Morocco has always been on my bucket list so I dragged along my husband and two teenage sons and arranged it through Experience It after a recommendation from my sister. I did check out four other tours, but stuck with Experience It because they were open to adapting our schedule. We got additional add-on's including ATV riding in the dunes (for the kids and they LOVED it); sand boarding (too much work) and ballooning in Marrakesh (well worth it).
We enjoyed the Hasan II Mosque & Rick’s Cafe in Casablanca but no need to spend too much time there as it was worth going to Rabat/Sale where we stayed at the Repose (make sure you stay here). Jan, the owner, arranged for us to go to the local hamam across the road - a worthwhile experience.
Also make sure that the ”blue city” of Chefchaouen is on your itinerary. It's touristy, but such a relaxed feeling to the place, and a great introduction into bargaining for handicrafts. It's worth climbing the hill to watch the sunset at the Spanish mosque.
We enjoyed the Royal Granary & Stables in Meknes - the boys got to experiment with panoramic photos between the arches getting us in triptage (tip from the guide). Fes was amazing, but avoid being taken to carpet shops for the sales talk - much better to wait until the Sahara where carpets area third of the price. I loved the trip over the Atlas mountains to get to the Sahara. Make sure for kids that you have them download lots of Netflix before you leave for Morocco to get through this trip! There is lots of car time, but a lot to see on the way. But Netflix did save us from the "are we there yet" syndrome.
The Sahara was the highlight of the trip. But be prepared for tourists. I imagined the camp being far away from civilisation. It isn't really, but it does feel like it. It was a magical experience. Truly. Worth getting up early and climbing a dune for the sunrise too.
We ditched the film studios in Ouarzazate to spend more time at the Ait Benhaddou kasbah, where so many films and series have been made.
We enjoyed Marrakech. I was getting nervous about not having time to shop, but the Medina is well set out and I managed to do late afternoon shopping. We did ballooning in Marrakesh. It was such a beautiful experience and we loved it. Sunrise over the Atlas mountains was spectacular from the balloon. Worthwhile as an add-on.
We did Day in the life of a Berber. It's a long ride to get there from Marrakesh. I think that so much more could be made out of this experience so for me it was a little disappointing, but the kids loved it. My son and husband also cooked one of the best tagine we had eaten, so for that it was worth it.
Our driver, Youssef, was great. We did go to lots of tour places for lunch. If you would prefer to eat locally, then try and negotiate it with your driver.
Don't forget that tips can add up so calculate this in your tour budget.
We went in winter, which was mild, but it is worth having a down jacket for early mornings. If you're doing ballooning remember to dress warmly too. Jeans and t-shirts during the day is all you need and a jumper and jacket for when it cools down at night.
I would highly recommend Experience It Tours. We had a small issue with a Riad in Marrakesh and contacted Jill, who had it sorted out in ten minutes, Really great service from the crew at Experience It. Highly recommended.

Thank you for our fantastic Morocco tour! We had a truly memorable vacation. It was wonderful to experience such a beautiful country and culture. The tour was very well organized. Our driver Ali Ben was excellent! He is a great driver and we always felt safe during our long drives. Ail was very attentive to our needs and had a great way of anticipating our needs as well. It was a pleasure to spend the 10 days with Ail. He is very knowledgeable about Moroccan history and culture and could answer all of our questions. We also very much appreciated and enjoyed our guides and guided tours of Fes, Volubilis and Marakesh. All of which were great ways to experience the highlights of these amazing cities in just one day. Being in the Fes Médina was truly a highlight our trip. Traveling by car through the majestic mountains and expansive landscapes was unforgettable. We especially enjoyed our day and night in the desert! It was such a beautiful and serene environment. Our tent was very comfortable and everyone there was so nice and attentive. Playing drums with the drummers in the desert camp and with the musicians outside of Erfoud was an unexpected pleasure. We were very happy with all of our hotels and Riads. Being the only guests at the Palais Masandoia where the room, service and food was excellent and having dinner in the bar with a fire was very special! The staff in all of our accommodations were very kind, friendly, courteous and professional. We would recommend them and Morocco Tours to any future travelers. Unfortunately on our first night at Le Doge we were looking forward to having dinner in their dinning room but it was reserved for a private party. We had to eat in the upstairs more casual cafe. It was a chilly rainy and windy night with a lot of water blowing in to the dinning room which made it hard to fully enjoy. But our breakfasts at Le Doge were excellent as they were in all of our Riads and Hotels. Overall our tour was inspiring and memorable in the best way. It was beautifully put together and organized to meet all of our expectations and more. Thank you so much. I've attached some photos. Our trip to Morocco was absolutely delightful. We were very impressed with everything the company set up for us. We felt very lucky to have Rachid El Hou as our driver. He was incredibly attentive and informative and just made our whole trip a delight. He had a terrific sense of humor and was agreeable to all our little foibles. Also, one of us was having some issues with balance, and he took her arm and walked with her every time we were out of the vehicle. He was fun to be with, very caring, and had all kinds of background history to give us about Morocco.

We were very impressed at all the information provided to us before the trip, and especially the phone call with Vienna to answer any last lingering questions.

In the middle of our trip we decided to make a change in our itinerary, and Jill made that happen in 15 minutes! We’d expected to hear how it couldn’t be done, and we appreciated very much how everything the company did make our trip very special. We hoped to have a good trip, but in actuality it was just about perfect.

I very much hope to travel again to Morocco, and if I can, Experience It Tours will be the first people I’ll get in touch with.

Our accommodations were perfect. We had a driver who took us to the cities we chose and was helpful in every way. We would love to return to Morocco and would happily choose Morocco Tours again.

Seeing and understanding the world is a passion. One does not know the world unless you visit the world and it’s people. Oman was new and different in so many aspects and you made that possible.
The resorts/hotels were beyond incredible and could have used more time in each and just experience their services.
We were a bit disappointed in the south of Oman and what to see and do. Lots of driving to see much sand, dirt and rocks. Sad to see that more was not put in to cleanliness and preserving the old ways of life with so much history.
Guides beyond incredible and made the best of every moment and help at every turn. Our opinion is this is a trip for the more well traveled and would stay north and Muscat and travel from that point.

From the time I first contacted Brian at Experience It Tours until we left Morocco at the conclusion of the tour, we were incredibly pleased and impressed with our experience. We got great insights before we traveled to Morocco, and Khalid was both an excellent driver and became our good friend. My daughter and I loved the tour, loved Khalid and loved all the guides Experience It Tours arranged for us in each location we visited. We felt safe and well taken care of! Their recommended accommodations and dining places were uniformly excellent.

Choosing Experience It Tours for our Morocco trip was the best decision that we’ve had. From the tour driver that was selected for us (he’s very respectful and knows a lot about his country), the service vehicle (it’s nice and clean everyday and stocked with water, wet wipes, tissues), the hotels (they were rated as 3-star but most can pass as 4-star to us!), the city tour guides (they are knowledgeable, funny and patient), and the selection of food/restaurants during our 8-day trip were great. The people we’ve met were also very nice and accommodating especially to our friendly and energetic 2-year old. We will definitely get Experience It Tours again if ever we go to another country where they have an itinerary. We recommend this tour company! They are worth every cent!

Feedback on our recent trip to Oman, it was fabulous and we enjoyed every minute of it. As you know our Drivers/Guide in Muscat was Rachid who was very accommodating, he went the extra mile on more than one occasion; his local knowledge was excellent and this filled some of the longer drives with interesting conversation.
As to the tour content Day 1,2,and 3 were well chosen and we thoroughly enjoyed the time at Nizwa very interesting. Overall we found the museums in Oman to be simply laid out, most informative and well presented. Our visit to Jebal Akhadar was awesome and we will certainly return to the area for a longer period of time in the future. One night is just to short a time. Day 4 included the Zukait Beehive Tombs and unfortunately this was a disappointment, the site is run down, lights and stairways broken and no information other than mysterious tombs we would recommend that this be taken out of your tours a long drive for a disappointing result. In the area of Nizwa there is a small farm where Indigo is grown and an Indigo dying plant which would be of greater interest and needs to be looked at by yourselves for inclusion. The accommodation at the Desert nights Camp was very comfortable and the food excellent. Day 5 this visit to the Bedouin House was not a success, the articles available for sale are not made by the Bedouins, the arrival of the Bedouin in a land cruiser to the house just prior to our arrival was so indicative of how times have changed. Otherwise the rest of the day was great.
Our transfer to Salalah was seamless and we were met by Alawi Ba Omar who should be congratulated on his local knowledge and choice of local restaurants. The variety of food was enormous and the prices low. He was able to explain in detail the history of the frankincense trees, the cultivation of these amazing trees. We thoroughly enjoyed our night in the Empty Quarter however the night spent at Wadi Shuwaymiyah surpassed our expectation and again we would have liked to stay on for another night and have done some hiking in the area and again Alawi proved to be a most informative guide and obviously knows the area intimately.
Our last day in Salalah was excellent again the Museum was superb and we really believe that those responsible for their design, content and upkeep should be congratulated.
All in All we believe we have found a Gem in Arabia and will certainly return in the not to distant future. Thank you to those who were involved in organizing our journey and particular thanks to our two Drivers/Guides.

Our Experience It tour of Morocco exceeded all of our expectations. The itinerary, accommodations and guides allowed us to experience the diversity and richness of Moroccan geography and culture. Our accommodations, often traditional riads in the city medina, were charming. The local guides at each of our stops provided an engaging and informative insight into their city or town. Our driver made every effort to ensure that our trip was a comfortable and interesting experience. We had to spend a lot of time travelling between stops, but it was small price to pay for the range of destinations and experiences. It would be hard to select a highlight, but the stay in Merzouga, camel ride, and overnight in the desert might be my choice.

Experience IT Tours arranged a trip to Morocco for 4 of us in November. All of the tours, lodging and meals were fantastic. Our driver is now like part of our family - we cannot say enough positive things about Hatim.

We loved the country, culture, history, architecture, medinas, shopping, artisan workshops, food and of course the camel ride in the Sahara! The great thing about being on an independent tour was the ability to stop spontaneously when we saw something of interest - i.e. the Bee Boxes alongside the road, or the olive presses in motion sine it was the olive harvest time.

Bethany helped me with the planning. I asked for proposals from 6 companies before choosing Experience IT. The reason we selected them as that they listened to what WE wanted - not simply proposing a standard tour.

Our Deluxe Luxury Morocco Tour (14 nights/ 15 Days) with Experience it Tours was truly Splendid – an absolute delight and most enjoyable in ALL regards. Top notch accommodations in Suites (Our favorites were the magnificent Riad Fes, La Maison Arabe in Marrakech, the Palais Masandoia in Erfoud, and of course the Tent in the Desert Luxury Camp). A Tent? Yes. Can you imagine riding a camel into the desert and finally reaching the Desert Luxury Camp where your Tent includes a King Size bed, Air Conditioning, Full Shower and a real porcelain toilet and not some hole in the ground? A swimming pool, restaurant in a dedicated tent coupled with Berber Music and dancing around a campfire under the stars? It was not a mirage but one of the many incredible Fun Days we experienced that left us with indelible impressions, experiences and such fond memories.
Our trip included all the “must Experiences and Sights” and then some, highlights including: The Hasan II Mosque & Rick’s Cafe in Casablanca, Kasbah des Oudayas, Mohammed V Mausoleum, Hasan Tower, & Chellah in Rabat, the fabulous ”blue city” of Chefchaouen, Roman ruins of Volubilis, Sultan Moulay Ismail's Royal Granary & Stables (for 12,000 horses!) in Meknes, Fes with its souks, wonders and a fun Café Clock Cooking Class, Barbary Macaques en-Route to the South, the Rissani Souk, the entire Desert Luxury Camp Experience riding docile Camels getting you there, the Todra Gorges, the Moroccan version of “Hollywood” in Ouarzazate, the incredible Ait Benhaddou which lent authenticity to so many scenes in movie blockbusters (and some forgettable films), Marrakech with the incredible Saadian Tombs, Bahia Palace, the Jardin Majorelle and of course, Snake Charmers in Jemaa el-Fna, as well as Goats in Trees (!) en-Route to Essaouira with its Skala and memorable Harbor Scenes.
And a professional driver “par excellence”, the superb Rachid Chakir who took care of us as if we were his own children. The local guides added insight and understanding to the sights along the way, allowing the wife and me to photograph to our hearts content, relaxed & never rushed (We are on vacation!). Towering above them all was Mohammed in Marrakech, just an incredible wealth of fascinating history and trivia which he delivered with such enthusiasm and patience. And the food delicious. Don’t miss the Djaj M'Hammer (Roasted Cockerel w three Spiced Sauce) at the Riad Fes, the Chicken Bastilla at la Maison Arabe, and the food at La Mamounia or the Royal Mansour in Marrakech. Our dinners at the Desert Luxury Camp and Palais Masandoia - just delightful given that they are off the beaten track. We were also most pleasantly surprised at the very good quality of the Moroccan Chardonnays we ordered with our meals.
The “home office” from Bethany Wilson in Morocco to Vienna Vogelezang here in the U.S. is so friendly, most helpful, honest and certainly attentive to detail. Would the wife and I use Experience it Tours again? Absolutely with a Resounding Yes! Thanks so much to everyone for such a wonderful, wonderful trip!

Our trip to Morocco could not have been more perfect - 3 days back in Maine now and I can’t stop thinking about it. We were 3 couples on a private tour that went 1600 miles. Bethany was superb but our guide Ilyass made sure we would not miss one moment of this great country. He was attentive to every detail and not only made sure we had the best table at the most interesting restaurants,but at every sight also talked with the locals, such as a boy with a baby goat and his 86 y/o grandfather at the Argan goat tree site. He was smart, savvy, fun and energetic and we felt like we were a member of his own family.The entire team did it’s best to personalize the trip so that we could be active and culturally immersed in all that the country had to offer.

We had an amazing trip to Morocco. Most things were first class and our guide was very good. The itinerary was comprehensive and well planned. There was so much to see and do and we even added a couple of stops of our own. If I had it to do over, I would plan in a little more downtime (we had one free day in Fez) to relax and regroup between all the sights and sounds, history and topography.
