I went on a 7-day solo trip to Peru through Explorer's passage in February 2026. I coordinated it relatively last minute (less than 90 days before departure), and the process was seamless. Jeff (the owner) hopped on a Zoom call with me to discuss location and trip preferences, and he put together a perfect itinerary for me as a solo female traveler. I felt safe the entire time, my hotels were stunning, I enjoyed both group and private tours, and everything ran smoothly. My guide was incredible, protective, and extremely knowledgeable. I would recommend using Explorers Passage for anyone looking for a custom, high-touch travel experience.

We have the most amazing honeymoon in Thailand! We could not have done any of this without the Explorers Passage team. This was such a logistic heavy trip (flights, transfers, boats, taxis, hotels, excursions, etc.) that we would have spent the whole trip worrying if we had planned this ourselves. This way, we got to turn our brains off and just enjoy.
Emmy and Jib, our local guides in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, made our whole trip. We had the best time in these cities all thanks to them.
Thailand as a whole is an amazing country. The food, the buildings, the animals, the citizens, is just incredible. It is the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation.
This was our first time using a travel agency and now we never want to go back to planning a trip on our own. Every excursion, all our hotels, everything was perfect. We cannot thank Explorer's Passage enough for giving us the best honeymoon and a memories we will have for a lifetime.

Fantastic excursion in Patagonia!
I first spoke to Jeff about a year before our trip, he was incredibly knowledgable and helpful giving us pointers, tips, helping us plan the perfect trip for our honeymoon, and then of course doing the actual planning, logistics, and booking for the parts of our trip that he organised. The hotels he booked for us were fantastic and the local contacts he used were responsive and helpful as well, which became super important when one of our flights was cancelled and we needed to rebook.
Jeff was always happy to go above and beyond, giving us further advice and tips beyond just the portion of our trip we booked through him, and we wouldn't hesitate to use him and The Explorer's Passage again!

I was craving an adventure that would truly feed my soul—something culturally immersive, a little on the wild side, and deeply meaningful. I wasn’t looking for just a trip; I wanted connection, challenge, and renewal. South America immediately came to mind: ancient landscapes, rich traditions, and a powerful relationship between people and nature. This journey felt like self-care in motion—a reset. Peaceful, powerful, and exactly the kind of accomplishment I needed. When I thought about places I had only heard about or seen in photos, Machu Picchu instantly rose to the top. As someone who loves to hike, the Inca Trail drew me in. I didn’t know much about it at first, but once I learned it was a four-day trek—and recognized as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World—it was absolutely on my radar. From the moment I planned my trip with The Explorers Passage (TEP), I knew I was in excellent hands. Their service and support were exceptional from start to finish. This trek is not just about the physical journey—it’s about history, culture, and meaning. Walking the Inca Trail is a living testament to the Incas’ brilliance in engineering, architecture, farming, and astronomy. Their legacy is truly awe-inspiring. The scenery was beyond breathtaking. Every single day felt surreal. TEP handled everything seamlessly: permits, airport transfers, transportation to and from the trailhead, entry passes, accommodations, and a thoughtfully planned itinerary. Most importantly, they provided an outstanding local guide. My guide, Neptali, was the absolute BEST—an expert in every sense of the word. His knowledge, passion, and care brought the trail to life and elevated the entire experience. The porters were highly experienced, and the chef delivered an exquisite level of service. Each morning, I woke up to a basin of warm water outside my tent, followed by hot coffee or tea delivered to my liking before breakfast with the other hikers. Every meal—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—was always on time, served hot, and absolutely delicious. One thing I truly appreciated was how private the experience felt. We rarely crossed paths with other hikers or tour groups until reaching the Sun Gate. It genuinely felt as if the trek had been reserved just for us—almost as though we had the entire 26-mile trail to ourselves. My time in Cusco was equally wonderful. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and very accommodating. Overall, the entire trip was flawless thanks to TEP’s organization and attention to detail. This experience exceeded all expectations, and I would wholeheartedly recommend The Explorers Passage to anyone seeking a meaningful, life-changing adventure.

Jeff set us up with a great itinerary for a self guided W trek agenda. he was responsive in all of our planning and while we were in Chile, there was never a time he would not be available if needed.
The details were followed thru with in every level of the trip.
After meeting dozens of other trekkers and discussing their trips it become obvious that Jeff had set us up for the best timeframes possible.

We had an amazing time on our trip to Patagonia. Explorer’s Passage made the trip so seamless for us! They booked the perfect hotels - nice quality and great locations. They also provided local contacts that we could reach out to throughout our stay. I am so grateful we booked through them!

Our 16 day trip to Spain that The Explorers Passage arranged taking us from Santiago to La Rioja, to Sevilla, and Granada was exceptionally well done. This was our 3rd trip with TEP. We love the fact they work with us to select the places to go to and develop an itinerary, then take care of all the details. The transports, transfers, accommodations, tours and tour guides were terrific and well thought out.
TEP helped us navigate the shortest route possible for Camino certificate credit (72 miles), from Sarria to Santiago, via the French way of the Camino De Santiago, we thank you for making that possible. The Camino accommodations were wonderful and meals worked out great. The Hotel Monumento San Francisco in Santiago was first class and well received by the weary travelers!
Logrono, and La Rioja wine tour was perfect. The tour guide was knowledgeable and fun, and the wineries excellent, thank you. We understood it was harvest time and yet they took the time to talk to us about their vineyards, wines and history of the winery. Our favorite was Cor de Mei, and a close second was Ostatu.
Sevilla, and the accommodations here were perfect, so centrally located. We very much enjoyed the walking guided tour of the Cathedral and Alcazar. The Flamenco dancing show that evening was exceptional. Our unexpected surprise was the day we left for Granada, and our Transport Driver took us to the Plaza De Espana, a must see!
Granada, and the accommodations at the Aurea Catedral were excellent and again, a convenient central location. Our guide was fun, friendly, and so knowledgeable of the history of the city, the caves, and the Alhambra.
Thank you for this amazing travel experience, we’re already thinking of another adventure!!

I have done 4 countries with the explorers passage and each trip has been extraordinary. They go out of their way to customise the plan based on your needs. All of the tiniest details are taken care of, the guides are excellent, you will see that you are getting a much better experience than other tours around you and in the end it is excellent value for money.

I received a high level of curated knowledgeable and flexible service from Jeff and his team. They were responsive efficient and invested in every step of my journey. It was my first time working with Jeff and I plan to book another adventure with The highest confidence in the explorer passage

The pre-trail guide and the trail guide were both best-in-class. The pre-trail experiences were well thought out and executed. Hotels and rooms were all top of line as well as the restaurants in which we ate. Total trip duration was from October 6 - October 24, 2025

Our trip to Venice and the Dolomites, meticulously crafted by Jeff Bonaldi and his team at The Explorer's Passage, was nothing short of perfection. The entire journey was flawlessly planned, with every aspect taken care of down to the finest detail. Our hotels and restaurant reservations were not only outstanding but perfectly captured the essence of what we had hoped for. All of our transfers and logistics were executed without a single issue, allowing us to simply relax and enjoy the breathtaking scenery. The level of customization and personal attention was incredible, resulting in a truly unforgettable and hassle-free vacation. Jeff and Explorer's Passage did a simply outstanding job on planning our trip and being extremely responsive during the trip (the few times a little help was needed). I can't say enough and will be booking all future adventure trips with Jeff. He knows his stuff from personal experience, and does a excellent job administratively.

Working with Jeff to customize a trip to Patagonia for 5 was really enjoyable, easy and affordable! Jeff listens, asks insightful questions, responds thoughtfully and quickly if done either by Zoom or online. He found a way to include all we wanted to do and seamlessly put it together never making our travel plans and hikes seem like they were jammed together; it gave us downtime for reflecting on such incredible sights and sites. We are fortunate to have connected with Jeff and plan to use his services and network providers again.

Jeff and his crew went above and beyond in helping us plan an amazing trip to Patagonia. I had younger children, and he was able to work around some of our restraints and concerns. Their company made every effort to make us feel safe and give us an itinerary that the entire family could enjoy, while staying within our budget. Every hotel, restaurant recommendation, car transfer, and guide that they connected us with was excellent and worked out seamlessly. I would absolutely trust them with any vacation in the future and plan to travel more with them. I was blown away by their organization and thoughtfulness throughout the planning, and even after the trip! Additionally, they were always readily available for questions and would respond very quickly. They were amazing!

I booked a last second trip to Costa Rica a week before leaving. The team allowed me to pick all of the different activities I wanted to do, and they arranged everything. The trip was amazing. The team at explorer passage made it super easy, all I had to do was wake up in the morning and meet the driver in the lobby and the rest was all taken care of.

I decided on the last day to extend my trip and they immediately arranged for accommodations and activities. I highly recommend using this company as they are very organized and made traveling extremely easy and stress free.

I wasn't sure if I was being realistic in trying to pull off what one might consider as an almost "last minute" trip to Santiago/Chilean Patagonia (W Trek) but Jeff assured me that it could still be done. I want to start by saying I took my 78 year old mom to Costa Rica for a trip before she is not able to do so in the future.

I wanted to go and have excursions and things for us to do. However I really didn't want to do a lot of planning.

I googled and explorer's passage came up w a lot of experience w planning trips to Costa Rica. I told Jeff 5-6 things I wanted to do and he made up a 7 day itinerary for us that was packed w things to do but not exhausting.

I will say that the trip was incredibly smooth and it was 95% due to Jeff's planning of the trip. We had transportation scheduled for every day and they were there without any issues before they needed to be.

I highly recommend Jeff and explorer's passage.

We had the most amazing experience trekking in Peru. Explorer's Passage helped us create the most incredible itinerary and our every request was incorporated into the trip. We can't say enough great things about our experience with Explorer's Passage. From start to finish Jeff and his team in Peru made it the trip of a lifetime. We travelled with our 3 teenage children and Jeff prepared all of us well in our pre-trip meetings. From the moment we landed in Lima, Jeff's team was there to help us with everything from checking in at the hotel and the airport and providing us with amazing guides at each destination. Our guide Wilbur in Cusco and along the Inca Trail certainly lived up to his nickname as the G.O.A.T! His knowledge of the history and culture was outstanding- there wasn't a question he couldn't answer! The staff of chefs and porters were equally impressive. The food was better than we have eaten in many restaurants and they did everything they could to make us comfortable. We will definitely recommend Explorer's Passage to anyone thinking of travelling to Peru and any other adventure destination. We've already started looking at other trips through Explorer's Passage and can't wait travel with them again!
