. They got my email, sent me a worthless coupon and then blew me off.

Bought the foodsaver about one and a half years ago. The heating strip has to be replaced as it no longer seals the bags rendering the machine useless.Got in touch with customer service and they said they do not sell that piece and offered me a 20% discount on a overpriced replacement(.229.). Shame on you foodsaver. Such a nice machine with no service.Do not want to spend 200. a year will buy cheaper model with replacement parts.

Worthless plastic containers for storing food. They don't stay sealed in the refrigerator. I've purchased and used different styles of their reusable containers and the only consistent thing about them is you can't count on them staying sealed which is obviously why you buy them in the first place. Waste of money.

Just purchased a FM5400 to replace an older FoodSaver vacuum sealer. The FM5400 is what you get when you let engineers, who believe that more complicated the better, rather than consumers, who actually will use the product, design something.
In order to seal a bag with food in it you have to place the end of the bag in a vacuum and sealing area that is 4 inches higher than the surface the machine rests on. This requires you to hold the bag with two hands. Of course, to activate the process you also have to use two hands to push a bar that starts the vacuum. In order to vacuum and seal one bag you have to simultaneously use all 4 hands. What, you only have two hands, I guess that forgot to tell the engineers that people don’t have 4 hands.
This is just one of the myriad design flaws in this unit. Do yourself a big favor, avoid the FM5400 like the plague

The plastic coupling of the sealer hose that attaches to containers for creating a vacuum broke right after I first used my new Food Saver. I have called Customer Service 4 to 5 times a day, every day, for 6 weeks and they do not answer. After following the prompts, voice message “unable to the transfer a call, try again later,” followed by a disconnect. There is no customer service support and stores cannot order the replacement part.

Does not hold a seal!! Waste of money
