I've been busy enjoying my fabulous new space that First Choice build for me that it's taken me over a year to write this review! Sorry to AJ for that 😄!

This was my first full house renovation project (still very much ongoing) and like most homeowners, I was apprehensive about the whole process, but from the moment I met the team at First Choice, I felt like I was in extremely capable hands.

The initial consultation was friendly, approachable, and with a dash of humor that immediately put me at ease. I had very little idea what I wanted to achieve really with the project but their expertise turned my dreams into reality.

The work and communication was meticulous, and they worked closely with me every step of the way. What amazed me most was their attention to detail, the little things, such as spending the time ensuring the bricks of the build closely matched the rest of the house, or the plastering around the bi-folds - it might seem like table stakes stuff but there's so many houses on my street with extensions built in a totally different brick colour that it felt like just that little bit of extra care and attention.

The team also accommodated (A lot!) of last minute requests with no complaints, such as ripping out and putting a new balustrade in, ripping out and rebuilding my front porch, basically all the internal joinery and much more. The craftsmanship is top-notch, and I've received countless compliments from friends and family.

First Choice turned what could have been a stressful ordeal into an enjoyable journey. Their professionalism, expertise, and good-natured banter made this partnership unforgettable.

We required a double height extension and other changes to the overall look of the house. Tony's approach to the solution was thorough and practical. A few bumps along the way and unexpected additions were explained thoroughly and the works carried out by a varied team of approachable, friendly and competent engineers. Keeping the neighbours happy was always seen as important and AJ carried these tasks out on our behalf as we were, sensibly, not living in the property during the works. The six month project was carried out on time and we've had minimal comebacks on the overall results.

Any form of building works can create a level of additional stress to a busy persons life. What is needed is a steady safe pair of hands and that is what you get with First choice. If there is ever a problem, it is dealt with as an obstacle to be overcome. This ethos puts you at immediate ease. The team were professionals and all excellent within their given trades, but mostly kind and considerate individuals. The work was done on time and in accordance with the contract we had in place. The end product ( new loft room and bathrooms) is fantastic and we could not be happier.

This feedback is well overdue (we have been tied up with further house renovations...).

FCE did an absolutely fantastic job on our extension in Wilmslow. They helped with planning permission, design and build. Professional company through and through. Given that we haven't done such a large job before, we were a bit nervous and had a lot of questions. FCE was really good putting us at ease and now that we are fully complete with all our work (and all building regs etc was completed a few months ago) we further appreciate how professional this company is. Would highly recommend.

We were looking to have an extension down to our property and came across FC Extensions on the Trust Pilot website. The reviews were excellent and that is how we got in touch with FCE.

Tony came to visit us and we found this consultation extremely useful. It felt like a realistic approach to a building project. He talked about the various phases in the journey and overall it was very reassuring as it was a very open conversation around the scope, challenges and risks involved. We went for an all inclusive package which included the design and build.

Prior to the build phase both Tony and AJ visited us and we were very impressed by their friendly and professional approach. The entire build process was managed end to end by FCE. All FCE staff who worked on the project were very courteous and professional and also very flexible. There were regular check-ins by AJ and Tony and also very prompt response for any urgent matters

Overall we are very happy with our extension and have no hesitation in recommending FCE.

Having moved to our new bungalow, we needed some alterations and improvements carrying out.
Having had a few quotations and interviews, only First Choice seemed to "get" our requirements. Basically, to take on the project and manage from start to finish. We were quite anxious, having no knowledge of the processes. First Choice take on from planning to completion, removing the need for us to make decisions that we are not experienced in doing so. Also, First Choice were able to start works immediately, rather than in 4 months, or more, time.
Although the project, initially, was for a conservatory replacement and internal redecoration, additional work was needed when issues were identified by First Choice. This was no "hard sell", and they had advised that issues may arise as work was carried out.
Options for the additional work were offered, from leave it as it was, partial, or complete the needs in full. Quotations for all options were offered at all times. Having opted for full repairs, all works were carried out in tandem with the original project.
Funds were needed in stages, not an upfront payment, either on delivery of materials or completion of a stage.
All the workforce are highly professional and dedicated to their tasks. Tony, the MD, deals with any queries in a timely manner. AJ, the site manager/customer liason, kept in regular contact, depite being extreemely busy, juggling many different projects.
We are now back in our transformed property, and are looking to making it a home.
We would certainly recommend this company for people wishing to have work done on their property. They are not cheap, but cut no corners, with all works carried out to a high standard.

Great company from start to finish.
We used First Choice Extensions for our double storey rear extension with complete internal refurbishment.
From our very first meeting with Tony and the team, FC were able to offer us a clear and detailed plan of how the works would be carried out.
A big selling point for FC for us was that they offered the complete package. They handled every step from the initial design and application for planning permission right through to completion with ease and professionalism.
The scale of our works combined with the age of the property inevitably led to several unexpected problems throughout the project. Our dedicated project manager, AJ and his team were brilliant when these issues arose. FC were able to use their experience to quickly resolve the unexpected variations and were very considerate of budgeting requirements with the solutions offered.
The after project management we have received from the FC team has also been second to none with all snags being resolved.
FC extensions have been a great company to work with and we are very happy with the end result. We would definitely recommend this company.

Tony, AJ and the boys did a fantastic job with our extension, from completing the initial plans to finishing the build, we are very happy with the result. We found FCE good value, friendly and professional and would recommend them to others who are looking for a build of a high standard. Communication was good and any issues were dealt with quickly.

We once had a large, attached garage, full of junk that we had accumulated over 30 years. We now have a wonderful studio, shower room and utility area, courtesy of First Choice Extensions. We are truly delighted with the build quality of our garage conversion and the manner in which the whole project was carried out.
Our initial contact was with Tony Marsden who heads the business, and we were very impressed with his approach, which was friendly, professional, and completely transparent in terms of the costs involved. The documentation provided was comprehensive and extremely well-presented. His customer-oriented approach continued throughout the build and was echoed by all the tradespeople involved with the project.
We looked forward to every visit. It was a pleasure to see the quality of the work as it was carried out and to engage with everyone involved. It should also be said that much help was also cheerfully given in areas that were not strictly part of their remit, and especially with regard to the relocation of certain heavy household effects. Special mention should be made of AJ, Project/Customer Service Manager, whom it was always a pleasure to see, even if he did consume many capsules of coffee.
I am now sitting in my furnished studio and admiring the quality of my surroundings – in particular, the expert plastering, joinery, flooring and paintwork, and I am confident that all the other important aspects of the build – groundwork, roofing, plumbing and electrics will also stand the test of time.
We feel that we have received excellent value for money and would whole-heartedly recommend their service to any potential client.

First Choice Extensions were responsible for the design and construction of a rear kitchen extension in our Victorian mid-terrace.

We were particularly impressed by the design pack which not only provided us with a clear vision and architectural plans, but also handled all of the complications and admin required when going through the planning permission process.

We decided to remain in our property throughout the building process and First Choice Extensions made this as comfortable as possible by ensuring the property was secure, but also helping figure out how we could continue to live and how soon we might return to normality.

The workforce was very friendly – everyone who worked on the build was clearly highly specialised in their trade and completed the work to an excellent standard.

When we were presented with challenges we were really impressed with the level of customer service and how easy it was to contact First Choice Extensions who always had a can-do attitude to resolve issues as promptly and effectively as possible.

First Choice also went above and beyond when we needed to reach agreements with our neighbours and handled almost all of the communication in order to avoid conflicts surrounding boundary issues and alike.

The build itself was completed within the projected timeline and the project ran against the staged phases almost like clockwork. This was particularly important for us as we had to arrange our Kitchen Fitter and Floorer - but First Choice Extensions stayed true to their word and delivered everything on time and without having to take any shortcuts.

Overall we would highly recommend First Choice Extensions. We’re delighted with the finished product and the hard work and expertise of the team has truly transformed our home.

We have used First Choice Extensions for 3 projects and were pleased with their service. In our experience their work was high quality and we found the team at FCE to be personable, responsive and reliable.

FCE have recently completed a kitchen extension, garage conversion and full first floor renovation for us. It was a 4 month build and we lived in the house throughout.

In summary, I would recommend FCE to anyone looking for a builder and would give 4.5 stars. We are very happy with the end result, and it completed pretty much at the fixed price that Tony quoted at the start of the project (subject to a couple of minor variations).

The completion date was also met (albeit there was a bit of contingency built into that timeline so there were weeks when things did not happen due to supplier, weather etc.)

Things did not go perfectly - at some points in the project, communication of when certain tasks were going to happen could have been better at some points, and there were snags that needed to be rectified following requests from us but AJ did manage expectations at the start of the project by saying things would go wrong.

AJ and Tony were always on hand to answer any questions or address any concerns. I could always get hold of them straight away (including at weekends) if needed.

FCE did also go beyond what was technically itemised in the contract for ancillary works / finishing touches, which was appreciated.

We recently used FC Extensions to open up between our dining room and kitchen. Tony came to give us a quote when he said he would, it was competitive and the work was carried out much sooner than expected. AJ called in to check we were happy with the work once it was completed.
We would recommend FC Extensions and look forward to working with them again during the next phase of work on our house.

First Choice Extensions have just completed a single storey extension.

From initial consultation through to completion they took care of everything. From sorting out the planning application and dealing with spurious delays caused by the council planning dept; to sorting out the design and calcs for all the steel beams; to managing the build through a tricky period to get the kitchen ready in time for Xmas. Tony, AJ and Leon and all their guys were really helpful.

We are really happy with the finished extension.

We signed a contract with FC after meeting Tony and AJ the faces of the company, immediately I was at ease with the knowledge and expertise of these guys. The building work involved in my project was complex and over 3 floors. We had a complete rip out through the whole building and also added a dormer conversion and converted the downstairs into an open plan kitchen. There were issues like with any build of this size throughout the project but FC sorted them out in a timely manner, kept me up to date and went over and above to ensure we were looked after. The customer service level and quality of tradesmen they use is what puts these guys a level above the rest. We as customers are very particular and had a high spec in mind, we are also very hands on with what we expect from a build, but FC took this in their stride. There were times where stress and worry did come into play, partly due to covid and shortage on building materials and because we were out of our home for a long period with young children, this pressure was put on FC and they dealt with it with a fully professional and can do attitude, always going the extra mile to get us back in our home as soon as physically possible. We have nothing but good things to say, we were blown away by the high standard and finish of our build, it was above and beyond expectation and we would highly recommend this building company!

I’m very happy with the work of First Choice Extensions. They just completed my loft conversion excellently. Mr. AJ and his team handled the project with passion, professionalism and effective time management. They look after customer very well. They even did a few add-ons for me free of charge. We recently completed our two story side and back extension to our semi-detached house in Cheadle with FCE. We were recommended FCE by a friend who had a single story side extension and were very pleased with the results.

With us being totally new to any kind of house extension project Tony was excellent in his approach in explaining the process, answering questions and laid out a clear quote with fixed costs for each stage. This provided us with confidence in FCE, the project costs and timelines and we were happy to go ahead. Many other firms quoted for the project at a shorter timeframe or lower cost but were unwilling to go into the detail & time in the quotation phase that Tony provided. We were therefore happy to go ahead with FCE as we felt we trusted Tony to deliver on commitments.

The planning process was simple with FCE and we received planning approval so the build could start in July (a month earlier than originally scheduled).

Over the course of the build FCE provided all teams for demolition, brick laying, roofing/joinery, plumbing, electrics & plastering. Interaction with these groups was easy and importantly the quality of the work excellent throughout. This approach took a lot of stress away for us as we did not need to worry about arranging/organising these tradesmen.

AJ was our customer service manager and he provided us with weekly updates on the project plan. He was our first contact for any queries and issues over the course of the build. AJ was fantastic in solving problems for us and addressing any concerns we had through the build. He was always responsive and having him available meant we could avoid chasing up specific tradesmen if there was a problem.

The build was completed in November just before the arrival of our baby boy which was a huge relief. The quality of work was excellent and any final snags no matter how small have been dealt with quickly. Project was delivered on budget as per the quote provided by Tony.

We have already recommended FCE to a neighbour on our road and we would definitely choose them again for any future house extension works. We are so pleased with our new space and the work completed by FCE which added a garage, playroom, extended 3rd bedroom & new 4th bedroom. The project has transformed our house into a home that we can grow into and enjoy as a family of 4.
